• Death. That's all that filled the air. The atmosphere was still and quiet, and little life remained. Holly is one of the few survivors - one of the few that didn't catch the disease. She was still human, but barely alive. Starving and exhausted she struggles to bring herself through this. But the zombies - they're everywhere. Almost every time she turns around she comes face to face with one. She tries to keep herself hidden but for some reason, luck is no longer in her favor. She needs someone - someone that can help keep her alive, and she can help keep them alive. But is there anyone left?

  • Let's start~
. . . H o l l y . . .
The moment I open my eyes I expect sunlight to pour through the foliage of the trees. That's the human instinct, isn't it? In the early mornings it seems as if there should be a warm, golden glow in the sky that welcomes you to a new day. It was like that for me...for a while. But after the start of the zombie apocalypse, things have been different. I've lost track of time. Perhaps I'm going to sleep at ten in the morning and I wake up at six in the evening, thinking it's the crack of dawn. So many months without some kind of clock or a way to tell time has caused me to lose track of it. Even if it is early in the morning, it sure never looks that way. The sky is always dark. I don't know why, but whenever I glance up all I see is black, or maybe a dark, muggy blue. Sometimes the sky is swamp green. Something it's blood red. But it's never the light blue color that all of us have pictured the sky to be ever since we were young.

I prop myself up on my elbows and let out a quiet yawn. I hear shuffling in a nearby bush and I tighten my grip on the ebony leather handle of my blitz. I tuck a piece of my black hair behind my ear and slowly rise to my feet. "Wh-Who's there?" I ask shakily. I'm foolish for speaking out, for if it were a zombie creating those noises they would have been able to find me. Since when has a human sneaked up on me? I've been alone ever since the outbreak.

I hear the shuffling noises again. I creep towards it, blitz ready. My free hand is also moving closer to my dirty brown belt where my dagger has been strapped neatly in place. "Whoever you are, come out and I will fight you," I growl. If it's a zombie, I know that statement is a lie - for if it's a zombie, I will turn around and run. But you may never know. Destiny and fate work together to store many surprises for you. A shudder overtakes my body as I picture the disgusting face of the undead, their skin covered in wounds and injuries and rotting gray skin. I've seen plenty of them before but I'm still afraid.

I pause in my steps once I stand about a yard away from the bush.

I better ready myself to make a run for it.

  • An ebony-haired girl frowned in disgust, tucking her hair behind her ear. Her eyes are a shade of brown, and they flash as she easily sneaks through the foilage, hidden from zombies. She looks up, seeing a dark sky overhead, casting an eerie light upon everything. She chuckled. "I vwould rather spend the rest of my life in Siberia..." A sigh escaped her cracked lips. "I miss old Mother Russia... Vwhere everything was okay..." She looked down at the ground, her brows furrowing as a wave of nostalgia crashed onto her, making her dizzy. She shook her head to clear her thoughts, staring straight ahead. Her homeland was in ruins now. There's no point to dwell on it. She spotted a girl resting, and her eyes constricted as she pondered on what to do. She approached her carefully, wondering if she was a zombie. Pulling out her faucet pipe, covered in blood, she slowly made her way towards her, her lips curling in a snarl as she prepared to strike.

  • . . . H o l l y. . .

A girl emerges from the bushes and I take a large step backwards, staring wide-eyed at her. I can't exactly tell if she's a zombie or not. She looks dirty and tattered but hey, don't I? She doesn't walk with a limp like most undead creatures I've come across do, and the scent of death doesn't surround her. I'm so used to that smell so it's quite easy for me to tell the different between the living and the resting... and the ones that should be resting but are instead walking among us and scaring us out of our wits. I shiver once more before returning to reality. The girl is slowly making my way towards her - with each step she takes I take one backwards.

"Don't touch me," I growl, still unsure if she is a human or a zombie. "I'm warning you." I hold up my blitz, it's silver blade glistening as it catches the eerie light of the small speck of the moon that hangs overhead.

  • A smirk forms across the girl's lips as she resumes an erect standing position, much different from her attacking stance in which she is bent over. "Ah. I thought I vwas last human left." She mused, her Russian accent thick across her words. "It seems that you are immune, da?" A crooked smile crossed her features, though it was insane in a way. "And if you vant to fight me, feel free, but I vwarn you, zis faucet pipe is no laughing matter when in my hands..." She ran her hand over the exterior slowly, feeling the metal imperfections of the weapon. "This vwone has saved my life many a time, da..."

