Shardpaw spotted a woodland mouse, having a mixed scent of the Thunderpath and ThunderClan, it was the perfect prey to test out his new dust trick.
Lets hope this works... Shardpaw hoped. He waited for the right time. Once the mouse had walked onto a dusty part of the ground, he went in.
Shardpaw kicked dust and dirt into the air, around the mouse. Shardpaw made sure the mouse didn't move. Time for the next step. He thought.
With the mouse blind, he went on one side and yelled a battle cry. Instinctively, the mouse would run the opposite of where the cry came from. He swiftly jumped to the other side of the dust cloud. Just as he expected, the mouse ran out and Shardpaw was waiting. With one clean bite at the mouse, it was dead within seconds.
"Excellent." Shardpaw murmured. "At this rate, it'll be perfected." Shardpaw picked up the fresh-kill. Now he had the satisfaction of a successful hunting technique and a mouse dangling from his mouth.
