  • --Dru--
I looked around, seeing the camp.
It sure looked more homey than mine did at the moment... Or really ever did. I quirked a smile and hiked up my pack. "It's nice," I murmured under my breath, surveying the campsite. I don't know why, but it sort of made me smile. A lot of things did, but this was... It was like I was part of something other than a top-secret ninjutsu School, and other than a twin-thing. I don't know why... but that thought kind of made me feel a little better.

  • [XD So true.... I love your characters, Fira, they make me laugh. :3]

    Rayk
    Well... That was... unexpected.
I raised an eyebrow and looked over at Flick with an expression like: 'Say, what?'
Then I muttered under my breath, "Do we really look like Hunger Games tributes? I thought a shower every couple days was good... " Albeit, the last part was mostly in jest. I did get a shower at least once a day when I broke into the School with Shift. I looked at Flick critically, narrowing my eyes. "No, yeah... You do make a passable Peeta," Shift chimed in, rearing up on his hind legs awkwardly to glare at Flick the same way I was, green eyes flashing as he cocked his head, his voice sounding gruffer than his normal higher-pitched tone. Must be talking past the fangs. That happened occasionally to me.
I looked over at Miss Dawkins again, eyebrow raised. "So," I mused, voice skeptical, "now that you took a stab at who we were," I stifled the urge to say 'hunger games tributes' and went on, "what's the deal with whoever that was? If you can... fly, then why are you here, and you don't know what the Erasers are?" I asked, voice dark with suspicion and curiosity.

  • There were a couple of books by my blanket, and I dropped my backpack beside them. "I'm hungry," whined the monster. I let out a bit of a grumble and browsed through my bag, tossing it a granola bar. "Yum~ Thanks Inny!" it said happily, unwrapping it and starting to eat. "How many times do I have to tell you not to call me Inny?" I muttered angrily. Then I turned to Dru. "Want one?" I asked her, pulling out two more.

  • [This is my intent. :D]

    Zahra
I sighed, turning around when Ryan spoke to me, rubbing my forehead wearily. "No, I don't," I replied quietly, "That was my mom. I'm at the school to learn. I'm here in this parking lot with you guys because I told off that- Eraser, or whatever, and got attacked for trying to keep it legal. I don't honestly know whats going on. All I know is my mom's being insane and refusing to tell me anything, as usual." More to myself then them, I said, "I just want to know why shes always been so secretive, thats all." Flynn had been snickering this entire time, which was rather grating. He seemed to find the idea of hunger game tributes amusing. I sighed. "I don't feel like giving you my entire life story, which includes a lot of being shut up in my room until I stopped telling everyone that I was a 'real life angel' or that I could 'fly like a tweety bird'. Do you want the supplies, or not? I've got papers I need to bring home so I can be ready to teacher science and something else tomorrow, my screenplay to finish for school, a student to take home since shes going to be staying with me a while, and my mother to deal with." Flynn snorted, and said mockingly,
"Tweet tweet!" I glared at him.

[One thing thats interesting is that birds don't have arms. The bones in their wings are basically arms. So when you give a human wings, its basically giving them a second pair of arms.
I kinda wish Rayk would get resentful towards Zahra since shes (no offence Zahra), but in comparison to his issues, shes a whiny little kid. It would be funny.

  • [align=center][Honestly, half the time I wonder how I've ever mangaged to get this far in roleplaying when I miss obvious details... *mutters to self for a good half hour*
Oh! And Metal, a while ago, Galen had actually went inside to sleep... *feels awkward* But! If you want, I can make her magically reappear under Kakumei!]

    {For some reason I seem to miss that stuff. Ah, I don't really care what happens. I'll just try to do something.}

  • [By the way, Fira... I can't remember, did we decide that Zahra was just 'the first Crystal experiment', or did we decide that she was also technically her mother?
If she was, I found her mini explosion funny, because it's like, at first you think, 'Their personalities are as different as night and day' and then she explodes and it's like, 'Oh, so that's where Crystal got her temper from...' XD
Also, Shift, if Flick is Peeta, then Rayk would probably be Gale, and Switch would be Katniss or something, and so....wouldn't it be better to compare yourself to Peeta, rather than Flick? *COUGH COUGH SPOILERS Peeta gets Katniss in the end SPOILERS END COUGH COUGH*]

    Crystal

Ok then. That was quite the blow up. I was actually rather impressed.
And nervous. I wouldn't openly admit it, but I was really freaked about going to her house. I mean, first of all, it was... a-a house. It sounds insane, but I'd never actually been inside your regular old house before. And she was so nice, part of me was scared that I would do something wrong, and screw it all up, and she'd hate me or- what was up with me? These kind of stupid, inconvenient thoughts was just...not...normal.
Maybe I could slip away while she was talking to the others.
    Live abroad.
    Never come back here again.
Sleep in trees, and live alone, and....... What the hey was wrong with me?

