Jekyll shook his head violently in a feeble attempt to chase his mind away. He knew that nothing short of death would rid him of the being infesting his conscious self, but he shook his head anyway, shook it with a vehemence that was unlike him.
You know that won't help, Utopia sneered. You know you can't chase me out.
Jekyll ran.
He left the cave at a dead sprint, tore across the hills as fast as his legs could carry him, all the while chased by laughter. Run! Run, if you think it will help you! Run, little maggot, run like it will keep me from picking you up and making you dance! Run!
At last the Skeleton reached a small copse of trees near the Skull's border. He glared at it, hating the cats there with a passion, but he had other things to do. Sizing up the trees around him, he found a thick one and backed up.
Jekyll lowered his head and charged. Slamming his head into it with as much force as he could muster, he struck the hardened bark with a sound crack. Staggering back a few steps, the tabby shook his head with the pain of a sudden headache shaking him to the core.
The headache suddenly lessened, as if pressure was loosening in his head. Jekyll frowned, confused, and had enough time to realize it was Utopia's doing before he was dropping to the earth, writhing with sudden, fierce pain. Sharp stones were driving into him, worms were crawling just under his skin, claws were plunging into his eyes. Pierced by unseen fangs, scorched by flickering tongues of fire, Jekyll screamed.
In seconds it was over, though it had seemed like moons to him. Panting on the sparse grass, he lay there, staring warily at the bright sky. A bird, too high in a tree to be bothered by him, warbled cheerfully, and he glared in its general direction. It was too much effort. He dropped into a neutral expression, eyes glazing over.
So you think you can drive me away. Jekyll flinched from the condescending tone, but it continued, harsh and unforgiving. You will obey me, and if that means killing everyone you care about, so be it. Remember that. Utopia retreated, and Jekyll groaned, gazing wearily up at the cheerful scene above him.

"You know, I thought me clawing a tree was extreme....But now I see that you're the crazy one of the family."
Ignifer appeared next to his brother, his eyes drowning with worry despite his teasing remark. He had watched the tom's outburst from the distance, aching to rush to the cat's help every second. The poor skeleton looked horrid, and Iggy instantly regretted his choice to stay out of it.
He sat down next to him, hoping to comfort his beloved little bro...Or so he liked to call him, even if they were the same age.. "What's wrong Jekyll?" Iggy cooed over the tom and moved his tail to pat Jekyll's head gently. Ignifer knew well how it felt to not be in control of you own body, since he had his own dark creature locked tightly inside his mind.
He felt weird acting so caring, but his brain reacted oddly, urging him to help out his brother.

A voice. A voice was speaking again, but this time he could tell it was outside his head. It was familiar, too. Ignifer. Jekyll struggled with his throat for a few moments before managing to rasp, "Hey." He managed to turn the corners of his mouth up slightly, but could only hold them for a few minutes.
"I'm- I'm fine, I-" Suddenly it was too much, just too much to bear. He needed to tell someone, he needed someone to lean on. Before he knew it he was sobbing, dry, wracking sobs that shook his whole body. He couldn't tell his brother, not even his brother. It was too much to bear, but he had to. He couldn't suck anyone else into this nightmare, couldn't let anyone help him, or Utopia would make him hurt them for helping him rebel. He couldn't, and it hurt him more than any headache could.

Ignifer was pleased to see that his brother was responding, the nagging worry floating down a little. "We should get you to Coffee and Amani." He meowed, dragging his tongue across Jekyll's shoulder. When the tom started to sob, Iggy's eyes went wide with surprise and he sat down again, puffing his fur softly as he shuffled close to the tabby. The worry was back, what was happening to Jekyll? It hurt the coal tom to only sit and comfort Jekyll, but it was all he could do at the time.

In between sobs, Jekyll frantically shook his head, trying to communicate his aversion to Ignifer's idea. There was no way he would tell anyone. He hated himself, hated the way he was crying like a baby, hated the way he had let Utopia in his mind, hated the way he couldn't even control himself. But no one, not even Amani, could rid him of this curse.

"You don't seem fine... What's wrong?" asked Sage as he looked at cat start to produce little tears. The lynx probably wasn't going to be the best comforting cat but he could help he was twice the size of the cat.

Ignifer frowned. "Jekyll, you just slammed your head against a tree trunk. You could suffer brain damage and could lose something important, like your eyesight or memories." He hated to threaten such a thing, but he didn't want to see his brother with injuries from neglecting help.

Jekyll stumbled to his feet, tears still running through his fur. "I'm fine," he rasped, and indeed there was not a mark on him for all of his suffering. He still ached, a hollow ache that he suspected would linger for days, but he had sustained no bruising on his head. Utopia had seen to that, and of course his assault had been purely mental power. There had been no physical fiery claws tearing into his fur, no real blows that rocked his body. "Don't worry about me, brother. Please."
