Mason nodded. "Thanks." He replied. He took various textbooks out of his bag and neatly placed them in the locker.

mindy opened hers, smiling. Her locker was filled with pictures of her and muffin. She grabbed her math textbook and her notebook.

Mason kept his black backpack slung over his shoulder, which held his remaining items.

Mindy closed her locker, and looked at him. The bell rang as some cheerleaders came towards Mason. "Hello there. You must be the new kid" a girl sakd, winking at him.

Mason raised an eyebrow, but he nodded, staying silent as he closed his locker.

"Why are you hanging out with this loser?" She asked, as another girls tripped Mindy making her drop her stuff.

Mason's eyes narrowed. He caught Mindy, steadying her before he began to pick up her stuff for her. All while not uttering a single word.

Mindy had tears in her eyes, and looked at her shoes. "See.. everyone hates me.. expect you."

Mason handed Mindy's stuff back to her and looked the cheerleader dead in the eye, his stare intense and menacing.

"Come alk to us when you wanna hang" she winked, and walked away. Mindy cried and hugged Mason tight. "She's been doing this my whole life"

Mason hugged Mindy back, his arms protecting her. "Things will change, I promise." He whispered into her ear.

Mindy cried harder, burying her face into his shoulder. She hugged him tight, shaking her hand slowly

"Come on now, let's get to class." Mason whispered. "You're safe, you're with me." He continued to hug her, looking down at her.

Mindy nodded, and grabbed her stuff. She looked up, her mascara was running down her face

Mason frowned. "You shouldn't wear make-up." He murmured, gently wiping her tears away and lightly touching her cheek. "You don't need it."

Mindy blushed, and looked at his hand. "Mason.. we got to go to class" she smiled and winked at him.
