Wetkit started wailing. "I'm hungry!" she yowled.

"You want milk?" Winterbreeze sighed.

"No! Freshkill!" she squeaked, squirming.

Winterbreeze sighed, "Okay then." she said. She took a vole from Tigernose and set it in front of the kit. She cut a section out of it and gave it to her.

"Thanks mommy!" squeaked Wetkit, chewing the vole.

Winterbreeze laughed,"You're welcome." She took the other part of the vole for herself.

TigerNose smiled. "Your kits are beautiful." He breathed. "I wish they were mine."

Winterbreeze looked mournfully at him, "Me too." she breathed.

"When will you be returning to your clan?" TigerNose asked raising his voice.

"Well now that the kits are getting older then it might be best to take then back now." Winterbreeze said logically. Waterkit raced into the nursery. She fell and began to giggle.

"I can help." TigerNose meowed quietly. "If I can bring you into the clan camp, then I can certainly escort you out."

Winterbreeze nodded. She began to pick up some of the kits by their scruffs. Waterkit mewed her protest but then let her body hang limp in her mother's grip.

TigerNose picked Wetkit up in his mouth. "Don't worry, you'll be home soon." He meowed softly.
