  • Sita yowled with surprise at all the noises around her. Then, her eyes flashed open. She saw her parents and the strange other lion.

  • Ash roared in pain and dropped Sita. Ajax, however, was still tightly clamped in her jaws. She dashed off, Ajax crying in fear and pain. Mara stepped on Ash's tail, but she whipped around and slashed Mara down her left eye. Ash disappeared in the bushes. (Sorry I took so long.)

  • (It's fine.)

Ajani snarled, blinded in his right eye. He ran a few steps after Ash, but stopped, panting slightly, glaring in the direction she had ran. He turned and walked slowly into the den, blood dripping from his eye. "Are you okay, Mara?" he asked gently, looking over at his mate.

  • " I think so. But... She ran off with Ajax! We have to go after her! " Mara growled bravely, wiping the blood off of her face with a paw. She perked her ears, licking Sita a few times. Ash thundered out of the bushes as she crossed the border of the territory.

She ran swiftly, Ajax dangling from her jaws in an awkward position. " Put me down! " he squealed, flailing his claws. Ash leaped over a small stream and kept going.

  • Ajani lowered his head, licking a paw and wiping it gently over his eye. "I know we do. But who knows what kind of army she could have built up since her exile?" he meowed quietly, staring at the ground. "We need to know what we're dealing with before we charge in there." he reasoned. He glanced over at Mara, sad and angry and solemn at the same time.

  • Ash surged past Lavi in a blur of color. She looked over her shoulder and growled at Lavi, a sly smile plastered to her face.

Mara sighed. " Alright. We should send someone to follow Ash and spy on her. We could use mud to mask their scent. Ash would never smell them coming. " she suggested.

  • "But who?" Then Ajani brightened up. "Abena! He's great at stealth." he suggested, turning and brushing past Mara to the entrance of their den.

  • Mara nodded, " Good idea. We should send him now, while Ash's scent is fresh. " she said, following Ajani to their den. Mara flicked Sita's ear softly with the tip of her tail. " Come here, darling. I'll explain everything. " she whispered.

  • Ajani nodded, stepping up onto the elevated rock. "Abena!" he roared.

Abena jumped to his paws, scaring away a gazelle he was hunting. He groaned, turning towards the king and padding towards the rock. "Yes?" he asked.

"Ash is back. I need you to go track her. Use mud to hide your scent." Ajani instructed.

"Okay." Ajani said, like he had done it a thousand times before. He turned and headed for the watering hole, where the only hope of mud would be.

  • Sita followed Mara closely. She was nervous and scared.

The white lioness jumped out of the grass, panting "Ash----Ajax----gone." Lavi said between breaths. She threw her kill into the pile and waited for a response.

Nezza turned to look up at Ajani. "What's going on?"

  • Ajani looked down at Nezza. "Ash invaded Mara ad I's den and took Ajax." he answered simply, blood starting to crust around his eye.

Abena looked over at the scene, sighing. He rolled over in the mud, securely coating his pelt with the heavy, goopy stuff. "Well, we're off to see the wizard." he muttered under his breath, following Ash's trail quietly.

  • "No. I've already sent Abena to spy on Ash and return to us with news." If the poor sap returns at all. he thought of the unspoken fear.

  • Iceveins took over Ash. She came back and took Ajax. Abena has been sent out to find her. Ash clawed both Mara and Ajani' s eyes. Striker and Kira went to find her brother. That's about it.
