"Thanks Mason." She smiled, and walked in to the clasroo m. She felt as all the kids eyes fell on them. She shook a bit as the cheerleaders gave her a deadly stare.

Mason moved so close to Mindy that their shoulders were almost touching. He sent a cold glare at the cheerleaders before looking around the room, his emerald eyes dark. Then he began to walk to the back of the room to find a seat.
-
Mindy followed him, trying to block out their glares. no.. no more please. No more staring she thougjt, sitting in the very back of the room.
-
Mason sat in the desk next to her and offered her a reassuring smile. Then he turned and leaned back in the chair, meeting the other students' glares with equal amounts of coldness and calm.
-
The other students looked back at the chalkboard. Mindy laid her head on the desk, trying not to think of her parents.
-
Mason nodded, satisifed that the students had left them alone. He looked at Mindy, worried. "You okay?" He asked quietly.
-
Mindy shook her head, looking up at him again. Her eyes were bloodshot, and puffy.
-
Mason looked around before looking back at her. "I'm sorry." He murmured, reaching a hand out to carress her cheek. "I shouldn't have drawn attention to you."
-
"Its not tha Mason.. I miss my parents... they died 10 years ago but I wish they could still be here." She said, frowning
-
Mason lightly touched her cheek before drawing his hand away. "I'm sorry." He murmured. "My mother died a few years ago." He told her, offering his sympathy for the girl.
-
Mindy sighed and laid her head back down. "I have to live with my aunt Rose. I just wish I could have spent more years with them.."
-
Mason nodded in agreement. "I know how you feel." He whispered. He looked back at the front of the classroom, eyeing the teacher for a moment before looking back at Mindy.
-
Mindy wiped her tears away, taking a deep breath. "I am good now" she said
-
Mason smiled. "Good." He whispered. He looked at the board and took out his notebook.
-
She grabbed her notebook, and started taking notes
-
Mason finished his notes and absently doodled in the margins of his notebook. He smiled, ripped out a piece of paper, wrote something down on it, and quickly passed it to Mindy.
It read: Just in case we ever get separated. Then his number was written on the paper. -
Mindy grabbed the paper, and blushed when she seen it was his number she quickly wrote down her number and handed it to him,
-
Mason's lip curled up in a half smile. He quickly put the piece of paper in his pocket and chuckled.
-
Mindy smiled shyly, looking at her hands. She looked up, and bit her lip when she seen one of the cheerleaders stared at her
-
Mason hadn't noticed. Instead he began to write in his notebook, copying information from the board.