  • Being around another human has caused me to return to my old, sarcastic self that I once was, just for a few moments. I place a hand on my hip, the other tying my blitz back onto my belt. I roll my emerald eyes upon hearing this strange foreign girl speak. "Vwell, hello," I mock. "You don't seem very excited to meet another human." Truth is, I was glowing on the inside. Finally, a walking creature that wasn't a zombie. The way her cheeks were flushed a bit I could tell she was a healthy and strong young woman.

Putting my sarcastic attitude to the side, I dip my head respectfully towards her. "Although, I am ecstatic to come across another human. And I wouldn't fight you..." I eye her faucet pipe. A giggle rises in my throat, but she seemed pretty passionate about using it to tear my face off if I attempted to attack her, so I keep my mouth shut. I suddenly think - what if this Russian girl has any allies of some sort? "Are there any others, besides us?" I ask.

    Somehow, I have a feeling there isn't.

  • I narrowed my eyes, scowling at her. She made a bad impression on me already. "I don't like zeh vay you mock me and Mother Russia accent. It is zeh only thing sat reminds me of homeland." I said flatly, my eyes hardening under my locks of hair. I met her gaze steadily, my bravado still showing as I replied, "Vwhat's it to you?" To her question about allies. My lips firmly pursed, I bade her a brisk "добрый день" and began to walk away into the foilage.

    добрый день;; good day

  • So much for allies, I think to myself with a depressed sigh. I return the farewell before quickly walking away. Within seconds I break into a run, and I zoom past the dark, rotting trunks of the trees. That girl looked as if she were going to kill me on the spot, and relief swarmed over me when she turned and walked away, but it's still good not to remain in that place for she could come and bring that faucet pipe to my skull when I least expect it. When my heart beats against my chest and I am having trouble breathing, I stop and place both hands on my knees in order to regain my breath.

  • Diana rolled her eyes and a scoff escaped her lips. "Zey alvways run." She chuckled humorlessly. "I guess they can't sense a bravado when they see one, da?" She muttered to herself, and shook her head. "нет проблем..." She said in her native language sadly, before whisking away look for zombies to beat with her faucet pipe. She tipped her head at her surroundings, they seemed unfamiliar. She kept her faucet pipe close, for it was her only weapon; as she made her way carefully back to her makeshift camp.

    нет проблем;; no problem...

  • Once I've caught my breath I begin walking. As I stated earlier, it's a bit hard to keep track of time, but I'm getting a bit tired, possibly after all that running. I climb up a nearby tree and sit on one of the higher sturdy branches, my legs swinging back and forth. I lean my head back on the trunk and stare up at the black sky - that's when I hear leaves crunching beneath somebody's feet down below. God, is it that Russian girl again? Can't she just leave me alone? I glance downwards and I force myself to keep a scream locked in my throat when I see the limping, unstable figure of a zombie. I unstrap my blitz from my belt and keep a tight grip on the ebony handle as the zombie staggers past my tree. Once it disappears into the foliage I let out a quiet sigh of relief, then I think - it's heading towards the Russian girl. Sure, we aren't allies, but she's the only human I've seen since the beginning of the apocalypse. No one deserves to die or join the undead, even if they do come across as slightly annoying and rude in my eyes. I climb down the tree and follow the zombie in utter silence.

    Age: 19
    Gender: Male
    Appearance (pictures are accepted):

Personality: Nathan is quite a kind and caring person when confronting survivors. He's well aware of the horrors that other people have gone through and does his best to avoid asking about what they've gone through or tell them that he's sorry. The main thing he'll repeat over and over to anyone he meets is to have hope for a better world and to keep going. He'll do his best to keep the people around him in high spirits and ease their pain, though he's well aware that some people are a lost cause. When there's a danger of zombies, which is almost always, his personality will quickly turn serious. He isn't much of a leader but he'll do his best to keep control and figure out a way to kill them without causing a racket. The top priority for him is to keep everyone safe and the infected far away or as few in numbers as possible. If it comes down to it, he might even offer his life in order to save another's.
History: Pre-Apocalypse, Nathan's life wasn't anything above average. His mother and father both worked while Nathan did his best to keep both his studies and his social life even. Then, when he was 16 yrs. old, the apocalypse happened. He'd seen the reports of zombies on T.V but thought it was a hoax, until he spotted a neighbor being attacked by the undead. From there, he went on his survival instincts. He tried his best to round up any weapons and people he could save, but as time past by the numbers in his group dwindled to him and a friend he knew since elementary school. They managed to keep each other grounded for a few years and relied on each other. His friend was killed during a horde attack and Nathan personally had to place a bullet in him when his friend began to turn. Nathan began living on his own soon after but is afraid that he'll slowly lose hope in living sometime soon.
Weapon(s): Usually it's whatever is around him, but he usually keeps at least a loaded gun with him. He might use bladed weapons in order to get rid of a couple infected but anymore and he'll use stronger weapons.

