That hurts [o, medicine cats]

    The long haired white but with black patches cat pratically crawled into the den. But not wanting to seem like a kit, she used the last of her strength to stand up and call for the medicine cats. "I need some help here!" Ebonypaw meowed loudly, clutching at her stomach that yet again gurgled and groaned.

    "Coming!" Crystallinevision called from the back of the den, getting up to her tired paws and darting over to the entrance, where a black and white she-cat had collapsed. "Lean against me." The medicine cat ordered, attempting to help Ebonypaw over to a vacant nest.

    The empty eye socket of Nik faced the cat whom entered the den, but as he turned his head, you could see a glimmering aqua orb. Yes, Nik had only one eye due to a nasty hawk scratch that he'd received as a kitten. He was grateful that his job didn't require two working eyes; in fact, he'd heard that some of the other Clans had completely blind medicine cats. He was quite lucky compared to others.


    Blinking his single eye, the fawn tabby peeked his head out from the back of the den, "Does she need any herbs, Mum?" The kitten asked politely, though his voice held an odd numbness. He was still getting over the death of his father, and although he hated to admit it, he'd been curled up in Backstab's old nest all day.

    Bermudapaw peeked her head into the den, ears perked. "Maybe she needs poppy seeds!" the daughter of Phantomcorpse and Backstab chirped, ears pricked.

    "Yup, could you get some poppy seeds for the pain, Nik?" Crystallinevision called, still trying to help the long-furred she-cat over to a nest. The medicine cat liked the new territory and the new medicine cat, as it provided a cool environment for her patients to get healed and rest.

    Queenkit was busy making Ebonypaw's nest softer with feathers and more moss. Now that they lived in this new territory, the chinchilla tabby loved to collect various bird feathers and line the medicine cat den nests with them. As she saw her mentor trying to lead the apprentice to the den, she jumped back to clear out of the way and almost smashed into Bermudapaw's face. Letting out a hiss of annoyance, she decided to let Niklaus get the poppy seeds and have herself find out more about this patient. "What are your symptoms?"

    Shallowsun grabbed a couple of feathers and made a nest for Ebonypaw. She glanced sadly at Nik. "Do you think she'll be okay?" She murmered. A tabby kit laid in a nest near Ebonyaw. It coughed feebly and buried its tiny face in its nest. "Excuse me." She murmered, stumbling over to her kit.

    The one eyed cat gave Shallowsun a puzzled frown before responding, "Uh, yes, I think she'll be fine." Looking to the coughing tabby kitten, Nik reminded himself to check in on it later. Then, turning back to the storage of herbs, the fawn tabby pressed his paw pad against the tiny seeds on the ground so that they stuck and hobbled back to Ebonypaw. "Here, take these." He mewed in a hushed voice before extending his paw pad with the poppy seeds towards the she-cat.

    Shallowsun frowned when Reedkit didn't look back at her. She pressed her muzzle to his, expecting him to push back, but he didn't respond. She let out a choking cry and stumbled backwards.


    Risingwind nodded at Ebonypaw then looked at Nik. "You're doing fine. Don't worry." He mewed.

    Ebonypaw staggered a little bit, but did as she was told and leaned against the medicince cat. Her stomach made a loud noise, Ebonypaw whimpered and clutched at her sore stomach. "I..I think I ate a rotten peice of meat," She whispered, the apprentices eyes closing tightly as more pain came in. Ebonypaw took the poppy seeds and devoured them like they were the first peice of food she'd ever tried. Please work!

    Risingwind gasped. "Reedkit!" He raced over to his sister's side, before turning and looking at Ebonypaw with sad, round eyes. "I hope she doesn't have the same fate." He murmered, bowing his head.
