    Froststar walked around the camps clearing. Every step in the snow made his fur stand on end. He silently gazed into the starless night sky. He blinked his eyes slowly and turned his head.

    Silversoul padded up to him. "Cold, huh?" She mewed, shivering a little as an icy breeze passed through the camp. I'm glad we're adapted to this climate; our fur grows pretty long."
    She looked at his eyes and purred, "Nobody's showed up yet, huh?"

    Silversoul nodded. "Is there anything you need me to do, by the way? Like, I don't know, hunt or something?"
    She felt pride swell up her fur. I'm deputy! She thought amusedly. I can't wait to start my official duties! Protecting the clan and directing the clan is the perfect thing for me to do!
    She glanced over at him, waiting for a response. And I have a....leader to follow!

    Froststar nodded.
    "We need some prey... if you don't mind. We need to hunt and fill the fresh kill-pile... maybe we can find some puffins and snowshoe hares." His voice brightened a little. In this type of weather... its hard to think you can find any prey at all nearby...... He thought.

    Silversoul nodded. "Sure thing, I'll get started right away." She bounced off, looking around carefully and stopping to sniff the air every once in a while. She finally halted a little away from camp, detecting a hare nearby. She crouched down very still and listened. Silversoul prided herself in great hearing and eyesight. That's what I get for eating mushrooms as an apprentice she thought thankfully. She spotted something moving a little bit against the snow. She heard faint nibbling noises, as if it was chewing on grass. She moved a little closer, making no sound as she approached it from across the snow. She finally drew up behind it, and it still hadn't noticed her. She flattened her ears and swished her tail, charging at the snowshoe hare. She leaped at it, pinning it quickly and delivering a sharp killing bite. She watched as blood splattered, bright red, on the pale white snow. She stood with the hare clenched in her jaws, beaming triumphantly.

    Ic:Cloudheart padded over to Froststar, her cream colored fur fluffed up slightly,"It's so pretty right now isn't it?" She purred.

    Silversoul watched them from a distance and smiled. "I can't wait for the clan to be completely settled in," she whispered to herself, "It's already seeming so great, and only two other cats are even here!" She silently laughed to herself. She dug a small hole and dropped her prey in it, about to continue hunting. She smelled a puffin and started heading towards it.

    "Indeed. It is, would you like to go hunting with Silversoul? Oh, and, are you settling well?" Froststar asked Cloudheart, his eyes gleeming. I'm so proud of this clan! He thought.

    Froststar stared at his paws. After a couple of minutes, Froststar walked out into the snow. He spotted a small hare ad ducked down low. His pelt blended perfectly with the scenery. He crept closer to it. It was nibbling softly on some snowberries. Froststar inhaled slowly, trying not to startle the small creature. He tightened his muscled and launched himself at the hare. Landing on it lightly, Froststar bit into it's neck and used both of his paws, claws unsheathed, to rake it's side. Getting off of the hare Froststar purred. He looked around to see Cloudheart and Silversoul.

    Froststar heard her compliment. He let out a purr.
    "Thank you, yours is well, too." He responded warmly. He took his catch over to the two cats. "See anything else...?" Froststar inquired. He opened his mouth to scent the air. "Is it just me. . . or. . . do you smell anything unusual? Like. . . have you ever smelled a Polar Bear before?" His voice quivered.

    Froststar lowered himself down into the snow.
    "Try to keep yourself hidden." He whispered to Cloudheart and Silversoul. "Lets see if it will go away. . ." He breathed slowly. He burried his prey deep into the snow. "It might freeze, but it'll thaw back out. We have to hide the preys' scents from the predator." He muttered.