  • [We never decided it. I pointed out that there were ways they could have successfully done this.
I think it'd be cool if she was technically her mom, personally. Like, a dramatic twist. *darth vador voice* Crystal, I am YOUR MOTHER.
Yeah, I was wondering that myself. Though I'd compare Switch to Prim and Galen to Katniss. Galen is tougher, and Switch is all innocent and cute.]

    Zahra
Once I figured I'd calmed down enough to not snap at everyone, I turned to Crystal. "Sorry about the phone call," I said, a little sheepish, "My mom is super protective, and shes not happy I'm living on my own. If there's anything you have inside school, can you let me know? I have to go in there to get my own papers and stuff, anyway, so if you need to get stuff from where-ever you're staying, I can go inside and get everything while you're doing that." I smiled at her, trying not to look annoyed from the call. Seriously, couldn't she just tell me? Apparently not.

  • [Shift: *thinks really hard through that* Uhm... No, if I was Peeta and Switch was Katniss, then Nathan would be Gale...
Unless Flick really was Peeta, in which case Scrayp would be Gale, and Galen would be Katniss... Or Rayk was Peeta, Quinn was Gale, and Crystal was Katniss... ALthough Rayk looks more like Gale does, in my opinion. He's not blonde. But... If it's Rivvy, then Jay would be Peeta, and the Gale would be either Wren or Robin... Yeah...
Me: -.-" Wow, Shift. You really thought that out, didn't ya?
Shift: *nods* Yep! ... And Switch does remind me of Prim... *panicked expression* But she

    ... I said nothing...]

    --Dru--
With mild surprise, I looked up when Intel-san offered me a granola bar. I hadn't had anything to eat since lunch earlier, and before that... Some jerky the night before. As I was about to say something, my stomach let out a traitorous growl, and I smiled sheepishly. "Ahh, yes, please... Arigato, Intel-san," I mumbled, coming forward a bit to accept it, then retreat to a nontaken corner, intending to sit down.

    Rayk
And just when I thought we were in the clear...
A too-familiar girl came up that reminded me suspiciously of the all-white girl from the rooftop. Oi stinkin' vey. I closed my eyes and raised an eyebrow at Flick when I finally opened them. "Cut the crap, or I'll sic the putty tat on you," I muttered out of the corner of my mouth, nodding at Shift who still hadn't changed form. Taking a totally unintentional cue, he fixed Flick with his really green gaze and licked his chops. Yeesh... I wouldn't wanna be a canary. That'd be weird. I'm getting off topic. I cleared my throat and nudged Flick, glaring at him. "Anyway, I said, glancing around for Conner who hadn't shown up yet, "what are we going to do? I'm not gonna force anyone into anything. It's up to you.
Shift looked up at me, flicking his tail like 'I don't care, I just wanna be safe...' Apparently he hadn't noticed Galen was missing yet. That was good for now. I wasn't in the mood to try to seperate an angry cat from a winged kid from now. I sighed and introduced my palm to my face.
They better resolve this. 'Cause I sure as heck wasn't going to.

[Accidentally posted without the others! Just a second!]

  • "No problem," I murmured as I tossed her the granola bar. I opened up my own and started to eat it, plopping down on the ground. I heard Mac getting her own granola bar out of her bag and starting to eat. It wasn't really a meal, but it would help. We always stocked up a couple granola bars, just in case.

  • [*finally stops laughing, wiping tears from eyes* Shift.... you are just so great sometimes. You have no idea how often you brighten my day.
Anyhoo, Fira, I think we should do this. I like the idea of Crystal having a mother. ^u^
Crystal: ...I sense evil behind that smile.
Me: Aaaaanyway, how should that relationship be found out about/revealed??]

    Crystal

"I, um, ah," I stuttered, wondering how I of all people could be at a lost for words, and feel this awkward. Finally, I just muttered. "No, I've got everything in my backpack." I adjusted the bag as I said so.

