Meadowstripes was hunting with her sister, Smallstride. She caught the scent of a rabbit, saw it, and gave chase. It got away because Meadowstripes saw two young kits in the grass up ahead. "Smallstride! Come here." The calico she-cat called for her sister.

"What is it Meadowstripes. Oh, they're so cute! Do you think they're mothers near here?" Smallstride asked her sister. The two looked the same, except she had a white tail whereas her sister did not.

Foxkit managed to shake his head. "No mama." He uttered. His water looged pelt wayed him down. "Swirling watee. Fast. Dead." He remsmbered.

"Do you know what they're talking about, Smallstride?" Meadowstripes asked as she moved close to Foxkit and began to dry his pelt with her tongue.

"I think their mum fell in a river and drowned.... Right?" She asked the two kits as she went to Wolfkit and began to dry the young kit.

"Mom, avandone. Us, drown, small river." His words were mixed up.

"Your mum threw you in a river? That's mean? Do you know why?" Meadowstripes asked as she curled up around Foxkit, trying to keep his body warm.

"What are your names?" Smallstride asked the two kits.

The grey one smiled. "We were thinking of our warrior names, so im telling you those. Wolfhowl and Foxtrot." Foxkitt nodded and smiled.

"Sounds like you have that all planned out. For now you two will be called Wolfkit and Foxkit. Let's go to the camp, we'll show you around." Meadowstripes informed as she led the way, walking slow enough for the kits to keep up.

Smallstride left the talking to her sister. She followed Meadowstripes and kept an eye on the two kits.

Abstractlight, an expecting queen, saw the little kits walk into the nursery. "Where's your mom?" she asked, fussing around them and making warm, soft nests. Soon she had a nice one set up and picked them up and put them there, every kit needs a soft bed![/size]

"Two leg cusses. Very bad ones." Wfkit shuddered.

Abby felt a pag of sympathy for the small kits. "Anyway, you're safe now. No need to dwell on the past. You're in WindClan, so let's make the best of it," she said sharply, not wanting the kits to be unhappy. Her silver tail swished from side to side from anger. How DARE a mother do that to her kits! she thought angrily.
