  • "Dawnflight?" Hollowsong echoed. Her ears flicked forward. "She was your mate wasn't she?" It became a little more clear to her now. After all, ShadowClan was not very accepting of cats from other clans. And the she-cat she had seen as a kit smelled of WindClan.

  • At this point, all the anger seemed to slowly diminish, and he drug his gaze from the ground. Yellow eyes ablaze with quarreling emotion, he sought to answer her. "She had just told me that we were having kits...little babies, running around playfully.. He paused, unable to say more, the sheer displeasure clear on his face.

  • Hollowsong was unsure as to what to do. Comfort him? It was her first instinct but she wasn't sure if he would appreciate a stranger cat going so close to him. She was definitely not going to attack him. Instead, Hollowsong opted to take a few steps foreward and mewed her sympathy.

  • Midnightrun seemed to be lost in his own euphoria of thought until her mew startled him, dragging him back to reality with a clawlike grasp, the entirety of the action causing him to shake his head. Watching her for a moment, he eventually shook his head, and turned his attention behind him with a whip of his bristled neck. Still looking away, secretly trying to guard himself of revealing emotion, he newer in a deep voice," I did not come to seek pity. It is best that I take my leave." Truthfully, he came to punish, but she did not seem deserving.

  • With a tilt of her head, Hollowsong watched Midnightrun. "Running away won't help. And while revenge is rather satisfying, it won't do you any good."

  • Midnightrun paused, turning his head back to her. "Who said anything about running away? I've been gone from shadowclan for moons. This is no longer my home. And on the topic of revenge...I can only do so much. But I cannot satisfy that urge here." He mewed, flicking his tail toward her.

  • Hollowsong shrunk back. "I see...But haven't you heard? Winterstar is missing..." She wasn't sure how to continue about with her speech. With the leader gone, Midnightrun could probably do some damage to ShadowClan--not so huge as to take on the whole clan but perhaps find the cats who killed his mate.

  • Midnightrun blinked, tilting his head to the side somewhat.

Did she not fully understand his intentions? Or was she simply okay with the idea?

Giving away such helpful information...well, it seemed as if she was turning upon her own clan.

Curiously, he took a step toward her. "Why do you relay such information to me?"

It wasn't as if she owed him something, quite the contrary most likely.

  • "You seem surprised. I will admit, I have no obligations towards ShadowClan. I would much prefer that you rid yourself of the burden of your mate's death." Hollowsong chuckled to herself. "Perhaps you were right when you implied that ShadowClan was just full of traitors."

  • Midnightrun beheld a bit of caution in his eyes. After all, she owed him nothing, and it seemed strange that a cat without reason was so willingly straying from their home and beliefs. But then again, it would mirror her own words, shadowclan is full of traitors. She was representing such now, by illustrating such lack of care.

Still, he couldn't let all of his guard down, for just as easily as she spoke now, she could turn in an instant and with the flick of her tongue, explain to shadowclan that he was coming.

Still, such an opportunity was not to be missed.

You will allow me then, to pass by and secure what I seek?" He mewed as he stood, demonstrating that he was ready to pass her by.

But in the same second, something about her seemed drawing. He would not forget her face.

  • "I will. ShadowClan is in distress--their leader has been kidnapped after all. If I were to simply stay in the background and let you do as you please, no cat would notice me." Hollowsong lowered her head, almost like a curtsy, and took a step back. "However, all I ask is that you do not kill Leechpaw. She is my apprentice and perhaps my only tie to ShadowClan that I care for. The rest, taunt them, cripple them, kill them, it doesn't matter to me."

  • Midnightrun listened to her, and as much as he was a bit overjoyed at her simple allowance of him to continue, a bit of it disturbed him.

She was so willing to allow her clanmates to die, was that how the murderers who jumped him and Dawnflight had felt? Even his old friends, able to cast their relashionships aside in order to do what they thought was fun and right, but in the end sinister and cruel?

Suddenly, he felt a pang of hatred. Perhaps not toward her, but toward her beliefs in general. A part of him wanted her to stop him, to prove that some cats cared for one another. But in the end, it seemed that the assertion in question was false.

    Do not kill Leechpaw.

What, the one cat she cared about?

    Sure.

With a grunt and a nod of his head, he began to pad off, now with a new plan in motion. He was going to search for this Leechpaw.

  • Hollowsong watched as Midnightrun walked off. She hoped that he would do as he said. He seemed like a cat of his word but sometimes, you could never quite tell.

  • It was not long before the black tom dissapeared through the filthy alleyway.

ooc: I pmed the owner of Leechpaw, to see if we can try to do a confrontation.

Will let you know if it happens! Maybe Hollowsong could step in and save her if so. :]
