    They raced side by side matching eachothers stride step for step. They swerved to avoid hitting trees or bushes. Rustfur glanced at Raven, a spark of trouble in his eyes. He suddenly shot ahead leaving Raven. Raven became panicked. She could no longer see Rustfur. "Rustfur?" All the sudden she saw a flash of ginger fur and the cat tackled her. The cats rolled and rolled. When they stopped Raven stood up ready to attack, but she saw it was Rustfur rolling on the ground laughing. She dropped to laughing.

    Many moons later Raven sat their panting. After she caught her breath she sat up and licked her kit who looked just like her father exept for the white.

    She purred proudly. "My kit..." She mumured. She looked around for Rustfur. Hoping that he would come in and see the kit. She waited for him, her tail flicking back and forth.

    Rustfur burst in the nursery. "What are you going to name her?" he asked between licks on the kit's orange and white fur.

    "Calm down Rustfur!" Raven purred. "Hmm... I was thinking Sunkit." She meowed and licked her kit on the top of her head.

    "It's perfect." he meowed

    Raven's blue eyes sparkled. "Our little Sunkit." She purred and curled her tail around the sleeping kit.

    Rustfur curled his body around the sleeping kit. His eyes twinkled. "A perfect kit" he whispered, "our Sunkit."

    Raven purred and licked Rustfur lovingly on the cheek. She looked back down at Sunkit, who was sleeping softly, the medicine cat purred, "Your kit is strong and healthy!" The took one more look at the kit before leaving. Raven gave Sunkit another lick on the head before resting her paws on her head.

    Rustfur licked both sleeping cats and left to go hunt. he would check back later.

    Raven slept nicely, dreaming of her little Sunkit becoming an apprentice, and then a warrior. She purred in her sleep. A few heart beats later, she was awake again. Sunkit woke up and began mewling. Raven drew the kit closer to her. The kit soon stopped mewling.

    Rustfur pushed his way into the nursery. He dropped the squirrel he had in his jaws at Raven's feet.

    "Yes. He mewed

    When Rustfur was done eating he tossed a mossball back and forth with his kit. He had given Raven just enough time to go hunting for the elders before Sunkit started mewling.

    Raven dropped the prey off with the elders before returning to Sunkit. She licked Sunkit on the top of her head and nuzzled Rustfur.

    Willowstar called every cat into the clearing. "Since the death of our beloved deputy i have to appoint a new one." Rustfur and Raven sat in the clearing with Sunkit. "Raven!" "I have been thinking about your loyalty." "So therefore, Raven is our new deputy!"

    Raven gasped. "But I have a kit! How can a be a clan deputy and take care of Sunkit?" She protested. "There must be some other cat that could take my place." Murmurs of agreement rippled through the clan.
