  • Ok, after being in, and seeing, many successful and interesting Clans around the board, I've become inspired to create one myself. I have decided on some things, but need help with others. First of all this Clan is going to be advanced only, so please only join if your advanced. I welcome any and all ideas, though sadly, I don't know if I'll be reserving HP's yet for people who help me significantly. We can figure that out later.

I have all the ranks figured out so far. The leader is the Frontrunner{s}, deputy is Backrunner{s}, medicine cats are Savants, medicine cat apprentices or Savant Initiates, warriors are Brawlers, apprentices are Initiates, queens are Bearers, kits are Nurslings, and elders are Seasoned. However, I'm debating on whether or not I want the Brawlers category to be separated in two {guards/warriors and hunters} and whether or not to add a council of some sort or any other rank.

I also don't know whether or not this should be an anti or pro-clan. Please state which one you prefer and justify your reasoning. I am not going to plan on figuring the name out until we have some more things figured out with the Clan. Please, post away! I accept any and all ideas and critiques!

  • Hi Lumia!~ :-*
Personally, I tend to like anti clans simply because the cats in them tend to be more fun to roleplay. I think this is because the moral code of the clan isn't as strong-sometimes even a little twisted-and that a lot of times can be entertaining. It also gives room to make some unique characters without worrying about them fitting 'the warrior code'.
Also, playing 'evil' characters or anti heros is fun ^^

  • HAI BELZY. cx

Hmm, good point. I was leaning more towards anti-clan anyways. Anti-Clan it is. ^x^ I'm taking out the Seasoned, then, beacuse I believe anti-clans think of working until you die or are killed.

Do you think the positions are alright, or would it be more fun if I added in a few more? Like a council or something? Also, should I seperate the Brawler position into guards and hunters, or keep it just brawlers? I'm thinking I'm going to keep it just Brawlers and then add in the rank of like, elite spies or something. xD

  • [font=georgia]I personally like the idea of brawlers and elite spies, if only because brawler sounds super awesome. though I personally prefer ninja to spies xD

I think a council would peak more peoples interest, as who doesn't like a scary group of powerful cats to tell them what to do? However, you would have to decide how much power the position holds. I would suggest having the council and then a council leader this could be the Backrunner or another cat.

Where you thinking of using Nightclan as the clans religion or something else?

  • Ok, I'll have Brawlers be the warriors/hunters/trainers of the Initiates and all that jazz, and I think I'll make the spies a semi-hp. Because there won't be many, probably only 4 or 5, to spy on other clans and cats and that stuff. They can still do warriors duties though. (:

I think I will add a council of cats, though I'm not going to have a head council member. The council should be composed of how many cats, do you think? I think they won't have that much power, or at least no more than the leader. They will be there along with the Backrunner to assist in helping plan battle strategies and the like, also to reccommend cats for promotion and mentors and all that jazz. Does that sound good?

Well, NightClan seems to be a popular religion among anti-clans, so I don't know if I want to do it. I don't want to do The Greek or Roman gods either, because those are way overused. Do you have any ideas on what their religion could be?

One more thing, do you want to play a SkyClan kit? Just wondering, because I need my SkyClan male CDC kit Montekit to have some siblings. You don't have to if you don't want to, I was just wondering. I'm going to ask anotheer one of my friends as well. (:

  • For the council, I don't think there should be more then six cats. They certainly should not have as much power as the leader since they already out number him. Perhaps each one could have a certain trait? For example it could be like 'insert council cat name here' the wise and 'insert council cat name here' the compassionate. It would give diversity to the council and create different perspectives.

For religion, that is tough. It might be interesting to have a faithless clan. Perhaps they could focus more on knowledge? You could incorporate that into the clan in different ways and maybe even have a group of cats in charge of 'experiments'. It is a little different, but it might not be your cup of tea.

I would love to play a Skyclan kit. I haven't heard of the CDC before, can you explain?

  • I don't really know how to fully explain what the CDC is, but read this for more information on it. It's actually really interesting, and you might want to join! Ok, thanks for playing one of Montekit's siblings! What is its name, and is it a female or a male?

