  • Rainkit lay on a grassy field, basking in the warm newleaf sun. She enjoyed how it's rays sent warmth to her body as her skin was only protected by a short layer of black and silver fur. She closed her ocean blue eyes and hummed to herself. She appeared very content but no one understood what went inside her head often. Ever since her sister's death two moons ago, she's been having nightmares, even during the day. Flashbacks of her sister getting dragged away from their mother in the jaws of that badger. Rainkit normally tried to keep a happy, friendly look on but every night before she went to bed she cried for her sister. Though it's not like anyone would understand what she's going through - would they?

  • Featherkit saw Rainkit sitting in a sunny patch and happily trotted up to her. She looked at Rainkit and let out a little smile, "Hi, Rainkit!" She mewed cheerfully, laying down next to her. Her light brown fur absorbed the warm sun and she ran her tongue over her brown nose to wet it. She tilted her head to the sky for just a moment more, keeping her lime colored eyes closed to avoid the sun's harsh rays. She let out a long comfortable sigh before turning back to Rainkit, "It's such a nice day, Rainkit. How are you doing?" She asked kindly.

  • Rainkit opened one eye and smiled at the other kit. "I'm doing quite well, Featherkit," she replied politely. "How are you?" She sat up and curled her black tail neatly around her paws.

  • ((Woah, I'm sorry, I don't know why I said her fur was brown, it's white... :-I sorry..))

Featherkit smiled at Rainkit. Her bright green eyes glimmered in the bright sunlight as she looked at Rainkit, "I'm doing quite well," She mewed, "Though, I have noticed that you have been going away from the clan more and more often lately, do you want to talk about it?" She asked, sitting up and turning around to face Rainkit better, and more specifically to make the sun shine on her white pelt. She looked down at Rainkit, laying down on the soft grass. A wind blew calmly, making Featherkits soft fur flail in the wind and the long, thin grass blew gently in the breeze.

  • OOC - It's fine.(:

Rainkit blinked slowly and shrugged her small ebony shoulders. "I enjoy it when it's quiet," she replied. "Much more than I enjoy the other kits practically yelling in my ear as the day passes." She wasn't necessarily the type that liked to play games such as tag and mossball with the other kits. She preferred to be alone, with the sun warming her pelt and the only sounds being the gentle breeze that brushed past her ears and the sound of the rippling water that filled the lake each Clan's camp surrounded.

  • Featherkit sighed, she did enjoy playing with the other kits, and she really wished Rainkit did too. Rainkit was a great friend, and Featherkit knew that she'd be a good cat to play some moss-ball with. She pawed at the grass on the ground and clawed some of it out of the soft dirt. Featherkit turned to Rainkit and smiled, "That's ok, I don't care too much for those silly games either..." She murmured, digging her claws into the ground, "What about the stream?" She asked, saying something honest for once, "Do you like to go to the stream, it's really nice, and the churning water is always soothing to me." She smiled and stood, "I can take you there, if you want." She proposed.

  • Rainkit also stood up - something like an adventure to the stream appealed to her. She knew Featherkit was lying about not liking those silly kit games although she didn't mention anything of it. She dipped her head towards her friend. "Lead the way," she offered.

  • Featherkit could feel her paws itching to run, but she waited patiently for Rainkit to stand and walk behind her. She lead the way, making sure her pace was slow enough for Rainkit to keep up with her. She could tell that Rainkit wasn't acting like herself, she was slower, more antisocial, of course she wasn't going to mention it, but she could tell that it was happening. Rainkit was slipping right out of WindClan's paws, and Featherkit worried for what her next action would be.

When Featherkit and Rainkit made their way to the stream the cattails were blowing in the soft wind and Featherkit sat down next to the stream. She knew that it was close to RiverClan territory, but they wouldn't hurt her anyway, hopefully. She sat and closed her lime eyes, letting the wind course through her white pelt.

  • Rainkit sat beside Featherkit at the edge of the stream, digging her tiny yet sharp silvery-gray claws into the wet earth. She stared off into the distances, the scents of WindClan as well as RiverClan seeping into her nose like the rushing stream itself. The evening breeze ruffled her black and silver fur gently, tangling it a bit although she didn't mind the slightest.