    [WB D: ]

  • --Dru--
I accepted the bar gratefully, then sat down with my knees pulled up to myself, snarfing down the bar and feeling better than I had since school started. It was pretty good, and a far cry from the slop the school tried to poison us with. And, yes. I mean both Gakkou-School, and school-school. I'd dropped my bags behind me, and while sitting against them, they made a decent backrest. I'd get an area set up right after I finished the granola...
    First things first.

[Shift: I am happy I can accomplish such a feat, Kitsu! *bows* >^.^< (<-- Whiskers, 'cause I can)]

  • [Oh, Shifty, Shifty... I feel your pain. That was the main reason I HATED the last book. W-why? :'(

If everyone was a character from the books, regardless of love interests and gender, I think...:
    Nathan would be Cinna.
    Switch would be Prim.
    Galen would be Katniss.
    Flick would be Finnick.
    Shift would be Peeta
    Rayk would be Gale
Quinn would be that kid who went insane and ate the other tributes. Or Annie.
Crystal would be good as Katniss, too, but maybe she could be the mother who for most of the first book was awkward, then even more awkward in the second two. Or maybe Haymitch. Or Annie. Oh! No, she'd be Joanna!
    Ash would be Wiress
    Scrayp would be Cato.
And- I'm getting way off topic. Sorry.]

    Flick
I will not deny, the threat of the 'putty tat' made me laugh a little. The look that Shift gave me... not so much. A little scared.
    But I didn't show it!
Thats... good.... right? At his question, I looked around. Where WAS Dog Girl? Soon enough, I spotted her. She was coming over, giving every Eraser she stepped over a suspicious look, as if she wasn't sure it was down. When she found one waking up, she kicked his face so hard it practically smashed. Then she came over, looking with disgust at Shift, before focusing on Miss Dawkins, who'd turned to talk to someone else, and the first aid kit that looked more like a big suitcase. Suspicious looking.
There's a lot of suspicion going round here right now. *imitates southern accent* Its getting mighty suspicous-
(FLICK! SHUT THE HELL UP AND GET ON WITH THE STORY!)
    (Yes, ma'am. :p)
I opened my mouth, ready to explain what was going on to her, but she held up a hand, glaring at me. "No," she said to Rayk, "Its too suspicious. And convient. Who knows what could be in there?" She glanced at Miss Dawkins, not seeming to recognize her, even though I'd seen her in all of my classes at least once this year. Today it had been art. She was usually in Art or English.
Then Conner looked around, confused. "Wheres Galen?" she asked. I realized that Shift hadn't said anything. He probably thought she was still here.
    Oh, crap.

[In response to Kitsu: Cool. Well, I'm planning something with her mother and her, her mom explaining the truth. So maybe her mom knows about Crystal? We could do it like that. And yes, Crystal, there is evil behind that smile.]

    Zahra
I nodded, relieved that she didn't have anything else needed. "Alright." To the others, I said, "I'm just going to leave it here. If you want it, you can have it, if not... someone else will find it. Or run over it, possibly..." I shrugged. "I'll be right back," I said to Crystal, "Can I meet you at my car? You can't miss it, its completely white, with blue-bird stickers all over it, and my business information on the back. The license says 'MRSHMLLW=LV'."

['Marshmallow=Love'. Apparently licenses don't have vowels much. WB.]

  • Rayk
I hid a smile as Shift half-crouched when Conner said something and glared up at Flick, who was looking a tad uneasy. Shift's the master when it comes to scenting suspicious behavior. He took about three pawsteps towards Flick and narrowed his eyes, tail flicking from side to side. In a deceptively calm voice, he smiled a bit, as much as a cat can, and growled deep in his throat, "Flick... Where's Galen?"
I coughed a bit to cover my hidden grin and continued hacking for a few seconds before I'd recovered myself. Then Conner gave her two cents, and I agreed with the logic. "Good thought..." I started to say before Miss Dawkins left it there. She turned to talk to Snow Princess in a softer voice and I looked at the case. I thought about taking the supplies out of it and carrying it with me, just in case of a tracker... I'd have Shift or Conner go over it with a fine-toothed comb figuratively. (Why not literally - ) [Shift! OUT!] (Fine! Tou-chy!)
Anyway... Shift was glaring at Flick, Flick was probably either panicking or about to go all defensive, Conner didn't like Shift, and I was ready to just throw up my hands and call it off.
    Pretty normal, in other words.

