She gave a tiny hint of a smile. "I thought you bad boys never wanted anyone around.

"Thats only true part of the time." he smiled.
-
"Then what do you do?" She asked, an eyebrow raised.
-
"When I'm lonely? I get over it."
-
"Oh." She said softly looking at her feet. "I'm sorry."
-
He shrugged. "Why should you be sorry? I doubt you even know my mame, much less me. Besides, its not that bad. I dont have any annoying, gossiping friends that would stab me in the back given the chance." he threw down his cigarette and sotwed away his lighter. "I'm heading to the park, if you wanna come."
-
"Okay." She uncrossed her arms. "So what is your name?"
-
"Nathan, and yours, dollface?" he said walking in long strides.
-
"Skyler." She said walking next to him.
-
"Pretty name, for a pretty face." he said smiling at her.
-
She blushed. "Uh, thanks." She said softly.
-
He smiled at her as hey arrived at the park. Finding his favorite tree, he plopped down and motioned for her to join him. He pulled out his guitar and started to tune.
-
She sat down next to him and watched him tune his guitar.
-
He started to strum a song he was working on. He added his words in after the intro. His voice rang smooth and clear.
Your smile was the first time I ever really saw
Your laugh was the first time I ever really heard
You made me me, you changed my mind
You made me think loving is really worth it -
She smiled. He doesn't seem so bad. He is sweet in a way, she thought.
-
The sun was starting to set so Nathan put away his guitar. "You should probably head home. It's getting dark." he said to Skylar.
-
"Okay." She said standing up. "Bye." She waved slightly and started walking away.
-
After she was out of sight, Nathan slung the guitar onto his back. He prolonged it as much as he could, but eventually he had to head home. he sighed and walk down the street to his father's apartment. He open the door, and tried to get to his room without waking his father
"Trying to sneak past me, are you?" Nathan heard his father's slurred voice.
"No sir." he said.
"Why would you be out th-this late?" his father asked, obviously drunk again.
"Its only eight o'clock." Nathan argued.
"DON'T BACK TALK ME, MISTER!" his father shouted. He raised his hand, and Nathan shrank away. The next morning Nathan woke up late and sore. After debating with himself, he decided to go to school. He got out of bed and straightened up. The bruise on jis face was black and blue. His. Excuse would be another fight, but some people would wonderwy he got into so many fights. Oh well, it wasn't thier business.
-
Skyler walked in the school and went to her locker.
-
Since he was late, he didn't see Skylar that morning. So he decided to come over and say hi during lunch. "He, dollface! Did you enjoy our little walk yesterday?" he said, enjoying the looks on her friends' faces.
