• Hearing Carripaw, the brown tabby pricked her ears and turned around. "I can, if thats okay with you." She meowed, offering herself as an assist.

Arthur nodded, tail tip twitching. His brain jerked into focus, nose twitching. The tabby's gaze floated over to the small stock. "Comfrey...I've heard of it before. Um... stiff joints and broken bones?" he inquired, trying to catch it's scent.

As a random cat appeared, Arthur flinched. Was she trying to ruin their plans? Eavesdrop for her group? "U-um M-Miss? W-What are you d-doing?"

Espresso looked to Wishfulthinking for some help; she didn't know training could be so hectic, there was even a cat randomly singing jingle bells. Her ear twitched before she turned, closing her eyes before opening them once more with a slight smile at Nitrogen. "Has Story taught you about herbs? Can you please tell me the uses for them?" the medic asked sweetly before glancing at the crowd. "For those who just joined, please find a group of cats and ask them what's going on," Espresso replied, not wanting to be swamped with questions. She flinched at Terrakit's questions, blinking. "Wishfulthinking can help you with that." said the pretty she-cat quickly.

Mourning Dove, the Silverblood arrived with a slight chuckle, sitting next to her son-in-law and grandson quietly, watching in amusement at Espresso's slight stress and timid movements.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px]"Nope, none."

Tenpaw nodded in agreement, "Yeah, that's what I was saying. It has that crisp, fresh smell. It's nice~" The blue tabby chirped with amusement, "I don't know much else, sorry guys," Casting a pained, yellow glance to both of his partners, the thug simply shrugged it off. Don't get yourself down, it's just a game.

He attempted to fill his empty optics with a joyous light by turning to the she kit they were working with, "Is there anything else that has to do with flowers that you know about?" Tenpaw licked his maw a few times and sat his silvery blue rump down on the ground of the shed, wondering if they were done. Team No Name, finished. Shrugging off the competition yet again, he waited anxiously for Terrakit to say more. She knew loads, more than he would ever know. And for such a young age? She deserved to be an Impressionist for sure!

    [sup]friendlykit - five moons - sunclan

"i'd work with you if you still need a group," she approached carriepaw, a short greeting escaping her lips, "i'm friendlykit." she flicked her amber eyes back at the sunclan medic for a short moment before directing her attention back to carriepaw as she awaited the other she-cat's response.

"Rush can be used to mend a broken limb.. juniper berries soothe an aching stomach, mousebile makes ticks fall off cause it's stinky." The kitten grinned, waving a paw in front of his face with amusement. "Coltsfoot is given to cats who can't brea-- no.. are having trouble breathing." Atticus frowned, correcting himself before he missled anyone listening in. Pulling a paw up to his face, and counting things in his head, Atticus spoke again. "Borage leaves are given to pregnant or nursing females.. they're a little blue flower.. I.. think." Atticus peeked around Onekit again, pointing out the little blue flower to Onekit so she could see, tilting his head to the side in slight question.

"You can use feverfew for cats who have chills, fever or.. the 'shakes'." The small kitten giggled at his own word, that's what his mother told him when he was younger. "I think.. honey.. can.. be used.." Atti paused, swiping his tongue over his lips silently. "Umm.. I forgot what it was used for.. but.. I know it's sticky and sweet when you eat it."

  • Seeing the medic being a bit stressed she backed away and dipped head towards the medic with respect that she could put up with this so easily.

Icebreaker padded up slowly and pawed at the soil, looking around helplessly. Oh how she yeared to join the training session, being that she was still youngly apprentice aged, the brave calico decided and made up her mind, letting out a light smile and greeting to Espresso.

"Hi. I hope you don't if I participate as well." Really, fighting with claws and tooth wasn't her thing. She would always hunker down after slashing at another soul and feeling within her heart that it was wrong to harm someone else. Maybe- just possibly- the Silverblood team would allow her to join in and live a violence free life.

At her younger age Icebreaker, Glacier then, resided in ScarClan with her mother and father. They loved her very dearly for she could tell. Yet once when they all had decided to play hide and seek, a passing rouge pack found the excited hiding kit and had whispered amongst themselves to steal it for future working paws. Her parents didn't hear their daughter's screams and scent her dripping tears as she had been carried away from home.

Icebreaker had some how escaped the rouges, and relied on nature itself for about half a moon. Every so often she would fall upon prey that was dug up in a hole that had been forgoten about or the food had just went off and died of age or whatever reason. Never the less, the young abandoned orphan would gobble up any meal that came across her path. She was starved, and taste didn't matter then.

To pass the time of lonelyness she would lay leaves and sticks around and decorate abandoned badge dens to make them like an operation room where the young Icebreaker would then pretend that the twigs were patients and the leaves were healing herbs, just like she had saw back in ScarClan with her friend who was a healer apprentice at young age.

Around the apocalypse days when disasters were as common as dandelions in a soft untouched meadow, she had been driven with fear on her tiny running legs in the direction of SunClan from the acid rain that was pushing towards the group. Colouredstar had found the starved and shaking calico kit and took Icebreaker under his wing until she was ready to become an apprentice.

Icebreaker shook the htought of her past away and concentrated on proving to Espresso, WIshfulthinking, and the rest of the gang that she was eager and active enough to withhold the honorable position even though she had went through bitter training of warriorship. At Espresso's next works Icebreaker turned around slowly, flicking her silky tail against the comforting ground and searched for a willing cat to take her into their group.

