It was quiet. The land around the lake was blanketed in a layer of soft, sparkling snow; the lake itself had a thin sheet of ice around it's edges. The sky, however, was clear. It was just a dark blue canvas dotted with brightly shining stars and a large, white moon. In the center of Shimmer Lake was a circular island which could very well be the reflection of the moon upon the lake, as it was also covered in the icy dust and the moon's true image was absent in the great, shimmering pool.
Lying among the lake's banks was a little, brown lynx point, with her head upturned towards the vastness above. The celestial bodies appeared in the two bluish green orbs on the cat's small face, twinkling ever so brightly. Sitting up a bit as something began happening in the sky, Nocturne squinted her eyes to see better. It was a star, swelling up big and bright, before disappearing suddenly in what looked like a far of explosion. Her eyes shot open as this took place, and a sense of foreboding pulsed within her. What could it mean? The to-be could only wonder.
Nocturne wished there was someone around, someone she could talk to about this, or someone she could use to get her mind off of whatever had happened.