  • Featherkit watched Rainkit look around, wanting to talk to her about her mother. Just do it, Featherkit. Don't be such a scardy mouse! She turned to Rainkit and mewed softly, "So-so Rainkit, a-about your mother... How are you doing with her.. gone and all?" She asked, immediately wishing she didn't. She didn't want to hurt her friend's feelings, but she also didn't want to let this go, she knew her friend needed her help, weather she asked for it or not.

  • OOC - Do you mean her sister? x3

A cold expression swept over Rainkit's ocean blue gaze and she narrowed her eyes. "I know that Poppykit is safe with StarClan," she replied coolly, lifting her chin defensively. "She's gone, so what am I to do about it?" She dug her claws deeper into the ground. "I know you're my friend, Featherkit, but it isn't your business to ask those questions." She knew her tone was a bit harsh but that was only fueled by sadness. She turned away from Featherkit and gazed at her reflection on the surface of the water.

  • OOC: Sorry, I read the first one wrong. I thought it was her sister and her mother

Featherkit felt her fur get warm, and not all of it was because of the sun. She felt tears form in her eyes, she hadn't meant for Rainkit to be mad at her, but she just wanted to make sure her friend was ok. She turned away so Rainkit didn't have to see the tears running down her face. "I-I'm sorry..." She muttered softly.

When she was looking on the other side of the stream she saw a cat, but it wasn't a normal cat. It was shimmery, and faded, and you could almost see though it. She squinted her eyes and looked closer. It had a white-cream pelt and blue eyes ((just pretend that I said it's Poppykit's fur and eyes color...)), and it's eyes were blinking with fear. "Po-Poppykit?" Featherkit muttered, trying to make out the cat on the other side of the stream.

  • "Yes, Poppykit," Rainkit growled in response, not seeing the spirit of her sister on the other side of the stream. She was still examining her reflection in the water and she had no idea that Featherkit had caught a glimpse of her dead sister's spirit rather than asking her if that was her deceased sister's name.

  • Featherkit pushed Rainkit, not wanting to look up from her sister's spirit on the other side of the stream, "NO! Poppykit, look!" She said, almost in a whisper, as if she didn't want the kit to run away at her loud voice. She held still, praying to StarClan that Rainkit would look up in time to see her dead sister.

  • Rainkit sighed and glanced up. "You're insane-" she started to say, when her blue gaze focused on Poppykit's spirit. Her eyes widened. "Poppykit? It can't be..."

The other, younger cream-furred kit cowered in fear, now noticing the two kits. She started to back away. "No, Poppykit, it's me - Rainkit," Rainkit called. Poppykit froze.

"R-Rainkit? Rainkit, wait, I'm coming..." She started to wade through the stream, when another StarClan came, picked her up by the scruff, and the two felines started to dissolve into the air. Poppykit was thrashing and begging the other cat spirit to put her down. "I want my sister," she pleaded. "Take me to my sister!!" By this point, however, they were gone, and Rainkit was standing at the side of the stream, staring off in disbelief.

    "...Poppykit?"

  • Featherkit watched the StarClan kit and another warrior dissolve in the air. A tear streaked down her face, and her mind was coursing with thoughts, memoires of her and Poppykit, all kinds of things. She looked on the other side of the stream and she waded into the middle of it, letting the cool water lick at her paws. She sighed and looked down, wishing she could help Rainpaw in this time of hurt.

  • Rainkit remained at the edge of the stream, watching as Featherkit waded into the middle of it. She curled her tail around her paws and continued to stare at her reflection, her ocean blue gaze hardened. She then realized that she no longer looked like herself. She appeared much older and mature, and there were dark, tired bags under her eyes. They always looked as if they were brimming with tears and even if she tried to smile, it always looked as if she were either emotionless or upset. She allowed a melancholy sigh to escape her lips and she lay down, resting her head on her paws as the water lapped gently at her muzzle.