I love that council idea, and will incorporate that immediately! You're just filled with good ideas, aren't you? cx I think there should be five council cats and four spies. Does that sound good to you? Any other ranks I should pop in there?

Ok, can you elaborate on the 'experiments' part? I don't understand what you mean. Like experimenting on cats, or on the world around them in general?

  • I just looked it up and am planning on joining now with Monte's sibling, if that is all right. ^^

I'm thinking of a female named Wompingkit (her warrior name will be Wompingwillow). The first task is a birthing thread, did you already post one? If not do you want to create one together?

As for experiments, it could be whatever you want. If you want something a little darker, they could experiment on any prisoners they happen to have in their keeping or any creature in general. But, if you want something a little lighter, they could just experiment on their natural resources.

  • Hello there! I feel I may be joining in a little late, but feedbacks always good, right? And besides, this looks really promising XD

I really like the way you have the ranks set up, but may I make one small suggestion towards them? It seems to me that to have the Leader, the Deputy, then a council of cats, then warriors, etc, is a bit much for sharing power....

What if, instead of setting it up like that, you just make your Senior warriors the Council?

It would sort of be like an 'Elder', but instead of sitting around being waited on (since they are anti-clan), you have them advise your Leader, Deputy, and younger Warriors? they could also do some things like hunting and patrolling, though they're main purpose would be to pass on their knowladge to the others. And that way you dont have to work them into the ground until they die. Besides, it makes sense that the Council would be cats of age, experience, and who had proven themselves- right?

    So it would go

    Frontrunner - Leader
    Backrunner - Deputy
    Council - Senior Warriors/Elders
    Brawlers - main warriors/hunters
Spies (I was thinking you could call them Shadows?) - spies/guards
    etc

And I was thinking for Religion, I was thinking a faithless clan might be fun. Maybe they could be like mercenaries that other clans can hire to fight for them, and through this they learn what Starclan is? If you wanted to 'experiment', we could base the plot on how the Clans leader wants 9 lives and access to Silverpelt after death, but Starclan wont come to her? She can start stealing clan born cats who have a connection to Starclan, and attempt to find a way to connect herself to them?

The post was edited 1 time, last by Spazzmoid5000 ().

  • Ok belz, that sounds good. i love harry potter references xD Sure, I'll check out your CDC journal quick and PM you with more details later.

Ok, wow Spazzmoid, I like your input. xP I agree that seasoned warriors should likely be the council, and just lend their knowledge to the leader and deputy for matters and such. Though, I believe instead of being promoted to the rank when of age, up to five cats are picked by the leader. That way it gives something for people to look forward too. x3

As for the religion, I believe a faithless clan is probably best. I don't think I'm going to have my Clan as mercenaries, because it seems lots of FanClans I've looked at are doing that now. However, I like the idea of experimentation inputted by the both of you. I think I'm going to incorporate that as a plot idea later on in the roleplay, where the Clan can be attacked by a Pro-clan {I'll arrange this} and she can learn about StarClan and the 9 lives they give. So she starts ordering her cats to steal any clan-born cats because she wants those 9 lives, and a battle could result from that? Or something. ^x^

  • I love that idea!

I actually right now only have a cdc journal for a cat I'm working on named Siren. I might start Whompingwillows' in a couple days but right now my muse is faltering.

  • I'm glad I was able to help a bit with the plot. Do you have any sign-up threads/rp threads for this yet? I would love to join once you do if that's all right, maybe try out for an HP position? I am on daily and can post anywhere from 2-7 detailed paragraphs :D

  • Oh, that's fine! Send me the link when you're done. I also sent you a PM with some info on the fam so you can include that once you get Whomping her cdc journal. (:

And no, not yet, but keep updated with this thread and it will be posted soon enough! Thanks for your interest in joining! <3

  • No problem. Let me know if there's any other things you need opinions on, and I'll see if there's anything I can come up with to help out a bit :D

  • Speaking of it, I need insane help with the territory. Everything seems to be overdone. I want something that's NEVER been done before, where no cats have ever lived. And I come up with blanks. Think you guys can help?

  • Hmmmm, territories....

