Training. [Paradisekit, Perikit and Tigerlily]

    Paradisekit yawned and awoke to the sight of a light dusting of snow over everything. He shivered and crawled out of his nest. Finding a mouse he brought it back to the den to eat for his breakfast. He ate quickly out of excitement. Tigerlily was going to train him and Perikit today! He couldn't wait and hoped the medicine cat would be here soon, or was she asleep still?

    [justify][font=georgia][size=8]"Perikit!" Tigerlily called, looking around for her other apprentice. Glancing at Paradisekit, the Medicine Cat dipped her head. "It's nice to see at least one cat of my crew is ready."

    Perikit padded forward, a small flower clamped in her jaws. "Oh im so sorry!" She meowed. "I hope I am not late..."


    The young female quickly dropped the daisy in front of Tigerlilly, happiness in her blue eyes. "I though you might like this. Memorypaw said she would bring one back for me when she went on patrol. Apparently there are a whole bunch growing!"

    Paradisekit smiled when Tigerlily spoke. He was more than ready to start. When Perikit came in he curiously approached to look at the flower. "It's pretty," he commented.

    [justify][font=georgia][size=8]"Thank you," Tigerlily purred. "Now sit next to Paradisekit. We're going to start with some herb drills."


    Turning to her herb store, the Medicine Cat grabbed some chervil. This was always a confusing herb, considering many had it's sweet smell. "What is this? Its leaves can be chewed up to prevent and heal infection. And if you chew up and eat the roots, it can cure bellyache."

    Paradisekit looked worried when Tigerlily mentioned herb drills. He knew only two herbs. He looked closely at the herb she brought out but didn't recognize it. "I don't know," he meowed quietly.

    "Chew the leaves to prevent infection, and eat the roots for a bellyache." Perikit meowed, echoing her mentors words from a few moments before.

    "How do you chew it up, do you spit it out onto the injury after you chew it?" Paradisekit asked. Perikit had already answered the question but he made sure he knew it too.

    [justify][font=georgia][size=8]"That's exactly what you do," Tigerlily purred. Picking up the chervil and setting it back in the herb store, the Medicine Cat picked up a piece of lobelia.


    "This can be used to cure asthma. It has many names, including barfweed, gagroot, pukeweed, vomitwort, and a few others, but I'm looking for a specific name."


    Lobelia had always been Tigerlily's favorite herb due to its other names. When Snowbird had taught her about it, the Medicine Cat didn't resist laughing.

    Perikit narrowed her eyes. "Ive never seen that before.. i dont know."

    "Ew why does it have such gross other names?" Paradisekit asked. Based on the name alone he didn't want to chew that herb up into a pulp for any reason. "Um lavender?" he guessed. Lavender helped clear stuffy noses so would it do other breathing stuff like asthma?

    "No remember lavander is the purpley flower!" Perikit meowed with a giggle.

    "Oh right...huh," Paradisekit meowed. Now that Perikit mentioned it the herb certainly looked nothing like lavender. He leaned forward to smell the herb just to be sure. Nope, certainly not lavender. He flicked his tail at Perikit to lightly hit her when she giggled at him.
