  • 5 minutes later, Boulderfur had caught a dwindling pile made of two mice, a vole, and a thrush. Just as she was about to consider herself done she spotted a squirrel dashing through the trees. Boulderfur dropped into a hunter's crouch, drawing her self forward...closer...closer...until she was hardly a tail length from her prey. The sky was growing dark. There was only so much time. Then, gathering her wits, she pounced and killed the squirrel before it could even twitch. Once the satisfaction and pride wore away, though, Boulderfur discovered that there was a problem. How am I going to get all this prey back to the bush?

  • Darkwish???

  • Micha killed hte raven quickly, the massive brid hanging limp from his jaws. He looked at the rest of his fresh kill, trying to hold it all for asecond in his mouth, but failed. He regarded the pile again, filled with three mice and the huge bird. He had a spark of intellegence, and he dropped hte bird to the ground, then nudged it onto his back, picking up the tree mice tails in his mouth with a grin

  • Thinking hard, Boulderfur nudged her pile of prey, wondering how she could carry it all. Then she picked up the three rodents by their tails, and rolled the thrush under her chin. Then turning to the squirrel, she sunk her claws into the creature and swung it on her back. The position was quite uncomfortable, but she could handle it. A minute later, Boulderfur burst into the clearing beside the bush and let all the prey fall to the ground; she was panting in exhaustion. Recovering, Boulderfur hopefully looked around for Micah.

  • 'oh, really?" Boulderfur growled playfully, flattening her ears at him. "You mighta got the big juicy prey, but I got more then you. See? Two mice, a vole, a thrush, and a squirrel. That's...let's see...5 prey total. Beat that!" Boulderfur swiped the air, sure she had won. Hmmm, what should the winning prize be? She asked herself. Perhaps a tuft of the other's fur? Hmmm...how bout all the prey including the other's catch? Tempting..tempting...

  • Boulderfur growled in annoyance. "You big fur ball! It doesn't matter how big the catch is. It's just one bird!-" Before she could go on, Boulderfur stopped herself. This argument could go on forever! "Tell you what?" She sighed, "Let's declare it a tie. What's the prize?"

  • Boulderfur snorted, but said nothing. "Well then, if you insist...how bout we each get to eat the other's prey?" She eyed Micah's catch hungrily. "I'm not saying you've got better stuff then me. It's just fair, you know? To switch." She nudged her pile closer to him. "A crow for a squirrel. Two mice for two mice. And that little vole, we'll split."

  • Micah smiled and nudged his pile towards her. "Take the other stuff too." he said with a grin. "You're clan needs it more then I do. I can just catch something when I get back to my den. The vole will hold me over."

  • Boulderfur felt a spark in her chest. "You mean that?" She breathed, taking a step forward. Then she shook her head. "You're so kind. But you must take something! Here, how 'bout that crow? You worked hard for it." She meowed, pushing the large bird towards him. "You deserve it. Now, just to make sure, I'm going to make you eat it right now, right here, right under my nose. Got it?" Boulderfur added, a mischievous glint in her eye.

  • Boulderfur sighed. "Fine, fine. If you insist." She stepped forward and bit a chunk out of the crow, chewing slowly. Then she pushed the bird towards Micah. "Your turn," She mumbled.

  • Boulderfur twitched her ears and took a bite, and then lifted her head, as if to nudge the crow his way, but instead she growled playfully. Then she sprang at him, tail swishing. "That was the last thing you were expecting, huh? Don't even think about saying 'no!" She laughed, tackling him.

  • Micah laughed, looking up into her beautiful eyes. Beautiful... his mind echoed. He twitched one ear, then lunged up, using his greater weight ot his advantage. "Oh come on. How stupid do you think I am?" he asked with a grin, looking down at her, smirking

  • Boulderfur blinked, her eyes huge in mock-surprise. "No!" She yowled, squirming under his strong grip. Then she went limp, a plan forming in her mind. "I surrender!" She gasped, tongue out, pretending to be defeated. "Let me go!"

  • Micah smiled and stood over her for a moment more, laughing at her shock. "If you must." he said with a smirk, feeling the wind ruffle his chest fur before he stepped away playfully.

  • Boulderfur lay there a moment, panting, a grin dancing on her lips. Then she thrust upwards, knocking into Micah and pinning him down. "Gotchya back! Ha! Surrender!" She growled playfully into his ear.
