  • Jank blinked in surprise as Crash touched his nose with his. "Uh.." The brown tabby blinked away in embarrassment, staring at the far wall.

  • "What's wrong?" Crash whispered, hurt. "Don't... don't you like me?" He peered down at Jank, a quizzical, sad expression on his face.

  • Ears pricking at the hurt in the younger tom's voice, Jank looked back up at Crash. "Of course I do!" The tabby exclaimed. "Why wouldn't I?"

  • "I dunno..." he whimpered. "It's just... I really, REALLY like you, and..." Crash couldn't go on, just stared at Jank.

  • "And... oh, I can't tell you yet. I haven't even told my own brother." Crash muttered, shaking his head slightly.

  • "Come on, you can tell me!" The treater mewed in a soft tone, lifting his head high enough off the floor to touch his nose into Crash's shoulder.

  • "No I can't, it's far to personal to share with you until after I tell Buteo, even though it kinda has to do with you." Crash protested awkwardly.

  • Jank's gaze turned sad, and his blue eyes softened. "Come on Crash. You know you can trust me." The brown tabby murmured gently, gazing up into the eyes of the younger tom.

  • "No way, not until I know whatever it is you're keeping from me." Jank replied the the same soft pleading tone as before. "Please?" His nose brushed against Crash's shoulder fur again.

  • Crash stiffened, letting out a little whimper and rolling off of Jank. "I can't...." he whispered painfully. "Buteo would kill me if I told you first."

  • "But he doesn't have to know." Jank replied, grinning at the younger tom-cat as he slid from his perch atop Jank. Sitting up, the tabby gently nudged Crash with his shoulder. "Alright.. tell me when you feel you're ready to."

  • "He'll know-- trust me. He's got some kind of weird brother senses." Crash replied, nodding sagely. "I'll tell you right after I tell Buteo."

  • Crash purred, pressing his nose into Jank's fur. "I always keep my promises." he informed the older cat.

  • "You better." Jank lifted a brown front paw to shove Crash, but this time it was much more gentle.
