Druidsong trotted ahead, eyes scanning the slightly blurred forest scenery. She glanced to the right of her and saw a fast grey mouse dart straight across her path. The young warrior leaped at it, snagging it with a claw to deal the killing bite. She held it up in her jaws and examined the plump creature.

Crimsontide nodded, "Nightshadow! Skypaw! Up for a hunting patrol?" She called across to the black tom and mottled apprentice.
Nightshadow looked up, blinking his vibrant violet eyes. He grinned, "OK! One minute!" The night black tom stretched for one luxurious moment and trotted over to Crimsontide.

Druidsong trotted behind Echowind, a smile on her pretty face. Why are you on patrol? Get back to the medicine den! Your patients need you! The thought raced through her mind, a memory, but not a recent one...

Druidsong allowed the young apprentices to pass her, eyes wide. When she thought they weren't looking, the red-brown she-cat slipped away silently into the trees, following the voices and her sudden instincts.
