Deltapaw sat, her head bowed. Why in the name of StarClan had she been sent to the Medicine Cat? She was sure she'd get a proper punishment from Serpentstar, but to a medicine cat? What, did medicine cats suddenly become psychologists?
Besides, there wasn't anything mentally wrong with Deltapaw. She'd had a bad past which was influencing her behaviour. Basically, her parents were both anti-Clan cats. Her father was from The Elite, and her mother was from ScarClan. There'd been scuffles and skirmishes between her parents and her uncle, and as a kit, Deltapaw had always been quietly staring at them as they found, scratching and biting.
That was how she grew up, up till her third moon. Watching her family scratch and bite and curse. No wonder she had such a wide range of curse words on her vocabulary. So eventually, her uncle had enough. He hated the influence on Deltapaw and wanted to her to grow up in a pro-Clan where she'd (hopefully, but unfortunately did not) learn kindness and compassion.
So her uncle stole her and dumped her on ShadowClan territory. He'd died mysteriusly the next day, but her parents never knew where Deltapaw had been taken. So the black she-cat grew up, being bullied and teased because she was half-clan, and because she wasn't even a ShadowClanner.
So it seems now, the medicine cat's gonna have to change that, and turn her into a different cat altogether. What a challenge to take up.
