Sparkstar roamed the hills, looking for a specail flower, for all he knew was that he was to find it, and to bring it to his sick mother, Rosebloom. Her words replayed and replayed through his mind, "find the Flower of Rings and bring it back to me"...Flower of Rings and bring it back to me..." Sparkstar shuddered as he remembered the next part, "it is in a cave guarded by Xaron the dragon. The flower could save my life..." she had said.
~•~•~With that to influence him, Sparkstar began to trot as he approached mountains, *maybe the cave is in the side of a mountain!* he thought. A black and red dragon flew above the mountains. Sparkstar stopped, and stared at the beast, *Xaron!* he thought.
~•~•~A bautiful white unicorn galloped his way, "what do you think your doing!?" She snorted. "Do you know who that IS?" Shs jerked her head in Xarons direction.
~•~•~Sparkstar nodded, "Xaron. Who are YOU?" He whinnied.

~•~•~"Sparkstar." He nickered. Spreading his wings, he galloped accross the field and was soon flying in the air. Sneaking past Xaron, carefully, he examined the mountainside for the cave. A black opening was in one of the mountains, and he flew back to Mystery, "I've found the cave!"

~•~•~Sparkstar quickly told her about his quest, and how he was to retrieve a special flower. Mystery listened without interupting, and when he finished, Xaron had spotted them. He was flying their way.
~•~•~Sparkstar nudged Mystery into the forest and they ran for cover. Xaron opened his big mouth and spat flame at them. The horses stayed just ahead of the fire, and reached the forest safely.
~•~•~"Don't you think he'll follow us in?" Mystery panted.
~•~•~Sparkstar only shrugged, "I dunno, but just be glad he didnt." He nickered. He stepped out of the trees, looking around. Xaron had flown back to his mountains, and Sparkstar swished his tail for Mystry to follow.
~•~•~Together, they crossed the field again, and reached the mountains. Sparkstar faced Mystery, "you don't have to follow me the rest of the way." He nickered. Mystery was expecting this, "and let you miss all the fun? No way! I'm coming!" She whinnied. Sparkstar stared at her, then finally nodded, "okay, but stay close to me." He said and started to climb. Mystery watched him, "you know you have wings, right?"e asked, amused. Sparkstar rolled his eyes and spread his wings. He was about to take off when he looked back at Mystery, "I can fly, but how will YOU get through the mountains?" Mystery climbed past him as easy as if climbing was walking, "unicorns can do many things...many things...now get to flying, and let me know if Xaron comes back." Sparkstar nodded and sprung into the air.
~•~•~Looking around for Xaron, Sparkstar saw him on the other side of the mountains, "he's patrolling the other end of his territory." He called down to Mystery. She nodded and continued to climb.
~•~•~By sunset, the two friends had reached a ledge on the mountain and they decided to rest for the night. Mystery layed down and Sparkstar stayed up, watching for the dragon.
~•~•~The next morning, they kept climbing the mountains until they found the cave, "The cave!" Sparkstar shouted. The cave was really a long, winding tunnel with an eerie glow.
~•~•~The long tunnel was lit by torches, and Sparkstar had lost track of how long they were wandering the tunnel. A tiny, high-pitched voice spoke, "what are you doing here, creatures of the outside!" Mystery jumped at the voice, then asked, "who said that?" Again, the voice spoke, "it is I, Quaro, the bat." He said. Sparkstar laughed a little, "a bat? Is that what you were scared of, Mystery?" Quaro landed on a rock in front of them, "as I said, what are you doing here?" He asked again. It was Sparkstar who answered, "I'm on a mission to retrieve the Flowere of Rings for my sick mother." He said, "Mystery is assisting me in my quest." The bat nodded slowly, "ahh...the Healling Flower..." he said. Sparkstar thought for a moment, "yes, some call it the Healling Flower, but it is known to most creatures as the Flower of Rings." He nickered.
Quaro nodded, "yes, very good. It seems like someone studies their plants." He said. Mystery stepped towards him, "do you know how much farther it is?" Quaro thought for a moment, "well, at the speed your going, i'd say its a few hors, but if you run...I'm guessing abou a few minutes, an hour at the longest." Sparkstar nodded, "thanks, Quaro. Hey! Come with us!" Quaro jumped onto his back, "okay, but I'd better get back to my rock when this quest is over." He grumbled.
~•~•~Sparkstar and Mystery had been running for quite some time, and they saw a golden light up ahead. Quaros eyes squinted against the light, "the flower! Its just up ahead!" He shouted, flexing his wings.
~•~•~The tunnel opened up to become a large cave, and in the center, was the Flowere of Rings. The flowers center five brown rings, each smaller than the other, and each petal was five golden rings, each smaller than the next. The flower was beautiful and surounding the flower on all sides, were blue ring floating in water.
~•~•~Mystery was amazed in its beauty, "wow!" She gasped.
~•~•~Quaro recalled what was to be done, "okay, this cave is enchanted, so it knows how many of us are here. I remember my mother telling me that only one ring per creature. The size of the ring doesn't interfere with its magic, but only the rings on the flower are magical."
~•~•~Mystery rolled her eyes, "any more warnings?" She askd.
~•~•~Quaro continued, "yes, if you as much as touch a water ring, this whole place could come don, and even then, if we get out, we will probbly be blown to bits by Xaron!" He was clearly frightened, then brightened up, "no presure!" He squeaked.
~•~•~Sparkstar let Quaro jump onto Mysterys back, and he spread his wings, "well, here I go!" He said, and flew to the center of the cave, above the flower. Steadying himself, his nose carefully approached one of the rings on a petal. His grabbed one with his teeth, and he flew back to Mystery and Quaro.
~•~•~Sparkstar put the ring on Mystery horn, and they galloped back to the place where they found Quaro, and, as they promised, dropped him back at his rock. They said their good-byes, and by the time the two horses reached the mouth of the cave, it was night time. They agreed to rest for the night.

