Arrowfrost crouched, and pounced swiftly on a mouse. He padded back to camp, and lay in a corner alone. Several cats were glancing worriedly at him. He lay his ears flat against his head. So what if he was TigerStar's son! Even though he was dead, what ever! It wasn't his fault that he was his son!
Lonely.

Fawnflare sat in her group, her tail wrapped neatly over her paws as she sat with her best friend, Lillystep. "Look, it's Tigerstar's son." Lillystep whispered in that mean voice she always used when she was teasing someone. Fawnflare nearly slapped her. "So what? We're all cats here." She hissed and rolled her eyes as Lillystep shrugged and went back to talking with her mate. Fawnflare got to her paws and padded over to him. "Hey." She said as she sat down beside him, licking her paw as she had gotten a splinter in it earlier while she had been tree climbing after a squirrel.

Firestorm felt bad for Arrowfrost as he walked past the crowd, but he turned around and went in front of the group of cats. "Don't you guys have somewhere to go?" Firestorm said in a hostile manner.[/fancypost]

Meadowpelt turned her head. "Firestorm, we're talking. It's sharing tongues." She said calmly, her head cocked to the side.

"Talking about him I'm guessing. Maybe whispering a few insults. Just talk somewhere else." Firestorm mewed

"Hi." Arrowfrost muttered to Fawnflare. He glanced at her paw, and perked his ears. "You okay?"
-
"Yeah, I'm fine. Songflare took a splinter out of my paw today and it still hurts." She said, casting a glance over at her 'group'.
-
He sniffed her paw, and flicked his ear. He followed her gaze and shrugged. The sun was going down, and he nudged her. "I'm gonna go to bed. See ya." He stalked into the warriors den, and breathed in the fresh air. Everyone went into their nests, but he poked one eye open.
He couldn't sleep, so he went out into the clearing and gazed at the stars from his favorite rock by the entrance of the camp. -
Fawnflare never slept with the other warriors. Tonight, she slept in one of her favorite spots. It was an old meadow that was concealed from view because of thornbushes. Fawnflare had managed to find her way through and now she almost always slept there. She curled up in the long grass, soon falling asleep.

Dunecloud hadn't gone to sleep, he had stayed out in the camp clearing, looking at the stars. He sometimes thought he belonged in WindClan, with his dusky coloring and longing to sleep outside. But he denied it every time it entered his thoughts, he usually just shook his head and went on about his daily business. But it nagged at his mind this time, and caused him trouble to sleep.
He knew he belonged to ThunderClan with his heart, but his mind thought about WindClan constantly. Like what it would be like there, what kind of food they ate and if everyone slept outside, under the open sky where you can see StarClan and know that they're watching you. How can cats resist that?It was a clear sky tonight, and Dunecloud thanked StarClan that he can see them and admire their mercy and elegance. His mother and father were up there, looking down at their little boy with proud eyes. He never thought about them much anymore though. And still there was a thought about WindClan, after all, the dusky tom had never known his father, was he half-clan? Was Dunecloud, a loyal warrior of ThunderClan be half-clan? But that thought was dismissed, at the mention of his father's death, everyone praised the dead warrior, saying Dunecloud then Dunepaw should be proud for his father. And mother moved to the Elders' Den, forever grieving for her lost mate.
Dunecloud sighed and looked around the clearing, one silhouetted shape of a cat was by the entrance to the camp, so the warrior padded over.
As he got nearer, Dunecloud saw it was Arrowfrost, so he offered a smile that was barely seen in the semi-darkness of night.Good-evening, Arrowfrost. Isn't it just a pleasant night tonight?
His voice is low and soft, almost like talking to a frightened kit. But Dunecloud is not like that, he is not always soft-spoken, in battle he is fierce and loyal, while in camp he is kind and gentle.
StarClan and his parents glow bright in the darkness, showing a path back to the Warriors' Den where others slept, sound asleep in the warm, musky den. But Dunecloud enjoys it best out here. -
Arrowfrost turned his head to the cat.
Even though his eyes were as blue as a blue jay, they glowed. He let out a sigh, he had wondered who it was for a moment.
"Good night, actually. It's night, not evening. But yes, it is quite beautiful." He continued to stare up at the stars.
When he was a kit he knew about his father's death. He would imagine Tigerstar and Scourge, having a never ending battle up in StarClan. But as he got older, he knew that Scourge, maybe his on father, went somewhere else. -
Fawnflare awoke a little while later to the sound of a twig snapping. She scrambled to her paws and looked around, only to realize it was just a squirrel. She shrugged, then ran at the squirrel. She did a flip in mid-air, then sunk her ivories into the squirrels neck. The squirrel died once Fawnflare sunk her ivories into it's neck. She smiled softly, then scent a silent prayer to Starclan, thanking it for this piece of prey. she grabbed the squirrel in her jaws, then padded back into camp, where she went to the freshkill pile and set the squirrel down at the top of it.
-
Rushpaw a new apprentice sat at her favorite tree in the clearing. She looked up at the stars remembering all the story's of all the cats before her. Firestar. Tigerstar. She shivered at the thought of Tigerstar. Rushpaw actually didn't mind Arrowfrost at all.
Ooc~ can Arrow frost be Rushpaws mentor or
Fawnflare? -
Sure.))
-
Dunecloud looks at Arrowfrost.
That always draws you out here?
He asks, wondering why the other tom was out here tonight.
For me it's the peacful quietness of night, the blanket of darkness that covers the world. The fact that before I close my eyes, I see my mother and father, Firestar, Bluestar, all the warriors of StarClan gazing down at me, then, I know I'm safe with them, that we will always be in the paws of StarClan, I know they will never leave us.
He murmured closing his eyes. Dunecloud had had this obsession with StarClan ever since his parents died in a rogue ambush when his parents were on a border patrol. Both had bled to death right in front of their son's eyes. The last word Dunecloud's mother uttered was, "I--love--yo.." But she died before finishing her sentence, Dunecloud, then Dunepaw had stood over his mother, horror-stricken and crushed with grief. His father had died instantly, his shoulder, flank and stomach viciously ripped open by a blood-thirsty rogue. Dunecloud vowed to get the rogues who killed his parents, but never found them, for he had not known their identity and forevermore grieved for his lost family.
-
He stared at Dunecloud, then smiled. He stretched, and was just getting off the rock when there was a horrible screeching noise. Something bowled him over, and he saw black eyes.
"Badger!" He yelled at the top of his lung, but could barely hear himself.
He wriggled free before feeling teeth slice into his tail. He lunged at the badger's shoulders, and swatted at it's head. It pinned him, and sliced his paw, then got a hold of his neck. Arrowfrost let out a choking cry. -
"Arrowfrost!!" Fawnflare screeched, then flung herself at the badger. She sunk her teeth into it's neck while digging her claws into it's back, balancing on top of it.
-
The badger let go of Arrowfrost, but turned and gave Fawnflare a quick bite. Arrowfrost ran for the nursery, hoping to see that his two friends were okay.
-
Rushpaw screamed. As A former kit she hadn't learned anything yet. "Help!" The badget was already charging after her scrawny body. Soon it had ripped off half of the kittens ace and had broken her back. Before she knew it she was on the ground crying and bleeding. Why this! As An Apprentice! Was i not meant to live to be a warrior?
-
Fanwflare's eyes glistened with rage as she lunged herself at the badger. She bit it's neck, hard, then slashed at it's eyes. The badger managed to do a good blow to her ear, pretty much slicing it off, then it ran off, leaving Fawnflare with tons of scratched and a quarter of an ear.
