  • Micah shook his head. "You may have me pinned, clan kitty." he said with a grin, then slid out of her grasp. "But you will never catch Micah the loner!" he said, runnign away, bounding up a hill until he was standing upon a rock which was imbedded two or three feet above the ground. He smiled and looked up at the sky, letting the wind ruffle his light fur majestially. "No one can keep me tied down!"

  • "Crazy tom!" Boulderfur yelled up to him, but inside she felt a spark of admiration. "Well then, are you leaving? Just like that?" She asked, disappointed.

  • Micah shrugged noncommitedly. "Maybe. Maybe not. I don't know." he said, bounding down from the rock. He nodded to her once, then said, "Give my best to your tom." before bounding away, eaving her in an empty clearing, with only the freshkill for company.

  • ooc: You said, "Give my best to your tom." LOL!!!

Boulderfur sadly watched him leave then called out, "Micah! Wait!"

  • ooc: But she doesn't have a boyfriend! Unless you count the crush on Micah... :-[

Boulderfur sadly watched him leave then called out, "Micah! Wait!"

  • ooc: EXACTLY! He assumed that she DID have one, which is why he sort of pulled away.

Micah looked back at the clearing for a seconds, playfull memories leaping through his mind before he forges foreword.

  • Boulderfur paced, agitated, before racing after him. After several exhausting bounds, she caught up with him, and tackled him from behind. "Got you!" She yowled, tumbling through the undergrowth. After she had got up, shaking dirt from her pelt, Boulderfur meowed, "Stop!"

  • Boulderfur's pelt burned with embarrassment. "Two things, loner. One, I don't got a tom! And two, well...er...I was just wondering if you could, um, meet me at the...the Lightning Tree at Twilight tomorrow. It's near the clearing where we met, and it looks like a jagged black talon, cause it was burned and charred to shreds by that lightning strike, see? I need to see you again. Please!" She shuffled her paws, gazing into his warm eyes.

  • Boulderfur grinned. "Not if I see you first!" Then she scrambled out of his grip and raced off into the trees, taking one last glance at his gleaming pelt.Once in camp, she headed immediately towards the warriots den, as the nightime shadows began to get longer and more menacing. As she settled in her nest, Boulderfur was bubbling with excitement. But the events of the day had exhoausted her, and she soon crashed into sleep. The forgotten prey in the clearing never even crossed her mind.

ooc: can I introduce another characcter? Boulderfur's sister? She can spy on boulderfur and then find out about her love afair!

  • ooc: Go ahead! Sounds fancy.....

Micah watched her leave, the bushes whispering as they consumed her shining pelt. After the tip of her tail dissapeared, he bounded away, filled with a strange feeling. Eveything was happier. He felt better, and everything seemed new, fun and good.

  • Petalfrost had been awakened by her sister's entrance into the warriors den, and she peered through one eye suspiciously as Boulderfur settled into her nest. Where has she been all day? Petalfrost thought groggily, but only pondered over the possibilities briefly before drifting back into the waters of sleep.

When Boulderfur opened her eyes, bright sunlight was pouring into the den. Oh no! She thought in alarm, springing to her paws, with bits of moss sticking out of her pelt. It can't be sunhigh already? Boulderfur yawned, and could not ignore the nagging tiredness about her. But once she had shaken away her sleepiness as best she could, Boulderfur slipped out of the empty warriors den into the busy, Sun-washed clearing. After a quick grooming, she padded up to Goldenrose, the deputy. "Any chance I can tag on a patrol?" she asked hopefully. I might see Micah again!

But Goldenrose shook her head. "No, the dawn patrol left ages ago, and so did our first hunting patrol. You'll just have to wait. Besides, you look like you haven't gotten a wink of sleep in moons!"

Boulderfur smiled sheepishly. "I-I spent a lot of time yesterday hunting." And then left all that I caught for the foxes, She tought shamefully. Boulderfur shuffled her paws, "And then I overslept, that's all. Oh well, I'll catch the next patrol. Thanks." Boulderfur turned away and lay down in the sun on the far side of the clearing. No sooner had she closed her eyes when she sensed a cat beside her, and a familiar scent tickled her nose. "What is it, petalfrost?" She murmered sleepily.

"i was just wondering where you were all day yesterday."

Boulderfur's heart skipped a beat. "Er...I was hunting."

"I didn't see you bringing anything back."

"How could you see me? you were in the warriors den!"

"Then what's that strange smell on your pelt? It smells like another cat. Just not from any cat I know..."

Boulderfur leaped to her paws. Why hadn't she thought of concealing Micah's scent? And now she would be found out! "It's not of your beeswax," She growled, "I just brushed close to the border. Plenty of strange scents there." She tried to act dismissive.

    "Really?" Pedalfrost stepped closer.

    "Really, Pedalfrost!"

"I think you got close to a cat. Too close. How could you, Boulderfur?!" There was the hint of a snarl in her voice.

Boulderfur backed away, startled. "Don't go jumping to conclusions. I said I got real close to the border, didn't I? That's loner land. There could've been a cat that passes by before I did, and I might've picked up their scent."

    Pedalfrost did not soften. "Liar!"

Boulderfur did not respond. Tears stinging her eyes, she raced across the clearing and bolted out into the forest. There she sat under a willow tree, and stared at a pool of water, her head swirling with emotions.

  • Micah awoke to the sun in his eyes, and he groaned slightly, turning around in his hollow tree. The moss surrounding him seemed to be prickly and uncomfortable, and he stood up, irritated. He bent down and squeezed through the small whole at the bottom of the tree, the easiest way out of the trunk. It had taken him ages to find, and was much better then trying to jump through the top. He padded over to the river drowsily, lapping the cool water, exhausted.

ooc: do you want them to be at the same river or no?

  • ooc: Yes, yes!

Boulderfur's tears fell into the river, making ripples. After a while though, she stood up straight, and shook her head. Come on, Boulderfur! Be strong. You're not some weeping queen. Or are you? Boulderfur sighed, and looked sideways. She almost choked on her shock. There, a ways down stream, she could see the dark figure of a cat. Micah? She squinted, leaning forward. Yes! That's him! For a second, she forgot how to breath. Should she call him? What would she say? Or should she just stay quiet until he left? What good would seeing him now do, anyway?

  • Micah looked down at the usually calm stream then looked up when the water underneath him rippled. He scanned the river, stopping the silhouette of a cat further down the river. he scented the air, trying to suppress the hope in his gut, but then smiled when he recognised Boulderfur's sweet scent. He jumped into the stream and paddled over to her steadily.

  • Boulder fur took an uncertain step forward. There was no turning back now. She padded to the edge of the bank, and waited for Micah to get to the other Side. Boulder fur waded a bit into the stream. "And what might you be doing here?" She asked. She tried to growl, but she couldn't; she was purring too hard.

  • "Well, I was getting a drink, but then I noticed my clan kitty in distress, so..."Micah said, shrugging slightly. "Should I leave?" he smirked. His body pulsed with a warm feeling brought on by her welcome. Oh, stop, Micah. Be real. You are a loner: don't tie yourself down.

  • Boulderfur swiped at his ear. "Hey, I was not in distress, Mr. Pussy! But you'll be in distress soon if you keep up that talk." She meowed, eyes twinkling.
