  • Ebonystar finished quickly. The she-cat had had a new hunger, often still being hungry after a squirrel or something. She shifted, eyeing Mourningsong's vole. She couldn't help it!

  • Once the tom was done, he lifted his muzzle into the air and licked his jaws. His tongue gently sweeping over his bottom lip, then his top. He glanced over at Ebonystar and raised an eyebrow. Why was she staring at his finished vole? She couldn't still be hungry, Right?

  • Ebonystar noticed him watching her. "Oh, um...sorry." She flicked her gaze up to him. "Just been a bit hungrier lately." Ebonystar chuckled anxiously.

  • Mourningsong nodded and licked his jaws once more. "I've noticed." he mumbled before he stretched. "Anything up with you?" he asked her after he was done stretching.

  • "I meant to ask Ravenshriek, but you know...." Ebonystar trailed off, sighing. She actually had asked Ravenshriek before the twolegs came. She brought her amber gaze to Mourningsong's and held it there firmly. "Mourningsong, I am having kits." Ebonystar declared, watching him.

  • At first Mourningsong was too startled to react, his mouth only hung open. But soon the news sunk in and he leaped to his paws. "Seriously?" he asked, a purr rumbling in his throat. This was the best news he had ever heard! Crouching down next to her, he licked her ear.

  • "Seriously." She replied, purring as well. Pressing against him, she smiled as he licked her ear. "They will be coming within four moons"

  • Happiness sparkled in his eyes as he curled around her softly. "I will protect you as best as I can." he murmured. He entwined their tails before he rested his chin on her shoulder.

  • Ebonystar finally yawned, tired. "Well, it'll be cold tonight. Might as well get some rest to start off early in the morning. We need to find a good den for the kits, and a good place to start over." With that, the striped she-cat closed her amber orbs, enlarging flanks' moving softly.

  • Mourningsong nodded and curled up into a ball next to her. "I'm sure wherever we go, it'll be perfect." he purred softly before he drifted into an uneasy sleep.

  • Ebonystar poked Mourningsong softly with a claw. "Wake up! We need to get going." She sun just barely peeked over at them, dawn here.

  • The tom instantly leaped to his paws, his fur ruffled up in surprise. Blinking the sleep from his eyes, he glanced at Ebonystar. Instantly an amused purr came to his lips. "Alright! Alright! I'm awake!" he mewed.

  • Mourningsong rolled his eyes and gently slapped his tail over her ear. "Anything." he mewed before picking up a swift trot.

  • Ebonystar smiled to him, giggling again. She patiently waited, rolling onto her back, letting her fattening belly extend.

  • Not long after he had disappeared, the tom reappeared with a rabbit hanging from his jaws. His long legs made it easy for him to chase after these creatures. Dropping it by Ebonystar's paws, he bent over to give her a lick. "I'll right back." he mewed before he turned and trotted away. He needed to hunt for himself.