Hmmm, what about a volcano? It could be long inactive, and completely free of magma/lava thanks to a flood that caused the entire thing to go solid. The inside of the volcano can be completely hollowed out, and, depending on how big you want it to be, it could even support a small forest within itself and on it's slopes? The dens could be formed out of the rock that hardened long ago into cave like crevices, and you could also use this excuse to make other structures as well, such as a highrock type thing, or maybe even cage like crevices for prisoners?

I can try and think of something else if you dont like this :D

  • Sorry for any late input, but I've got a few little things to say & help out with :3

Firstly, this sounds so awesome 8DDDD

Secondly, I know you're doing the whole anti-clan thing - but you also need to question whether they think what they do is right or wrong. Are they evil and lovin' it, or are they un-knowingly evil, or are they just nice and happen to hate pro-clans?

I think the idea of a faithless group is good for now - unless any bright ideas spark, because then you know where you stand, it's just nice to have a sort of... focus point to keep the group together. Then again, NightClan, Greeks, Romans etc. have all been overused so it would have to be something new, interesting but not too difficult to get your head around... tricky x3 So best kept faithless unless otherwise.

The StarClan conversion plot would be interesting, and whether or not the nine lives are given and how the rest of the group accept this with lots of spiral plots and all that jazz. But as it's kind of huge you'd have to do it later on in the roleplay, to allow other plots to blossom; as if it spiralled down into rebellion other ideas would be wasted and such (:

And Ninja-Swag, I love the extinct volcano idea c; The only other thing I could think of would be in like a canyon or crater where a meteor crashed (hdfbgvharfbnaj just thought of an idea, what if they believed that the crater was the pawprint of a giant cat - their god/spirit/allmightyreligiouskitty - or perhaps a nest where the god/spirit/allmightreligiouskitty 's would rest and look after eachother, then when the group came along they do the same to the group but you can't see them because they're invisible but you can still feel them etc. OR AAAAAAH what if they believed that the volcano's crater whatever was the place then .... getting carried away here, silly old brain) x3

  • As with everyone who has posted on this thread, I believe this is a truly magnificent idea!

Regarding religion, I agree that a faithless clan seems best, at least for now. This is a great point to start at, it allows for so much potential conflict, and we all know that conflict is key. Also, the potential Starclan-merging-thing (for lack of a better word) sounds really nice, and with some further development could become a completely epic idea.

I think that the idea of living by/in an inactive volcano is very unique and interesting. I cannot think of any other territories that have not been overused, so I think this is your best-bet if you want something a little out-of-the-ordinary.

Anyways, I love the way this is coming along and am definitely keen on joining!

  • Thanks for the input everyone! <3

I agree, the volcano idea seems really awesome! Ninja, your great at coming up with ideas. cx I was thinking all the major dens could be the caves/crevices inside the volcano, while the warriors and apprentices all slept on ledges of rock that jutted out from the wall? It seems different. Do you think we should make the inside of the volcano huge, with many caves, so there's potential plot points to discover something awesome in the caves? Or just the hollowed out camp area? If anything, I want the meeting place to be in an adjoining cave, where there is a flat-topped, tall rock where meetings are held. Cats can all hang out there and that's where the fresh-kill will be stored and all that. Also, is the whole territory just going to be mainly the inside of the volcano, or is there going to be something surrounding it they also call their own? What will the volcano be called; as in, should it be a real volcano or just one we make up, and where would its location be?

Nettle; Yeah, evil and lovin' it is what I'm going for. And yeah, I agree with the whole focus point, so I'm thinking that we may have them cycle through different religions until they can settle on one maybe? I don't quite know yet. ^x^

  • I think there should be more to their land than just a volcano. Maybe you could have some jungle-esque terrain surrounding the area. It really depends on the climate. If this was a semi-tropical volcano ( such as Mauna Loa in Hawaii), the surroundings would be lush greenery. However, if this volcano were one that was situated in the Highlands of Iceland, then the surroundings would be barren and empty. So, it all depends on what kind of life you want for these cats.

I think, personally, that the interior of the volcano should be riddled with tunnels and caves, perhaps with some larger, hollowed out spaces.