  • (welp sorry guys my internet was being mean uwu
also, this is retro, as annie isn't back yet though it will be soon /shot)

her sea green optics blinked slowly at the chaos inside the medic's den. then she heard the squealing of kittens answering questions frantically, and the smooth voice of espresso answering them warmly. herb training. espie must be a full medic now, and possibley choosing apprentices. looking like she was late, the rather insane thug stepped shyly into the room, biting her lip slightly at the sight of many cats. annie didn't do well with crowds. the room began to spin, her mind swimming, but she shook her head in detirmination. "h-i. sorry i'm late," the short-time former riverclanner said hoarsely, glancing to her father and sitting down in the far corner.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; ][sub]"Icebreaker!" Darcy called out to his new aunt. She was his aunt now, right? Because she was mates with Uncle Frosty? Yeah, that must be her. "Aunty, wanna group with me?!" The red tabby meowed, leaving Nicolet's side and bounding towards the calico. "I'm already an apprentice, so I don't know if I can be in a group, but if you need someone..." He twirled his tail and looked up at her hopefully.

  • Willis nodded at Tenpaw. "Yeah, I don't know too much either, apart from the things you guys named before I could," he mewed with a small huff of amused laughter. He looked around at any remaining herb to see if he had one more ounce of herbal knowledge to squeeze out of him.

"What does mint do?" he asked. "Anyone know? I mean I know it smells great, but if it's an herb it probably heals something right? Sore throats maybe? Stuffy nose?"

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px]Nitrogen knew so much! And Atticus as well! What, did these cats live in the den? Jeez, Tenpaw barely knew anything compared to this lot of SunClanners, he felt so out of place. Even the youngest of kits could list twice as many as him.

Ah, well, he could only do so much, right? The blue tabby hoped his enthusiasm would make up for his knowledge, or there lack of. He wanted to learn the herbs-- he really did. But the failure to come prepared to this thread, as it seemed every other cat did, made him feel so minuscule. A little piece of prey among predators, even.

Clearing his throat, Tenpaw discovered he knew one more herb, "Mint? I'm honestly not sure. But there's another one, traveling herbs. Sorta' self explanatory though," He chuckled under his breath, looking to his team. Hopefully they found this as amusing as him. Mint-- what did it do? Maybe Will was right when he suggested sore throats and stuffy noses, but all Ten could think about was fresh breath.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0]
"Hmm, I'll choose two groups; Atticus and Nitrogen's groups, congrats, you'll be having a session with me later. I don't want to confuse the new cats coming in." the medic purred before waving to Icebreaker with her tail. "Nice to finally meet you!" she chirped before smiling at Annie with perked ears before shifting and trying to think of something to do before pulling out some honey, chamomile, and lavender, her favorite herbs. "What do these do?" she inquired before smiling at Annie.

Mourning Dove watched her daughter teach, amused.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0pt]Alright you little f*cker! Here's you chance to become a medicine cat, whoop! Whoop! cheated the cold spirit of Casperlight. Celetrialpaw just frowned as he walked towards the herb training. Why him? Why was he stuck with the former medicine cat? And to make it worst Casperlight was a complete bitch. The black and white male just yawned as he rolled his eyes at the spirit as he continued to walk. The son of Mistypaw looked around widely as he tried to see if there was anyone he knew that could possibly help him ignore the demon. Looking around he noticed Espresso and walked over silently. "May I please have a recap on what's going on?" Celetrialpaw said happily.

  • Willis smiled as Tenpaw pointed out the obvious use of traveling herbs. "Yeah, pretty much," he replied. He looked at all the cats who knew enough to pass as actual medics themselves---like that Nitrogen guy. He was the son of two medics, but still, how did he know so much?

And then it was announced. He wasn't terribly surprised that his group wasn't picked. Nitrogen and Atticus' groups were far more superior in the herbal department. He gave a small sigh, "Oh well, it was fun at least!"

Nitrogen's whiskers twitched. "First time doing this? Do you mean all the herbs, or just the ones I named? I can do the ones I named anyway." Glancing at the herbs he said,"poppy seeds, as I said, take away pain. Burdock heals infected wounds, mainly rat bites. Comfrey can be used for broken bones or soothe wounds. Dock, you chew it into a poultice to heal minor wounds. Honey for sore throats caused by smoke inhalation. Goldenrod also good for wounds. Lavender for the dead. Traveling herbs are self-explanatory. Wild garlic often prevents infection."

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px]Oh, that was something Tenpaw knew for sure. Although he did know the name and use for this one, surprisingly, the thug wanted to give other cats a try this time. Annie was new; he'd let her get one too. Including everyone and sharing was better than being a hog. The blue tabby bit his tongue to refrain from answering, his politeness demanding control.

"We did good guys, haha," He bumped shoulders with his teammates before turning his gaze back to the Medic. That was fun! Trying to figure out which herb was which, the names and uses. Too bad this wasn't a regular thing, though-- would be loads of fun and a total hit for the younger cats.

  • the scrawny black cat met espresso's half blind bambi eyes with her own, and she blinked in awe at the smile. letting out a nervous cough, she glanced to the herbs. they were espie's favorite. she wasn't a stalker, but...kennedy had loved the medic after all, and talked so much about her. "honey is for sore throughts, usually with smoke inhalation," she murmured quietly from the back of the crowd. "lavender is used for fever, i know that, but...i feel like there's something else i'm missing..." thinking about the last herb, a daisy, she flattened her ears slightly in frustration.

"...that's chamomile." her voice was still soft, so she wouldn't give it away for the others. "...f-for the heart."

"Well, that was fun! I sure learned a few herbs, and maybe I can use them in things I design and work on. See you later, and thanks Miss Espresso!" The feline called, then turned and headed out of the room beside Tenpaw. "I'm going to go see the Impressionists now!" Terrakit declared, and darted off.

Arthur's green orbs lit up happily. "Thank you," the small apprentice bowed to Nitrogen, offering a small smile. "You've taught me a lot today. I hope we can be friends outside of this." the blonde tom was thrilled at the thought of having a private with the medic, and was grateful for the new information he'd learned.
