    Thomas Wilson sat outside on a bench, the wind blowing through his blonde hair, now grown out since he had lost his eyesight. He moved a little on the bench and winced as an acorn drove itself into his hand. He he had his sight, he would have seen that! He growled in frustration.


    Cat Bates drove to the facility. They had to help her. She had no life without Jake...none! Tears started to slip out of her blue eyes and her sister Mary Anne sighed. She pulled one of her own curls and looked out the window. Her sister was so emotional these days!

    Katy struggled to keep a hold of the swing, a light breeze cooled her effort. Getting used to an artificial arm was hard and took practice. Her crutches were laid to the side, a new pair given to her. She saw kids playing on a slide, pushing and tugging on each other. One day, she was able to do that, but not anymore. America was important, but at what cost?

    "Katy? That you?" Thomas asked, turning his head. He had heard her.

    Katy did a quick search of the area, almost instantly spotting Thomas. "Thomas! Oh my gosh, is that really you?"

    Cathryn Gonne shivered as she walked out into the area, her step very hesitant. It was another black, gloomy day She blankly sat at the bench but upon realizing there was someone else there as well, she screamed. Cathryn hesitantly reached her hand out to Thomas.


    "Ronnick? Is that you, my love?"

    "Yes, Katy." he smiled at her. He turned to the other girl. "What are you talking about?" he asked her quietly.

    Thomas looked down and then back up. "I don't know, is it?"

    Thomas smiled. ."Thanks."

    "Yeah, that would be cool." Thomas said.

    Katy stands up, with effort and scribbles a row of numbers on a piece of paper. "Call me whenever you like, we have to make up for lost time."

    "I'll have someone read it to me." Thomas nodded

    Katy leans over and gives Thomas a friendly kiss, tears in her eyes. It had been so long... "See you later," She calls, starting the short walk back to her apartment.

    Thomas blushed and nodded. They went way back. They had went to highschool, and served together for a time.
