Venefica, a beautiful moon dragon, sat atop a plain grey stone, twirling a rose between her nimble front paws. She sighed, and looked at the night sky. It was dark, with a claw-scratch of a moon and few stars. Venefica tore off a rose petal, and sent it whirling away through the mild breeze. The petal sailed away, a bloodred tear in the sky.

Venefica leaped to her feet, wings upright and claws out. She relaxed as she saw another dragon. '"Hello. What brings you here?" she chirped nonchalantly, slowly lowering her wings but not taking her eyes off the unfamiliar dragon.