Whoever said the world wouldn't end with a bang but a whimper was obviously an idiot. As I gazed outside of my safe house at the passing undead, I can say without a doubt that the world ended with a bunch of screams and echoed with groans and moans. I wiped blood off the butcher knife I'd managed to scavenge and got ready to head outside into the woods. The infected were starting to crowd up and I wanted them to stay in as little numbers as possible so I could have enough time to pack and head off. The place I was staying at was a boarded up, single room cabin in the middle of the woods. It's previous occupant probably tried to outlive the apocalypse, but one way or another they went mad. I only went down to the small basement when I had to collect another batch of MREs (Meals Ready to Eat) and even then I tried not to stay there for too long. It smelled horrible and looked even worse.

I decided to take a couple guns just in case things got hairy and stuck them in make-shift holsters I created way back, then gripped my knife as I unlocked the door and tentatively stepped outside. There didn't seem any immediate danger but I wasn't about to let my guard down just yet. I quickly locked the door behind me and sauntered off into the woods. The familiar sound of groaning reached my ears and I sweep over the area, hoping that whatever just made that noise didn't see me yet. I bit back a sigh of relief as I saw a couple zombies walking limply towards an unknown location.
Aim for the brain, I remembered as I crept up behind one of them. I quickly sank my knife into one of their skulls and dragged it backwards as soon as I saw it collapse backwards. The other one was slow to react which gave me enough time to attack a second time, jabbing underhand into the lower part of its skull. Thankfully, it only groaned loudly and didn't seem to move after I removed the knife. Just to make sure it was dead, I severed both of their heads and kick them off to the side. I wipe off the remaining blood of my knife on a tree and decide to head off into the west.

'Just clear out a wide circle around the cabin,' I told myself, 'You don't need to clear out a one mile perimeter'. It was always odd hearing the sound of my voice. It was husky and probably sounded scratchy from not using it often. Usually I'll try reciting a nursery rhyme that my group taught me or say things out loud. One old guy from the group always said that in order to keep the past alive we needed to tell stories, like the Native Americans. I always thought it was a dumb idea, but lately I've seen how important it is to pass on information through words. 'If only I had someone to pass the info to,' I thought bitterly, remembering that I hadn't met another survivor for quite a long time.

  • OOC: Can you make a zombie form or something? I allways wanted to play as a zombie. If not I will do the human form.

  • Sure c:

If you'd like to add any other information that I may have not put in, you can do so. (:

  • The girl of Russian orientation made her way through the thick foilage, her honey eyes focused firmly ahead of her; her ears perked for any unnatural sounds. Her faucet pipe was held so firmly in her grasp sweat was beginning to form, coating her hand in a light layer of the moist substance. Plus, the forest contained the heat that radiated from the sky, causing her clothes to stick to her body; though she continued stalking through the dense undergrowth without care. She was determined to make it back to her makeshift base, where little sustenance she carried around remained. She was planning to pack up and leave, for she did not trust the girl earlier to not do her any harm. She was always alone, wandering aimlessly until she came across a food of some sort, or a horde of zombies; even a weapons' shop, though she had yet to come across one of those yet. Even so, she trusted her faucet pipe to protect her, which has not failed her yet.

  • I stopped walking abruptly the moment I spotted the Russian girl treading along the forest floor, a tight grip on her faucet pipe. The zombie was nearly just two yards behind her. I thought about calling out to her but then the zombie would target me as well. Therefore, just as silently as I had been walking moments ago, I climbed up onto the first branch of a tree and quickly scurried to the top. How would I get her attention? I wondered. She seemed pretty focused on the path ahead of her that drew closer to her camp. My gaze flickered to the zombie then back to the Russian girl. If she were to look up and see me I'm sure she'd notice the fear showing in my green eyes. I broke off one of the skinnier, weaker branches and prayed that this would work. As I stated earlier, no one deserves to die, whether they be my best friend or my nemesis, and as the only other human I've seen since the start of the apocalypse, she needs to be notified of the zombie that's technically on her foot. I take the branch and throw it, aiming it for the Russian girl's shoulder. It won't hurt her but it will at least allow her to realize the undead creature that is behind her.
