Athena woke up from her nightmare, right at the first stroke of lightning. It was raining harder than ever. She was happy that she was lying under a tree. She gazed at her herd, when her tummy rumbled. Maybe I should go back to sleep... she thought, looking at the sleeping bodies. Athena got up quietly and trotted over to a creek.

Truth slept standing up,pawing at the ground.He snorted and his head moved side to side,back and forth.He was under a tree,Midnight close by to him.Midnight liked Truth like a big brother.Midnight was laying down in the grass under the tree Truth was under.She seemed to be smiling in her sleep,only breathing.She didn't move around,just laid there peacefully.
Moonsong sways back and forth she was also swishing her tail she was in a deep sleep having a dream.
Whisp had woken up from a terrible dream. She shook her mane and looked at the sleeping herd, noticing the Lead mare had gone. 'I bet she's just getting something to drink or eat' Whisp thought as she flicked her tail. She was under a large oak tree with dense leaves like an umbrella.
Athena's black tail swished in the wind. She raced up onto a hill, looking over the Valley, the Forest, and the Big River. Her mane rippled in the wind, her blue eyes sparkling. On the twelvth stroke of Lightning, the Herd would have to run to the Big River in honor of Pegasus. And the Great Storm. She thought, watching the third Lightning Strike.
Whisp watched the sky, the wind tossing her mane and tail about playfully. Her ears were pricked forwards, alert as her forelock covered one of her two jade green eyes.
Athena watched the 5th Lightning Strike. She looked at the Great Meadow from the ledgend. She saw a little blaze forming. She whinnied, telling the Herd to wake up.
Truth woke up as soon as he heard her whinnie. He trotted over to Midnight and nudged her to get up.Midnight slowly awakened and got up to her hooves right away.
The fire blazed brighter. "Wake up!!!" Athena whinnied loudly, "All of you!!" The 6th Lightning Strike had struck the same place as the others.
Truth cantered to to Athena's side,with Midnight by his side.They stopped behind her.Midnight reared and whinnied,still not used to the lightning.She stayed close to Truth.
The 7th Lightning Strike flashed across the sky, hitting the same spot as the others. "Go. Run. Get the Herd. Run to the Big River at the 12th Lightning Strike. I'll be with you shortly." Athena whinnied, nudging them back to the direction of the Herd.
Whisp whinnied in fright as she galloped to her leader, skidding to a stop.
Truth whinnied,"Ok!We will meet you there!" They both galloped as fast as they could to the herd."Everyone!Wake up!We need to get to the Big River at the 12th Lightning Strike!"Truth whinnied,rearing,stomping on the ground to try and wake the others.
The 8th Lightning Strike flared, hitting the meadow where all of the others did. Athena watched, her blue eyes were contently watching the Meadow. She flicked her tail in acknowledgement of Whisp's presence.
May Flower stood very close to her mother, Sky Fall.
Sky Fall watched the storm.
Black Thunder rearedm hia loobg, strong legs flew in the air.
MoonSong quickly woke up she looked around making sure everyone was ready and quickly follow the others to the big river.
The 10th Lightning Strike struck the land. The blaze burned brighter. Athena looked up and neighed for Moonsong to stop and wait for the Herd. She looked back at the blaze. The 11th Lightning Strike hit the fire, making the fire burn the presious plant life by the stream around the Meadow.
Moonsong stopped waiting for the herd was shifting her hooves eagerly waiting to leave being quiet anxious since one of her top fears was the sight of lightning she whinnied every time lightning struck.
May reared and kicked, this was her first storm and didn't know what to do..
Sky tryed to calm her foal " May... it's just the Sky Horses!" she nickerd
Thunder stood behind May and Sky.
Truth,Midnight by his side,started galloping towards the Big River.Midnight whinnied and stopped for a second every time the lightning struck.Truth slowed so Midnight could stay by his side.He looked back to make sure the others were coming.