[Gah, ha... That made me laugh, Fira. XD]

  • Flick
I'm sure Conner was completely satistfied with her days work of effectively, inderectly, ending my existence on this planet. I, on the other hand, wasn't exactly happy. But did I let them know how scared I was? Hell no. So instead, I said lightly, "Oh, shes back at camp. Cassidy hasn't been feeling well, so Alex went to check on her, and deal with Galen's cuts and stuff, and check on camp. Normal campy stuff. They're probably roasting things over a campfire right now. Shame we had to miss out on roasted 'putty tat'. S'pose we can try it later." Conner punched my shoulder, and I stuck my tongue out at her. "Oh! Or maybe you can chase down some squirrel's, since thats your specialty, isn't it?" I asked Conner mockingly, making fun of the many times she got distracted by the little rodents. She really hated squirrels.

  • Shift
I narrowed my eyes and focused on quickly becoming human once more.
"What... cuts?!" I asked carefully, gripping his shirt collar with both hands now, eyes flashing and a warning tone in my voice. Flicker got on my nerves, and I wondered how Galen hadn't killed him yet. So I settled for gripping him and resisting the urge to shake him up and down until he got some sense knocked into him...
And I was vaguely aware of Rayk hiding a smirk behind me.
    More's the pity.

  • Flick
I squeaked, startled, when he grabbed my collar and made like he was about to shake me like a rattle. Yes, I squeaked. DON'T JUDGE ME. "Just... like, claw scratches... And a bite... and a wrenched arm..."
And yes, I mumbled all this very very quietly in hopes he wouldn't hear everything and lose his temper. "But Alex can handle that!" I added quickly, then added, in more of a mutter, "I'm starting to think this will be a good thing for me in a few minutes once you're done."

  • [That list was beautiful and perfect, Fira. I am in awe. *w* Also, ironically, my sis was remarking (when we were discussing this earlier) that Flick would make an excellent Finnick. By the way, when you considered Crystal as Haymitch, I laughed really hard because it lead me to imagine a raving, drunk Crystal. That would be hilarious.
Also, good plan, good plan. ....There's usually evil behind my smiles. ^u^]

    [shadow=orange,left]Switch[/shadow]

I gently put a warning hand on Shift's arm. He was protective, and while usually cheerful, could easily lose his temper over things like Galen's well-being.
"Shift," I murmured. "Chill. If she was able to walk there, she's certainly not about to die or anything. She'll be fine."

    Crystal

I hid a smirk as she described her car. What an odd lady Zahra was. Certainly not bad though. Not like all those other annoying adults seemed to be... A bit of a busybody she was, maybe, but I could've also just been being sensitive. I tend not to enjoy people sticking their noses into my business.
With a short nod, I turned on my heel and strode across the grass, heading for the parking lot. Having great vision and all, I was already pretty sure I could see her car from here, based on what she'd described. BEN drifted behind me like he was being strung along like a balloon, still looking confused, probably because I'd agreed to something like this.
    I'd never been in a car, I realized. How....exciting...?

  • [It would. I was trying to think of a character as outwardly mean as her, and I realized that Haymitch kinda had a similar attitude. Thank god Crystal doesn't drink.]

    Zahra
I hurried inside, getting together all my papers, and dumping them in a bag, since I didn't have time to finish here, then ran right back out before I managed to lose control of my brief color again. I had parked a couple rows away from the door, so it wasn't hard to find my car. I put my stuff in the trunk, taking out my purse, since it had keys and stuff, then unlocked the car. Once Crystal and BEN came over, I said, "If you don't mind the slight mess, the front seat is free," to Crystal. Then I added to BEN, "Are you... able to sit? Because I put my stuff in the trunk so that you can sit in the back seat, I'm just not sure if... you can." I blushed, and this time managed to keep my hair from flashing more then a few streaks bright pink.

    [Her basic car:
    ]

  • Crystal

I opened the door and cautiously slid into the seat, glancing around. Huh. Like a TV show.
BEN, from next to me, shook his head. "Naw, I can just follow you guys." Then he disappeared. I still wasn't entirely sure how he followed without being....THERE, or where he even went when he wasn't there, but... I probably didn't want to know.
