A yowl mixed with suprise and pain escaped Midnightsky jaws as a fox sunk it's teeth into one of her hind legs. Clumsy without the use of it, she twisted around and raked her claws down the canine's long muzzle, leaving two long red paths oozing scarlet liquid. With an agonized howl, the fox let go and blazed across the clearing out of camp.

  • The foxes howled and growled, deciding to retreat as they ran off, tail between their legs. Some of them were too injured to follow, as they fell over, never to get up again.
    --
Icefire slowly woke up, her head dizzy.
    --
Bluekit was still in the tree.

  • Midnightsky pulled herself to her paws and gave her hind leg a quick lick. Two neat holes showed where the fox had puntured her skin with it's teeth. Luckily, it wasn't too deep.

  • "Icefire! Are you okay?" Brightcloud called as she retrieved Bluekit. She scooped the kit up, bringing her to Icefire. "The foxes are gone now. We're all safe." She mewed softly, setting Bluekit next to Icefire.

  • Stormwing looked at her two new-born kits, and licked the two she-cat's fur. "I'll name the brown tabby, Hopekit. The grey tabby shall be known as Faithkit." She purred.

  • "Thank you.." Stormwing purred. "I know they are destined for greatness, since they were born in a fox attack..." She looked at Faithkit and Hopekit as they suckled.
    --
Ravenkit scooted closer to the kits, making them warm and cozy.

  • Midnightsky shook her head as she regained her balance. There were others who were probobly more badly injured than she was and after all, it was just one wound. And who exactly was Lilystep? Perhaps a cat that had studied herbs, was Midnightsky's guess.
