The boat slowly down to a stop as they arrived at the port in America. James was the first to get off the boat, the first to look around. As he stepped off the boat and onto the dock, he scanned the area. In the crowd of people who gathered by the dock, he spotted a girl. The girl was quite beautiful, quite breathtaking. I wonder who she is. he thought to himself.

Olivia Williamson, a beautiful brunette girl with warm brown eyes and pale complexion with rosy cheeks. She held a fan in her left hand that she fanned herself whenever it got too hot. She squinted up at the boat watching the people unload the boxes with interest. She knew her father and mother would never have wanted her to be here especially since some new red coats were coming to fight against her people. But she couldn't help but be curious about how the harbor worked. She walked along the harbor, her pale green dress brushing against the wood and her laced hands clutched her purse nervously eyeing some of the men. That was when she noticed James and looked at him for a moment. She recognized his uniform and hurriedly walked away suddenly tripping on her hem and falling to the dirty ground.
-
He watched as she tripped. He hurriedly walked down the dock and over to Olivia, his dark blue eyes full of concern for her. "Are you okay, Madam?" He asked, reaching his hand out to her.
-
Olivia frowned and sat up and looked into the guys eyes. "I'm fine sir. I just tripped that's all." She replied struggling to get up on her own. She didn't want her father to know she had been at the harbor let alone talking to a red coat. She gave up trying to get up herself. She looked at the hand with suspicion. "What do you want from us? Money? Food? A bed to sleep in?"
-
He gently took her hand and helped her up, a warm smile on his face.
OOC:
Why were the redcoats there again? Sorry, I learned this like three years ago; it's all a blur. -
ooc: King of Britain wanted to keep America for himself so he sent soldier over there, red coats to capture and maintain order. Rebels are the ones living in America. They fight against the red coats.
Olivia struggled a little but let him pull her up. "Thanks but I think I shall be going. My father shall be very put out if he caught me talking to a red coat soldier." She replied smoothing her expensive skirts out and brushed the dirt off. "But thank you." She replied quietly.
-
OOC:
Okay, thanks!IC:
"You're welcome." He said, smiling as she turned to go. "Wait!" He said, stepping towards her. "My apologies, but I believe I didn't catch your name. Let me introduce myself. My name is James Charleston, and you are?" He asked politely. -
She frowned quite unhappy. "Olivia Williamson. Why do you want to know anyways? You are here to do bad. You fight against my family and friends. You kill my brothers that are fighting for our freedom. So why would you of all people want to know my name?" She said glaring up at him with anger and sadness.
-
"Because it would be quite rude of me not to ask." He said calmly. "I mean no harm to you, personally. I do understand your anger." He said, then looked to his side. "I must go." He said. "Good day, to you, Miss Williomson." He said, then walked away towards some other red coats.
-
She watched him leave with a bit of her curiosity heightened."Good day to you too." She replied wondering if the red coats weren't as bad as she had been brought up to believe. She shook her head and headed towards her parent's mansion where they were waiting for her to come back to her supposedly tea party. She took another look at James and sighed. He was quite well mannered and likable. Too bad he wasn't on her side.
-
He walked over to the group of redcoats, and after minutes of talking, they walked to a small house where they would live.
-
Olivia heard her father arguing in the background and she sighed. If only the war wasn't a war. She liked James, despite him being on the opposite side and she knew she shouldn't see him again, except maybe in public. She sighed and flopped in her room and looked out her window dreamily wondering if she would see James again
-
He sat his bag down on the bed that he would sleep in. He couldn't stop thinking about Olivia, but he knew he had to stop. He couldn't love her; she was on the opposite side of the war he was on.
-
She looked out the window and then heard her mother calling for her. She walked down the stairs as gracefully as possible. "Yes ma?" She asked as politely as possible to keep her thoughts away from James. "I would like you to go to the store and buy us some sugar please. I need it to make an apple pie." She replied. Olivia curtsied. "right away mother." She said grabbed her purse and headed out the door. She placed her hat on and strolled down to the store where most everyone dipped their head in greeting. Her family was the most powerful and richest family in America.
-
"We have no food." One redcoat noticed, standing in the middle of the kitchen. "I'll go to the store. I know where it is, I remember seeing as I walked down the dock." He said.
Within ten minutes, James got off his horse and got a redcoat who he knew to watch the horse for him while he bought some food. He walked into the store...
-
Olivia walked inside the store. "Hello Miss. Olivia what would you like today?" The storekeeper asked. Olivia smiled. "Two pounds of sugar please. If you have it. I will guarantee a slice of my mother's famous pie." She replied grinning. The store keeper grinned. "Of course miss." he replied earnestly. She knew that everyone wanted pie, but sugar was hard to come by especially during the war. She noticed James coming into the store but tried to ignore him as much as possible.
-
He walked up and down the aisles, picking up some food as he goes. But, he couldn't find any rice. He looked over, and noticed Olivia talking with the man who works at the store. "Excuse me," he said to the man, knowing better to talk to Olivia. "Where can I find rice?" He asked, standing beside Olivia.
-
The storekeeper frowned. "We ran out of rice for you red coats long ago. There's no more after you guys ransacked the place in the middle of the night." He said edgily watching James closely.
Olivia frowned knowing it was true but it wasn't James's fault. She sighed. And took a walk around and looked for nice apples
-
"Unfortunate." James said roughly, a frown on his face. He didn't like the mans rudeness towards him, but he understand why he felt that way. "I can make do without, then." He said, placing all of the food on the counter. As he waited for the man to give him the price, he pulled money out of the coat of his jacket.
-
The storekeeper snorted. "Unfortunate for me. Why don't you all go back where you belong? Leave us alone in peace. But I'm guessing you can't do that." He replied curtly. "10 dollars for all this. I'm sorry about how expensive it is, but due to you red coats I don't have much supplies left." He replied.
Olivia sighed and got to the counter and handed him 10 nice apples. "I would like these also. They're for the pie my mother is making." she replied feeling James's frustration
