    "Your kit is nearly six moons old, until then you can be with your kit but when she has her naming ceremony you are our deputy."

    Sunkit sat there looking up at her leader and her eyes shone as she said, "Sunkit!" "You will now be known as Sunpaw!" Rustfur and Raven waited until Sunpaw and her mentor touched noses. Then they raced toward her purring loudly.

    "Sunkit- er - Sunpaw! You've grown so much." Raven purred and locked her kit on her head.

    "Thanks!" she purred

    Raven then remember that she was deputy now... In line to be the next leader, and from what she heard Willowstar only had two lives left. She turned back to Sunpaw. "I know you'll be a great warrior!" She purred.

    Sunpaw put her tail over her mothers back and then went over to the other apprentices.

    Raven smiled happily then relized all the other cars eyes were fixed on her. What do I do now? She cried out in her head.

    Rustfur knew that Raven was having trouble. He wanted to help.



    Willowstar made her decision. She stalked out of her den and called every cat. "I have discussed a new deputy." "I know that Raven would have been a wonderful deputy but i also know she is having troubles." "I name the new deputy Rustfur!" Yowls of approvement came from the crowd of cats. But what shocked Raven was that Rustfur looked surprised.

    Raven let out a sigh of relief then padded over to Rustfur. "I'll bet you'll be a great deputy." She mumured into his ear.

    "Thanks." He meowed. He ran over to Sunpaw and gently cuffed her over the ear. "Your growing so fast!" he meowed. The other cats seemed exited because her father was now deputy.

    Sunpaw bounded over to her mother almost knocking her over.

    "Sorry" she mewed.

    She mewed exitedly and jumped over a kit while going to the apprentices den.

    Raven purred and got up. She padded over to Rustfur and rubbed her cheek along his muzzle.

    "Hey Windpelt take your new apprentice hunting"! "Yes Rustfur". Windpelt mewed. "Sunpaw"! "Let's go hunting!" Rustfur smiled happily as Sunpaw bowled over her new mentor and ran toward the entrance.

    Raven sighed, but she was happy. She padded around the camp and saw one of her best friends, Lillyheart. "Hi Lillyheart!" Raven greeted her.
