Lisa tugged her sleeves lower, letting her long hair hide her down turned face. She felt a pen strike her across her back as someone threw it, but she ignored it and only winced a little from the sting. She ehard the bellowing laughs ring out behind her in the school corridor.
That one girl that no one knows and no one likes

Bump :(
-
Had it been only last year Finn probably would have joined in the laughter that echoed in the hallway, but a lot had changed about him over the latest Summer break. He wasn't as big of a jerk as he used to be and he felt a twinge of pity for the nameless girl. Of course the girl had a name, he'd seen her before, but he honestly couldn't recall it.
Nudging his friends in the ribs he gave them a stern look that was meant to quiet their laughter but only seem to edge them on. Rolling his eyes he walked ahead of them. It seemed he was the only one who had matured over the break.
Long, lean legs quickly caught up to the sullen girl whom had been the but of his friend's laughter. "Sorry about my friends. They can be a bit of jerks." Finn could feel his friend's hot gazes on him as he spoke to the awfully quiet girl but didn't flinch under their stare and continue to talk to this young woman.
"What can you expect from a bunch of kids?" he offered the girl a small smile.
-
Lisa glanced up, her grey eyes filled with unimaginable pain. She dropped her gaze and gave a small shrug. She winced again as her arms dragged along the side of her skinny body.
-
Finn looked away awkwardly. He was normally used to girls smiling along with him, not wincing, at what he thought, was the very sight of him. He quickly tried to remember had he ever tormented this girl in past years, but didn't recall.
Rubbing the back of his neck, "Ah, so, yeah. They are too dumb to say sorry by themselves so I just thought I'd say it for them."
-
"Oh, thanks," Lisa whispered in a tiny voice. She risked another look at him, hoping he didn't meet her eyes.
-
Finn glanced down at the unnamed girl and for a moment their eyes met. He didn't look away immediately, instead was a bit inspired by her sad grey eyes. Her eyes looked like something you'd see in a painting by one of the greats, full of secrets and feelings that he couldn't begin to understand.
Realizing he was staring he quickly looked away and cleared his throat, "Um, so, what's your name?" he braved.
-
"Lisa," she mumbled, quickly looking away, letting her hair sweep over her pinched face. She glanced up fearfully as they passed a group of flirting girls.
-
"Lisa..." Finn mumbled to himself. He vaguely remember hearing a teacher call her that a few times. Very vaguely. "Um, my name is Finn, by the way. Finn Oxnard, but you probably already knew that." Finn couldn't help it, he let a bit of his ego slip out. He wasn't perfect, after all, and being a part of the self appointed "Cool Kids Club" since he was in elementary school did have a way of boosting one's ego.
-
"Um, yeah," she responded quietly, she pulled her sleeves down further, almost a compulsive action.
-
Finn opened his mouth to speak once more only to hear snickers from behind. Glancing over his shoulder he saw that his small group of close friends were closely tailing the pair and were laughing at him - or her - or both?
Finn gave them a very rude gesture before turning back to the girl. "Well Lisa, nice to meet you."
-
She nodded slowly, glanced over her shoulder, her eyes fearful. She turned to duck down a side corridor away from most of the people.
-
Finn watched as the girl ducked away from prying eyes. Casting his friend's one last glance he slowly followed the girl. Why he wasn't too sure. Maybe it had something to do with how...different this girl was. She interested him, maybe not for the right reasons, but unique was unique.
"You shouldn't let them bother you. I mean, they are just like that. They don't mean any real harm."
-
"They don't mean harm?" she said stiffly, turning around. Her sad eyes suddenly blazing with an odd bitter anger, but the pain still throbbed underneath the anger.
