• [fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth= 0px; overflow: auto; width: 400px; opacity: 1.00][sup]out of the three herbs that espresso had pulled out, friendlykit only recognized one of them - honey. "that one, it uh - " she paused a moment, her eyes narrowing slightly as she inspected the orange amber substance. "i think it helps your throat. its honey, right?"

parting her pale silver maw, she took in a deep breath and let the scents of the numerous herbs around her reach her mouth. a smile pulled on her muzzle as she inhaled the relaxing essences of the many flowers and leaves kept in the stores around her. again, she had left her mind wander into another world. snapping back to reality, she inspecting the other herbs hoping to imprint their looks into her mind for future reference.

  • Smiling with approval, Carriepaw motioned for Cargopaw and the other cat to join her in the group. Might as well get rid of her nervousness, or risk being a fool in front of everybody. Feeling a little rushed, the white she-cat turned her attention to the herbs. "Why not start out with the basics first?" she suggested towards her teammates, giving each a delicate grin. She glanced over at the marigold, and flicked her tail towards it. "That one's easy, it's marigold. I've grown up living in marigold fields before I was accepted into Sunclan," she explained. "It helps cure and prevent infection, helps stiff joints, and stops minor bleeding." "You guys pick one now."

( for the guys that won the session, making the thread. c: )

Espresso nodded with a small smile at those who answered correctly. [b]"Any questions?"

    -- friendlykit

"yes, actually if you're not to busy." quietly she called espresso before continuing her question, "where can they be found?" herbs had no use if you could not locate them.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; ][sub]"Can I come with you?" Darcy skipped towards his new mentor with a questioning smile. He had turned his attention from Nicolet, Icebreaker, and now it was on Espresso's soft blue pelt.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px]Lifting an ivory paw, the silvery blue thug cleared his throat and murmured, "Miss Espie? I have one if that's okay," He placed the paw back down beside the other, both close to his body in an elegant fashion, "About honey? Isn't it hard to find?" Blinking his mustard yellow eyes, the tom awaited an answer or response, his maw quivering with anticipation. He'd only ever seen and heard of it once in his life time, and that was saying something clearly.

  • "Of course, Darcy." Espresso purred before she nodded in reply Tenpaw. "It is, yes, and there's always the danger of bears, since they love honey - oh, and bees." she replied.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; ][sub]"BEARS?!" Darcy whimpered. He had heard of bears, big, lumbering creatures. Could kill a cat in one swoop of the paw. "..." He squeaked and hid under Espresso's paws. "That's so d-d-dangerous!"

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px]He nodded in thanks before shutting up, giving the Medic a break. Although these sessions were sometimes necessary, they must be a big pain in the a*s! Numerous cats, endless questions-- you never really got much a break, did you?

Bears and bees? That sounds like honey was heavily guarded. He definitely wouldn't go and get that, unless of course needed. Rasping a tongue over his chest a few times, Tenpaw thought more about the honey and its uses. Soothing a sore throat, sure. It doesn't go on cuts or anything, right? It was sticky, so maybe if there was a surplus, it would be good material to use as a paste. Like for the cobwebs and other things, honey could probably be a pretty reliable glue, if it wasn't so scarce.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth= 0px; overflow: auto; width: 400px; opacity: 1.00][sup]parting her mouth in consideration, the silver tabby pondered repeating her question. within seconds she quietly closed it again - patience was a virtue. espresso was sure to answer the question soon. besides, the medic was obviously very busy and friendlykit knew it would be hard to keep up with so many cats throwing their questions at her.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0pt]Alright you little f*cker! Here's you chance to become a medicine cat, whoop! Whoop! cheated the cold spirit of Casperlight. Celetrialpaw just frowned as he walked towards the herb training. Why him? Why was he stuck with the former medicine cat? And to make it worst Casperlight was a complete bitch. The black and white male just yawned as he rolled his eyes at the spirit as he continued to walk. The son of Mistypaw looked around widely as he tried to see if there was anyone he knew that could possibly help him ignore the demon. Looking around he noticed Espresso and walked over silently. "May I please have a recap on what's going on?" Celetrialpaw said happily.

