The law of the clans is taht medicine cats(any gender) can't breed, but since your in a pseudoclan you can decide if medicine cats are allowed to breed.
By patched, do you mean classic tabby, where they have swirly lines and spots throughout their pelt? -

I would like to describe it as a African Wild Dog patched pelt.

Taht would be like calico, in which only female cats can have. Unless you buy a calico/tortie tom from the store, he cannot be that color.
