Jadeyn was shocked to hear that one of the Clan's cats was killed but she barely knew anything about the Clan's ways so she wasn't sure what to do. She looked at Oakpaw to each one of the cats and back at Bunnypaw without a word.

Jadeyn's fur bristled with unease. What was she going to do now? she realized that now, she should have stayed in her twoleg nest. She would have been safe, warm and happy but now, there was a feeling of curiosity arousing in the she-cat. "Well, I can't go back now, can I?" She meowed quietly to Greenleaf.

A heart of a warrior.. Jadeyn stared at Greenleaf for a moment longer before looking down at her own paws. The words of the she-cat kept replaying in her mind. The heart o a warrior.. but, how was she going to prove to them that she has the heart of a warrior? kittypets couldn't become a warrior cat, at least, she thought. Her ear twitched and she looked up at Purepaw. "A snake?" Was all she said. How could a snake rip out a cats throat? maybe it was a fox. She had heard stories of foxes roaming the forest but never really gave it much thought.

Jadeyn looked at Snakeheart for a few moments and then, her eyes widened suddenly. Is that what Purepaw meant when she had said 'Snake'? No, it couldn't have been, a warrior would never murder another cat in cold blood, especially when the cats were in the same Clan, right?

Jadeyn looked at Purepaw and flicked her tail. Now, she knew. It really was Snakeheart who had killed that she-cat. Jadeyn padded over to Purepaw and whispered, "Why would he kill one of his Clan mates?" She made sure her voice was only heard by Purepaw, in case any of the other cats might grow curious, including Snakeheart. "It doesn't make sense," she added.

Jadeyn looked back at Snakeheart for a moment. If he did kill her, which he did, Jadeyn was going to find out why, she had to. She realized that she couldn't leave, not now. She was a part of the Clan, well, sort of. Who had he killed before that made him kill an innocent she-cat? and why would he need to cover his tracks? each question that Jadeyn asked herself, made her more and more curious.

Jadeyn looked at Greenleaf and smiled. "But, how can I have the heart of a warrior when I have no warrior blood? I'm not one of you, just a house pet," she meowed. The voice of Leopardtooth made her look in the massive warrior's direction but she said nothing, only flicked her ear as if she had nothing to say to the warrior.