She cast an enchanted smile towards Darcy, thankful that someone came to the rescue and invited ot grup with her. "I would love to. Thanks!" Icebreaker padded over gently with a purr and curiously sat beside her partner for the tryouts, awaiting a chance to answer questions or some sort. She really didn't know what to do; act like a know-it-all or be patient to find the right time to prove herself worthy. Hmm, possibly the last option would fit fine.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; border:hidden]"Why not start out with the basics first?" Cargopaw's clan mate suggested. Eagerly, Cargopaw gave a few quick nods of her head. "Okay!" she mewed cheerfully. The cream mink's baby blue eyes followed the flick of Carriepaw's tail. What's that? she thought as the flick of Carriepaw's tail led to a pretty orangey-yellow flower. To be honest, she had never been to the Medicine Den in her whole life because her role-player was too busy to make her visit. "That one's easy, it's marigold. I've grown up living in marigold fields before I was accepted into Sunclan," Carriepaw explained. "It helps cure and prevent infection, helps stiff joints, and stops minor bleeding. You guys pick one now."

Cargopaw gave another few quick nods of her head. "I'll pick one!" she offered excitedly. And with that, her baby blue gaze searched thoroughly throughout the various sections of herbs and stopped on a few leaves of green. "Ooh! I know that one! It's catmint, isn't it?" Cargopaw mewed, twisting her head around to look at Carriepaw.

IC;;Wow, what a great help she was. She knew all there was to know on burdock root but all the other herbs were lost on her. She liked that lavender plant though. It was purple and pretty. She longed to sniff it for she was sure it would probably smell wonderful. If it smells good then it must do good. Time to take a wild guess. "Does that l-lavender plant cure infections or, um, help with disease?" she guessed hopefully.

Onekit, who had dozed off because her roleplayer had to go skating, sat up with a jot, worry crossing her features as she realized how much she missed. "Ms. Espie? I missed so much, I'm truly worried that I did not hear something important," She whispered softly, her blue eyes blinking rapidly as she gazed at the lovely figure of the medic.

    [/fancypost]

  • "We got the private training, along with Nitrogen's group!" Atticus nearly squealed, grinning like an idiot in Onekit's direction. The young tom then looked back at the herbs, studying a rather twisted looking root. Hmm.. what was that? The young tom flicked his tail, tilting his head to the side slightly and grinning as he thought.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0]

"Wait? We did! Awesome! I'm so happy!" The British torbie squealed, gently attempted to embrace her new found friend with a content smile. Perhaps she still had a chance within this competition, even if she had been one most would call 'inactive' threw the most part of it.

"Um...M-Miss Espresso? Why do you use catmint when it drugs others? A-And if you don't mind, w-what is chervil?" young Arthur asked politely, blinking up at who seemed to be becoming his idol figure. Only thing was... where was he?

The little tabby was far off to the side, scared of the large crowd formed around his idol. Scary.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px]So many cats throwing questions like darts at Espresso, she must be taking it rough. Poor Espie-- hopefully this will be over soon, she might break. Chuckling under his breath, the blue tabby simply listened in with perked ears for the answers to all these cats questions. He himself didn't know the correct responses, so all and all, he was learning. That's what he came here for, isn't it?

Sitting with his paws pulled close to his body and plume wrapped elegantly over his paws, he tightened the grip of his tail and inhaled a sharp breath; was she going to pick her apprentice from one of the two groups she'd give a private session for? Maybe it was narrowing it down? Gah, he shouldn't think like that, pessimism is never the way to go. A delicate smile laced across his maw as he made an attempt to be more joyous and tranquil. It's all good, Tenpaw. No need to worry.
