    Alright, I'll start with ear mutations since they're simplest. :)


    The three ear mutations found in cats are curled, folded and normal.
    The folded and curled gene are both dominant.


    curled ears


    Cu = curled ears
    CuCu = homozygous curled ears
    Cucu = heterozygous curled ears carrying the gene for normal ears


    cu = normal ears
    cucu = homozygous normal ears


    Curled ears (CuCu) x Curled ears (CuCu) = Curled eared kittens
    Curled ears (Cucu) x Curled ears (Cucu) = Curled and normal eared kittens
    Curled ears (Cucu) x Normal ears (cucu) = Curled and normal eared kittens
    Normal ears (cucu) x Normal ears (cucu) = Normal eared kittens


    folded ears


    Fd = folded ears
    FdFd = homozygous folded ears
    Fdfd = heterozygous folded ears carrying the gene for normal ears


    fd = normal ears
    fdfd = homozygous normal ears


    Folded ears (FdFd) x Folded ears (FdFd) = Folded eared kittens
    Folded ears (Fdfd) x Folded ears (Fdfd) = Folded and normal eared kittens
    Folded ears (Fdfd) x Normal ears (fdfd) = Folded and normal eared kittens
    Normal ears (fdfd) x Normal ears (fdfd) = Normal eared kittens
    Breeding two cats with folded ears will mean that 25% of the kittens will be stillborn.

    White (masking cinnamon tabby) x Red tabby w/ curled ears

    Is it lke two entirely different genes? Like one gene that controls folded and one that controls curled?

    They're completely separate genes; Cu is the curled ear gene and Fd is the folded ear gene. MistyBlue told me that she researched and found that it is possible for a cat to have both the folded and curled ear genes, but I'm not so clear on that so we can just stick to these. ^^

    Males: red tabby, cream tabby, black, brown tabby, blue, blue tabby, cinnamon, cinnamon tabby, fawn, fawn tabby, white
    Females: black, brown tabby, blue, blue tabby, cinnamon, cinnamon tabby, fawn, fawn tabby, tortie, torbie, dilute tortie, dilute torbie, cinnamon tortie, cinnamon torbie, fawn tortie, fawn torbie, white
    Kits can have curled ears or normal ears.
    In all kits, excluding white kits, and natural eye color except blue is possible.
    In white kits, any natural eye color is possible, but white kits with blue eye run a high risk (70% chance) of being born permanently deaf.


    Seal point w/ curled ears x lilac tabby w/ curled ears
    Kits: black, seal point, brown tabby, seal lynx point, blue, blue point, blue tabby, blue lynx point, chocolate, chocolate point, chocolate tabby, chocolate lynx point, lilac, lilac point, lilac tabby, lilac lynx point
    Kits can have curled ears or normal ears.
    In all kits, excluding points, any natural eye color except blue is possible.
    All points will have blue eyes.


    Chocolate w/ folded ears x blue tabby
    Kits: black, brown tabby, blue, blue tabby, chocolate, chocolate tabby, lilac, lilac tabby
    Kits can have folded ears or normal ears.
    Any natural eye color except blue is possible.


    Cream tabby w/ folded ears x dilute tortie w/ folded ears
    Males: blue, cream tabby
    Females: cream tabby, dilute tortie
    Kits can have folded ears or normal ears.
    Any natural eye color except blue is possible.
    25% percent of the litter will be stillborn.

    Perfect! Just remember though in number one that the males would only be red-factored and the females would only be tortie or torbie.

    Also, I've PMed MistyBlue about the curled ears x folded ears subject, and she told me that she looked it up and wasn't sure. I looked it up as well but came up with nothing. She also told me that she heard it was possible for a cat to have both curled and folded ears, but for now we'll just not cross them. :)

    I did a quick internet search myself and all I came up with was what do you get when you cross- jokes.

    I did a little research and found an article on Sphinx, Russian hairless, and longhairs. It didn't have munchkin, though.


    Can you check these practice problems, to see if I've got it right?
    Also, is there anything odd about any of them? For example, like if you cross two cats with folded ears, 25% will be stillborn? Or how points will always have blue eyes?


    Cinnamon longhair x dilute tortie
    Males: red tabbu, cream tabby, black, blue, cinnamon, fawn
    Females: black, blue, cinnamon, fawn, tortie, dilute tortie, cinnamon tortie, fawn tortie
    Kits can be longhaired or shorthaired.
    Any natural eye color except blue is possible.


    Cream tabby longhair x blue longhair
    Males: blue
    Females: dilute tortie
    All kits will be longhaired.
    Any natural eye color except blue is possible.


    Sphinx x chocolate tabby
    Kits: sphinx, black, brown tabby, blue, blue tabby, chocolate tabby, chocolate, lilac, lilac tabby
    Any natural eye color except blue is possible.


    Cream tabby x sphinx
    Males: sphinx, black, brown tabby, blue, blue tabby
    Females: sphinx, tortie, torbie, dilute tortie, dilute torbie
    Any natural eye color except blue is possible.


    Russian hairless x lilac
    Kits: Russian hairless, black, brown tabby, blue, blue tabby, chocolate, chocolate tabby, lilac, lilac tabby
    Any natural eye color except blue is possible.


    Cinnamon tabby x Russian hairless
    Kits: black, brown tabby, blue, blue tabby, cinnamon, cinnamon tabby, fawn, fawn tabby, Russian hairless
    Any natural eye color except blue is possible.

    Blue tabby Munchkin x red tabby
    Males: red tabby, cream tabby
    Females: tortie, torbie, dilute tortie, dilute torbie
    Any of the above kits are possible as Munchkins.
    Any natural eye color except blue is possible.


    Cinnamon tabby Munchkin x blue Munchkin
    Kits: black, brown tabby, blue, blue tabby, cinnamon, cinnamon tabby, fawn, fawn tabby
    Any of the above kits are possible as Munchkins.
    There is a 25% chance any given kit will be stillborn, but all stillborn kits will be Munchkins.
    Any natural eye color except blue is possible.

    Chocolate LaPerm x blue tabby
    Kits: black, brown tabby, blue, blue tabby, chocolate, chocolate tabby, lilac, lilac tabby
    Any of the above kits are possible as LaPerms.
    Any natural eye color except blue is possible.


    Cinnamon x brown tabby LaPerm
    Kits: black, brown tabby, blue, blue tabby, cinnamon, cinnamon tabby, fawn, fawn tabby
    Any of the above kits are possible as LaPerms.
    Any natural eye color except blue is possible.

    Just note that for the Russian Hairless' and Sphinxes, they aren't colors. Both can be any color.
    For example, you'd do something like this:


    Black Russian Hairless x Black
    Black, blue
    Kits can have any realistic eye color but blue.
    Kits can be either Russian Hairless or normal furred.


    As for mutations, I'll make a list of the possibilities for you:
    Folded ears x Folded ears = 25% stillborn
    Manx x Manx = 25% stillborn and spinal deformities
    Munchkin x Munchkin = 25% stillborn

    So all in manx/manx have spinal deformities?


    Oh. On the genetics test it just says sphinx and Russian hairless. What would that mean?


    Earlier you said folded ears was 25% stilborn, not curled ears. Is it both, or just one, or what?

    Yes, Manx x Manx kittens will have spinal deformities.
    On the test you can choose what color the Sphinx or Russian Hairless is, just make sure to specify though. ^^
    That was my mistake, sorry. Only folded ears x folded ears have a 25% chance of being stillborn. *edits*
