  • The tom nodded, looking thoughtful. "I have heard a few things about them." Bluestreak looked puzzled for a moment. "You two are their kits?"

  • Sunburst rolled her powerful shoulders in a shrug. She had fallen silent awhile ago, just to listen. Her ears twitched and she glanced behind her, her eyes narrowed.

  • Bluestreak didn't wait for a response. Tipping his head to the side, the large tom pushed his mouse forward with his paw and gestured to the two strangers. "It's cold out here," he mewed kindly. "This'll warm you up."

  • Kikipaw hissed venomously at Bluestreak's simple act of kindness and screamed "GET AWAY FROM ME!" before disappearing back into the cave.

Kokopaw rolled his kind emerald eyes. "Thank you." he smiled at Bluestreak. "But it is your catch. You should eat after your hard work. Oh and yes, we are Jailbird and Jadesparkle's kits." He turned to Sunburst. "Are you all right? My sister can be quite...." he searched desperately for a kind, but fitting way of putting it.

  • "Rude?" Sunburst murmured. Her tail flicked nochalantly. "Its' quite alright. I deal with cats worse than her." She stood and wrapped her tail around a back leg, concealing something on her leg.

  • "It's fine." Sunburst snapped. She stepped back a bit and lowered her head. "Sorry." She murmured quietly. Her tail tightened around her leg, refusing to budge.

  • Bluestreak blinked, peering into the cave. Sympathy flooded through him; clearly something had happened to make Kikipaw so touchy. The blue-gray tom shook his head and fluffed out his fur, trying to warm himself from the breeze that buffeted him.

  • Kokopaw nodded, sensing that Sunburst didn't want to tak about it. After all, his sister was like that. "S'ok." he murmured softly. He saw Bkuestreak fluffing up his fur and added: "Would you guys like to come inside? It's warmer, and we have food. Kikipaw can hunt."

  • Sunburst raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure your sisterxwon't mind?" She asked kindly, her fur having already been fluffed around her. A strong wind whipped across her, making her shudder.

  • I really should be heading back to camp. The large tom told himself. Bluestreak glanced to the mouse he had caught earlier and scooped it up in his jaws. "Thank you, staying for a few moments wouldn't be bad," he mumbled around the prey that was in his jaws then slipped inside the cave and away from the harsh wind.

  • Kokopaw smiled. "I can reason with her." he said, a little uncertainly. "Plus, you are cold and need somewhere to stay. That comes first." He headed inside, leaving Sunburst no choice but to follow him.

Kikipaw raised her eyebrow and sat up as Bluestreak came in. She stared at him, inky-black eyes full of hostility, but she didn't try to get him to leave. "What did you think of my parents?" she asked, her sharp voice cutting through the silence like a knife.

  • The large tom noticed the young cat's harsh tone, but didn't let it show. He settled down across the other side of the cave with his prey and stretched out his hind legs. After munching on the rodents for a few heartbeats, Bluestreak swiped his tongue over his jaw. "I didn't really know them," he admitted. "I'm not too judgmental anymore, at least not anymore. All I know is that they both ended up leaving."

  • Sunburst heaved an inward sigh, following Kokopaw into the cave. She had to admit, it was a lot warmer in there than outside. She sat on her haunches, trying not to bother Kikipaw. Her blue eyes were sharp, however, keeping an eye on the entrance to the cve.

  • Bluestreak continued munching away on his mouse before nudging it away with a paw. He tended to only finish half of a meal before leaving it, in case some other cat wanted to share it.

  • Kikipaw growled. "My father did not leave, he was cast out for something he did not do." She turned rapidly back to Sunburst. "And you? What did you think?"

Kokopaw sighed and looked apologetically at Bluestreak.

  • "I though nothing of it. It was their own business, so I stayed out of it." Sunburst replied calmly, her tail twitching. She watched Kikipaw carefully, her cold blue eyes cautious.

  • Bluestreak flicked his ears at Kokopaw in acknowledgment that he had tried to apologize for his sisters sharp tongue. He swiped his tongue around his scarred muzzle then proceeded to rasp it over one of his large paws, listening to the other cats around him.

  • Kokopaw noticed Bluestreak's scars as he shuffled closer. "Do those scars hurt?" he whispered softly. "I have some ointment that might help."

Kikipaw growled, for once lost for words. "I hate Snowclan." she hissed finally after a long, agonizing pause.

  • Sunburst shrugged, her gaze calm. "Why do you think I left?" She murmured to herself, knowing full well why. Snowclan was rude to her, calling her names and shunning her. So she had left. Her fur ruffled up, keeping warm air trapped to her body but revealing a jagged scar. She shifted so it wasnt visible to the others, resting her head on her paws.