As they trotted into the forest, Sprkstar looked at Mystery, "you don't have to accompany me the rest of the way, " he aid, "why not?" Said Mystry, "we ARE friends, right?" She asked. Sparkstar nodded, "yes, best friends." He confirmed.

Mystery shook her head, "none." Rosebloom looked back at her son, "she may stay if she wishes." She nickered.

Quaro thought for a moment, "well, at the speed your going, i'd say its a few hors, but if you run...I'm guessing abou a few minutes, an hour at the longest." Sparkstar nodded, "thanks, Quaro. Hey! Come with us!" Quaro jumped onto his back, "okay, but I'd better get back to my rock when this quest is over." He grumbled.
~•~•~Sparkstar and Mystery had been running for quite some time, and they saw a golden light up ahead. Quaros eyes squinted against the light, "the flower! Its just up ahead!" He shouted, flexing his wings.
~•~•~The tunnel opened up to become a large cave, and in the center, was the Flowere of Rings. The flowers center five brown rings, each smaller than the other, and each petal was five golden rings, each smaller than the next. The flower was beautiful and surounding the flower on all sides, were blue ring floating in water.
~•~•~Mystery was amazed in its beauty, "wow!" She gasped.
~•~•~Quaro recalled what was to be done, "okay, this cave is enchanted, so it knows how many of us are here. I remember my mother telling me that only one ring per creature. The size of the ring doesn't interfere with its magic, but only the rings on the flower are magical."
~•~•~Mystery rolled her eyes, "any more warnings?" She askd.
~•~•~Quaro continued, "yes, if you as much as touch a water ring, this whole place could come don, and even then, if we get out, we will probbly be blown to bits by Xaron!" He was clearly frightened, then brightened up, "no presure!" He squeaked.
~•~•~Sparkstar let Quaro jump onto Mysterys back, and he spread his wings, "well, here I go!" He said, and flew to the center of the cave, above the flower. Steadying himself, his nose carefully approached one of the rings on a petal. His grabbed one with his teeth, and he flew back to Mystery and Quaro.
~•~•~Sparkstar put the ring on Mystery horn, and they galloped back to the place where they found Quaro, and, as they promised, dropped him back at his rock. They said their good-byes, and by the time the two horses reached the mouth of the cave, it was night time. They agreed to rest for the night.
~•~•~The sun was well above the horizon when the two friends were back at the field. As they trotted into the forest, Sprkstar looked at Mystery, "you don't have to accompany me the rest of the way, " he aid, "why not?" Said Mystry, "we ARE friends, right?" She asked. Sparkstar nodded, "yes, best friends." He confirmed.
~•~•~The sun set, and again, the two rested. Thr sun rose, and by sunset, Sparkstar had healled his mother. Rosebloom stood, "now, tell me about the adventure!" She said. Sparkstar told her about Xaron, meeting Mystery and Quaro, and the flower. When he finished, he asked if Mystery could stay ith them. Rosebloom looked at Mystery, "do you have ny family?" She asked. Mystery shook her head, "none." Rosebloom looked back at her son, "she may stay if she wishes." She nickered.

