  • (nah i zoned xD )

Mara walked into town with Cha perched on her shoulder once again, she sighed softly, her stomach growled loudly, Ugh... Cha pricked her ears, then fluttered into the air toward a grove of trees. Mara stopped, waiting for Cha to return. Moments later Cha fluttered back carrying quite a few fresh picked pears and apples. MAra smiled, taking a pear and an apple from cha then patted her head, "good girl." Cha perched on MAra's shoulder again, taking a bite of a pear.

  • Clarth shrugged, "It just reminded me of something is all." She had a point, he wouldn't go looking for the herb himself, even if it weren't on a mountain. there would be more important things to do other than picking plants anyways. " and yeah, I hate cold. Among a list of other things."

  • "It's kind of in my nature," Etny said with a chuckle. "But I don't mind it. I'm a fan of any weather so long as it isn't sweltering heat." Deciding that talking was the best way to take up time while Clarth regained strength, she continued. "What else don't you like?"

  • "Extortion, corruption, liars, thieves, murderers, basically anything that goes against the basic rights of others and freely disregard laws." He sighed, "People generally. I don't keep friends, or rather i don't attempted to make any. I make allies. Friends require more up keep. People also see me a bit insufferable." He stared into the empty cup.

  • He smiled and shook his head, "I don't... nevermind not important. But here in the guild, if you go ahead and stay, just know their will be plenty of time for company. I you want to be alone you have to make a effort. " He was very pleased that the cup was filled again. The tea was to his liking. It was almost enough to keep a person around.

  • Etny chuckled. "Trust me, there are ways to force isolation in even the most public of places. I myself have surrounded myself by a personal dome of ice before. Do you like chess?" Even to Etny, the sudden conversation change surprised her, but the mention of ice reminded her of her chessboard.

  • " It is a game of strategy, you have to think before you make your move. You have to be adaptable to multiple situations. I played a lot when I was a kid due to those factors. I never found pleasure in the game however. It was more like a lesson than a game to me." Clarth blinked, was this attempt to start a game of chess? "Why? You like the game?"

  • "I love it," Etny said, eyes flashing with an excited light. "Strategy is everything to me, as brute strength isn't really my style. Don't get me wrong," she said. "I'm not weak. I'm actually quite strong for my size... But I prefer the subtle arts of planning and forethought." She put a hand out in front of her, and the ice that always coated the back of her jacket came forward and formed a chess board as well as the pieces. "I carved this from hand," she explained. "It's made from enchanted ice that doesn't melt, break, or feel cold unless I will it too. I shatter the pieces into minuscule fragments so I can always keep it with me. It can be turned to other objects, but this is it's true form."

  • Her fondness of the game made him think of his father. And Clarth couldn't figure if that was a good thing or bad. "It must be very important to you then. Memories of better times attached to it." He looked at his stone with little love. "Everyone wants something like that to hold on too." Her actually speaking to him... and the way she went about it... so naturally made him want to talk for hours even though he hated the notion.

  • "Actually, it helps me forget," Etny said. "Remembering is far too painful, especially the good memories." Her face fell slightly. "But that's of no consequence. Why don't we play a quick game? We can even play with me handicapped so the game ends sooner."

  • "I said I didn't like the game, I never said I wasn't good. I was forced to be good." Clarth cringed, "Long daunting hours playing this game..." He shook his head. What did she mean forget anyways? It had always been in his opinion it was one's duty to remember. Painful or not. Good or bad. Only when you remember and think on the past can you make up for past sins... At least that was his hope. he could not speak for her. "There is no need for a handicap."

  • Etny shrugged. "I simply figured one would make the game shorter... I haven't played against a real opponent in years," she said with an honest laugh containing no bitterness. "I've been my own opponent."

  • OOC:The fight is continuing, Etny and Clarth are training, Miya and Killa are training, Mara and Cha are doing something... And that's really all
