The sound of claws scraping the packed dirt floor hit Moonkit, and she snapped her neck to one side to see Misttail awake, her eyes wide with fear. She padded over and sat down, completely forgetting her antics with the snow.
"Are you okay?" she mewed. "You look scared."
Yes, I'm in SnowClan, but... Not really... (RPG, Open to All)

Misttail trembled as she nodded, unsure of even her own feelings at the moment. "Stop. I need to guide Moonkit and myself. I can't do that if I'm scared lifeless by a little dream" she told herself. "I think we should stay here for a while" she mewed to Moonkit.
-
"Okay," Moonkit replied. She looked around their new shelter, and something hit her. This place wasn't much different from the shelter she had been living in before Misttail had rescued her (aside from being much bigger, so they could both fit). What's the difference? she asked herself. Misttail. Misttail was the difference. But instead of being miserable, like she had been in her old shelter, she felt happy. Almost at home. Before she could stop herself, her emotions took reign.
"Thanks for saving me," she mewed, purring and rubbing up against Misttail. "I probably would've died if you hadn't saved me." -
Misttail looked softly down at the kit. She licked her head, then looked outside. "Were you having fun? I mean, playing with the snow?" she whispered, her mind drifting as she looked at the snow falling. Misttail remembered playing in the snow, too. Exept it could only be at night, when she wouldn't be yelled at for leaving the den. Then, suddenly, as if she had just been yelled at, she flattened her ears and shook her head. "You know, I should really go and hunt for some food. You must be starving!" she smiled.
-
"It's true!" Moonkit giggled. "To both things!" At this, she leaped out of the shelter and into the snowbank very near the shelter entrance to play. The snow pack was so deep that its cold surface brushed her belly fur, so she had to bounce awkwardly to move. When she saw a big flake, she hopped after it and dislodged her front paws from the snow to grab it. But her sense of success was short lived; As soon as her paws caught the flake, she would lose her balance and fall face-first into the snow. Each time, she pushed herself up from the tiny trench in the snow formed by her falling body, and repeated the process. All the while, she giggled uncontrollably.
-
Misttail laughed until her eyes stung with tears. She wheezed and got up. "Alright, then. Stay around this tree, and if you hear anything, hide up on this branch until I come, okay?" she pointed with her tail to a low branch that could conceal her if need be. Misttail chuckled to herself one more time before dissapearing into the white blurr of the snowy forest.
-
"Okay!" Moonkit shouted after her. Sticking close to the tree, she continued her game with the snowflakes until she had fallen so many times that her face and whiskers were caked with clumps of snow. A strange silence suddenly snaked its way into Moonkit's conscience, like the shocked recession of noise after the collapse of a mine. A scent she had known for days stung her nostrils, but this time much stronger; the scent of Snowclan. Was it Snowclan? It smelled nothing like Misttail, and Moonkit wouldn't have been able to smell her anyway, since she was downwind from her. She froze, and looked in the direction that the smell seemed to be coming from. Silhouetted against the reflection of the sun on the snow, was a cat, directly upwind from her. Immediately, Moonkit scrambled up the branch and silently observed the cat, the chill of the snow in her fur fighting with fear for her attention.
-
Misttail hunted deeper into the forest, her peircing eyes searching constantly for prey. She finally spotted a plump mouse sitting on a log, and she immediatly crouched down onto her stomach, the snow almost caving in around her. She crept closer to the mouth, then dove onto it, her teeth biting viciously into it. Flavor flooded her mouth; it felt like so long ago had she tasted such a wonderful thing. She picked herself up and began to walk back to where Moonkit was. When she got there, she smiled as she saw the tracks of the playing kit. In fact, where was she? Misttail thought, oblivious to the other cat watching down on her.

OOC: If you want to advertise you threads, use this thread. Avoid using other people's roleplay threads. :)IC: Moonkit's fear began to diminish as the scent of Misttail and freshkill cut through the scent of the mysterious shadow of a cat at the edge of Moonkit's vision. When she arrived at the clearing, the distant cat hadn't budged.
"Misttail!" Moonkit said from her branch in an urgent but audible whisper. "Look!" she turned her head toward the cat, and she nearly fell from her branch. It was headed straight for them.OOC: I will advertise and see if anyone wants to play this cat. :)

OOC: Accepted! Really, the cat(s)'s role in the story is up to you. It's an open roleplay, and I think everyone should be allowed to make their contribution to the storyline. :)

(Owl city!)
Solarpelt looked around. He scented the air for the banished/missing kit.

Misttail walked over to the tree where Moonkit was, then looked surprised whenher head popped nervously out from the branch. "What's the matter?" she asked gently, dropping the fat mouse by her feet. She knew Moonkit would only hide if someting was wrong, not out of superstition. She suddenly felt self-concious, like a pair of unwanted eyes were watching her.

OOC: Moonkit and Misttail have been out for a day. They spent the might in a shelter, and in the morning Misttail went out to hunt, telling Moonkit to stay near the tree and climb up into the branch if anything happened. Moonkit saw cats in the distance so she climbed up the tree. The cats are on their way over, and Misttail has just returned.IC: Moonkit shook uncontrollably, and she had to dig her claws into the bark of the tree to stop herself from falling. "They're coming this way!" she whispered. "Look!" She turned her body to look again at the approaching cats. "There!"

Runningpaw limped along, cobwebs wrapped around her left foreleg and stretched across her forehead and nose. Her dandelion yellow eyes drooped from lack of sleep, and her tail dragged along behind her in the earth. After a few moments, the young, former apprentice scented two cats up ahead. Unsure if she would have to defend herself or not, Runningpaw stopped and slid her claws out, her tired gaze fixed on the two cats ahead. She was so sore that she knew she might be easy prey, but she wasn't about to let that weigh her down. Even though the two cats seemed harmless, the she-cat felt defensive, mostly because she wasn't in her right mind, partially drunk off fatigue, and partly because it was an instinct. A weak, tucked away one, but still an instinct.

Solarpelt looked to the apprentice. The wind shifted to his favor and he quickly scented the kit. He quickly caught a mouse and brought it along to the kit. When he stepped out of the bushes he was surprised to see a full grown warrior. He dropped the mouse, his jaw hanging open. This wasn't the kit, she wasn't even a kit.

Misttail felt her fur bristle up and her ears flatten when she saw the cat. She quickly hissed and stepped closer, defendant of Moonkit. She unsheathed her claws, trying her best to hide the fear bubbling inside of her.
