Pafp. Boy needed. These are the Hunger Games, but everyone is kind of like present day. The same fashion sense, and stuff like that.
Keep it appropriate, please or I will lock this thread!

My character is Elizabeth (Liz) Johnson, a fourteen year old girl with dark brown hair with blonde highlights. She has hair the length of her shoulders, and blue-green eyes.

    IC:

Liz looked around, a frightened gleam in her eye. Here in District Twelve, no one was really well fed and today was the day of her reaping. Her older brother was the one who got her family the food, and if he was chosen for The Hunger Games, then there would be no food. In District Twelve, most peacekeepers were against females hunting and wouldn't buy anything that they caught.

  • OOC:
    Sure, of course you can!

    IC:

Liz was sitting in a meadow, just sitting there, listening to the chirping birds and the rustling of leaves in the breeze. She sighed. She was wearing a beautiful light blue dress that reached to her knees. Her hair was put in a braid, elegantly done by her older brother, who, surprised her by offering to do her hair that morning.

  • Liam walked through the trees, he had- as always- retreated to the more secluded area of the outside world. It seemed it was the only place he could escape reality and his merciless brother that came along with it. His blue gaze swept the various greenery, the warmth of the suns rays sifting through the tree canopies warmed his back.
Liam stopped by a creek, taking his shirt off gingerly, exposing the long scar that stretched diagonally from his left shoulder ending at the lower right side of his hip. He went waist deep into the softly churning stream, the water lapping at the lower ends of his back, sending cool chills up his spine. He examined his chest, which suffered long, uncomfortable gashes from his 'fall' the other day. He dipped down into the stream, his blood tinting the water a deep red for a few moments before it dispersed down stream into nothing. Liam took in a small breath, dipping under, resurfacing a few seconds later. Hair plastered to his face, he ran a hand through it, mopping it out of his vision as he peered around, the fresh stinging of his wounds met with the now cold air awakened his senses and he was well aware of the chances of getting caught being outside of the boundaries... Especially today.

    OOC- thanks. :)

  • Liz glanced around and decided to pick berries. She was plucking blackberries off of a bush when she spotted a boy. In the water. "Uh... are you okay?" she murmured, seeing the large scar. Her blue-green eyes widened as she stood.

  • Liam's midnight blue gaze snapped to the girl, and he turned to face her. "Oh, um- yeah... I just, kinda, um- fell..." He muttered, using the same lie he had told his other friend. He examined her, "Do i know you?" He asked, trying to recognize her face.

  • "I go to your school," she murmured. She was popular, just not the most popular at her school. She doubted he would remember her. "I'm Liz," she said shyly.

  • "Hm, great minds think alike i suppose." He said, coming up onto the bank, retrieving his shirt. He sat up against a log, slipping it carefully on. "I see you are all dressed up." He said, his eyes tracing her from her feet, stopping at her face, locking her gaze with his.

  • She blushed and looked away. "It's the reaping. I might as well look nice if I am going to be picked," she mumbled. She was nervous, and it felt as though she had butterflies in her stomach.

  • He nodded, "Yeah... I wouldn't stress too much if i were you..." He said, standing. He never stressed too much about those things, if he was to get picked, he would have nothing to come back to, and no one to worry about returning to. "We should probably head back though.."

  • "Yeah," she muttered. She took a chance and glanced at his eyes. She glanced back at the ground after a few seconds.

  • He flashed his teeth in an amused grin, noticing her shy atmosphere. He walked over to her, almost faltering as he realized he hadn't introduced himself- what an idiot. "Oh, and my name is Liam- Liam Hensworth." He added with a sheepish smile, his eyes flashing with undecipherable emotion as he walked by.

  • Liz smiled. ''Nice name," she murmured. She walked away.

Liz followed her brother, Matt, to the place that the District 12 people gathered. Their fingers were pricked, and they got in line.

  • Liam had freshened up and had already gotten in his place. He stood, waiting as they all did every year. He glanced around to familiar faces, not looking for anything particular as his eyes swept the different figures. His eyes flicked to an approaching person, and he recognized it was his brother, James. His gaze lost its usual soft tone, and his jaw tensed as flashes of the other day ran through his mind. He shifted his weight, ready to get the day over with.

  • A woman walked onto the stage with an over dramatic explanation about how the Hunger Games started so many years ago.

Liz rolled her eyes and waited for the woman, whose name was Oceania, to pick the tributes.

Oceania plucked a folded piece of paper from the bowl.

    "Elizabeth Johnson!" she said enthusiastically.

Liz was in shock. She froze in horror.

One of her friends, Molly, started crying.

Liz was about to cry herself, but she couldn't. She couldn't look weak on television. No, not when others were watching.

"Elizabeth?" Oceania murmured into the microphone.

"It's Liz. L-I-Z." Liz mumbled, stumbling on stage.

  • Liz tried to stand up tall and fearless, she was praying that the boy tribute would not be muscular.

    OOC:
Do you want to play Oceania now? ^^

  • Ooc- yeah sure. Didn't know if you wanted to or not, some other people I have rped with are picky about it. :P

Oceania sent another glance to the selected tribute before she plucked another name and opened it. "Liam Hensworth?" She stated aloud, her voice 'graciously' echoing around in the silence.

Liam paused for only a small second, just enough time to glance at his brother who just motioned his head towards the stage. Laim stepped out, walking up the stage, stopping at Liz's side.