~•~•~Rosebloom died about 2 years ater, and Sparkstar and Mystery soon had a baby boy. The little colt was named Lightning, for he was a white alicorn with a black lightning bolt on his chest. The family still go and visit Quaro and his small family, and they lived hapilly ever after.

Sparkstar roamed the hills, looking for a specail flower, for all he knew was that he was to find it, and to bring it to his sick mother, Rosebloom. Her words replayed and replayed through his mind, "find the Flower of Rings and bring it back to me"...Flower of Rings and bring it back to me..." Sparkstar shuddered as he remembered the next part, "it is in a cave guarded by Xaron the dragon. The flower could save my life..." she had said.
~•~•~With that to influence him, Sparkstar began to trot as he approached mountains, *maybe the cave is in the side of a mountain!* he thought. A black and red dragon flew above the mountains. Sparkstar stopped, and stared at the beast, *Xaron!* he thought.
~•~•~A bautiful white unicorn galloped his way, "what do you think your doing!?" She snorted. "Do you know who that IS?" Shs jerked her head in Xarons direction.
~•~•~Sparkstar nodded, "Xaron. Who are YOU?" He whinnied.
~•~•~"Mystery" was all she said.
~•~•~"Sparkstar." He nickered. Spreading his wings, he galloped accross the field and was soon flying in the air. Sneaking past Xaron, carefully, he examined the mountainside for the cave. A black opening was in one of the mountains, and he flew back to Mystery, "I've found the cave!"
~•~•~Mystery looked confused, "what cave?" She asked.
~•~•~Sparkstar quickly told her about his quest, and how he was to retrieve a special flower. Mystery listened without interupting, and when he finished, Xaron had spotted them. He was flying their way.
~•~•~Sparkstar nudged Mystery into the forest and they ran for cover. Xaron opened his big mouth and spat flame at them. The horses stayed just ahead of the fire, and reached the forest safely.
~•~•~"Don't you think he'll follow us in?" Mystery panted.
~•~•~Sparkstar only shrugged, "I dunno, but just be glad he didnt." He nickered. He stepped out of the trees, looking around. Xaron had flown back to his mountains, and Sparkstar swished his tail for Mystry to follow.
~•~•~Together, they crossed the field again, and reached the mountains. Sparkstar faced Mystery, "you don't have to follow me the rest of the way." He nickered. Mystery was expecting this, "and let you miss all the fun? No way! I'm coming!" She whinnied. Sparkstar stared at her, then finally nodded, "okay, but stay close to me." He said and started to climb. Mystery watched him, "you know you have wings, right?"e asked, amused. Sparkstar rolled his eyes and spread his wings. He was about to take off when he looked back at Mystery, "I can fly, but how will YOU get through the mountains?" Mystery climbed past him as easy as if climbing was walking, "unicorns can do many things...many things...now get to flying, and let me know if Xaron comes back." Sparkstar nodded and sprung into the air.
~•~•~Looking around for Xaron, Sparkstar saw him on the other side of the mountains, "he's patrolling the other end of his territory." He called down to Mystery. She nodded and continued to climb.
~•~•~By sunset, the two friends had reached a ledge on the mountain and they decided to rest for the night. Mystery layed down and Sparkstar stayed up, watching for the dragon.
~•~•~The next morning, they kept climbing the mountains until they found the cave, "The cave!" Sparkstar shouted. The cave was really a long, winding tunnel with an eerie glow.
~•~•~The long tunnel was lit by torches, and Sparkstar had lost track of how long they were wandering the tunnel. A tiny, high-pitched voice spoke, "what are you doing here, creatures of the outside!" Mystery jumped at the voice, then asked, "who said that?" Again, the voice spoke, "it is I, Quaro, the bat." He said. Sparkstar laughed a little, "a bat? Is that what you were scared of, Mystery?" Quaro landed on a rock in front of them, "as I said, what are you doing here?" He asked again. It was Sparkstar who answered, "I'm on a mission to retrieve the Flowere of Rings for my sick mother." He said, "Mystery is assisting me in my quest." The bat nodded slowly, "ahh...the Healling Flower..." he said. Sparkstar thought for a moment, "yes, some call it the Healling Flower, but it is known to most creatures as the Flower of Rings." He nickered.
Quaro nodded, "yes, very good. It seems like someone studies their plants." He said. Mystery stepped towards him, "do you know how much farther it is?"
