  • Pantherstrike watched the fish splash around below him, the tom's mind wandering to Rainwolf. Where had she gone and was she okay? Suddenly his mellow expression shifted to anger. She abandoned him. Pantherstrike was so tired of being deserted.

Hear the sound of the falling rain
Coming down like an Armageddon flame (Hey!)
    The shame
The ones who died without a name

Hear the dogs howling out of key
To a hymn called "Faith and Misery" (Hey!)
And bleed, the company lost the war today

I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies
This is the dawning of the rest of our lives
    On holiday

Hear the drum pounding out of time
Another protester has crossed the line (Hey!)
To find, the money's on the other side

Can I get another Amen? (Amen!)
There's a flag wrapped around a score of men (Hey!)
A gag, a plastic bag on a monument

I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies
This is the dawning of the rest of our lives
    On holiday

  • Pantherstrike lifted his gaze from the river to Icepaw, meeting her stare with pained eyes. "I am so sick," he meowed under his breath in a defeated tone, "of being left alone."

"Icy?" that voice belonged to Runningpaw. She beamed, lunging forward to cover her sister with licks. "Oh my gosh, I haven't seen you in forever! What happened to Rain, Moon, Pantherstrike, and Blueparadise?!"

  • "Runningpaw!!" Icepaw said joyously. "Pantherstrike's right here next to me, Rain left, Blueparadise... i don't know, Apple.... he... left." she added sadly, her voice barely a whisper, trying not to let Pantherstrike hear, "and Moon... died..." She pressed herself closer to Pantherstrike, trying to comfort him.

"What?!" bellowed the black speckled white apprentice, rushing to comfort Pantherstrike. "There is a positive. We're almost warriors." she said unhelpfully.

  • OOC: Guys. Moon is back!!!!!!!!
    ----
The large tom dropped his head. Although he already knew, it made his heart drop every time someone announced it.

  • Moonshadow slithered down the rocks of the mountain, gravel crunching under her paws as she began her descent from the snowy peaks and back towards the forest. Will they even remember me? she wondered sadly, pausing to look down at the achingly familiar territory.

  • Pantherstrike began to get annoyed with the cats' pity and "comfort." He just wanted to be left alone to mope for now. "I'm gonna.. go on a walk," he announced, dragging himself from the river and the two apprentices. The tom shot a look back at them, telling them not to follow him. Pantherstrike descended into the pines, just him and his thoughts.

  • Moonshadow muttered a curse under her breath as she slid down the gravel, pausing as her paws landed back on solid rock again. Her eyes grazed the trees below as she broke into a run, her pads stinging as hurried down towards the trees.

  • Pantherstrike sat down under a pine in the middle of the forest, his head drooping. The position had become the norm for him - head down, constantly moping. He couldn't accept that Moonshadow was dead.. There's no way she is dead. She's a fighter. She is alive and coming home to me right now, he thought comfortingly, only to be pained when he realized it was all a hoax. "Why, why, why, why!!!!!!!!!!!!!" he said, growing progressively louder and letting the tears stream down his face. "Why did you take her from me?!?!"

  • Moonshadow slid around the ledges, pausing as she heard desperate wails. Her ears flattened with worry and she hurried onwards, dropping down to the grassy ground and rushing forwards. "Pantherstrike?" she yowled loudly, weaving through the trees.

  • Over his painful sobs, he thought he heard a familiar noise. "She's dead, you moron," he growled to himself. "You're imagining things." The tom collapsed into himself and wept for his losses.

  • Moonshadow swiveled her ears, brambles tearing at her pelt as she raced towards the noise. "Pantherstrike!" she yowled again, crashing through the frosted forest. "Pantherstrike!"

  • Pantherstrike lifted up his head, his eyes watery and his face stained with tears. The voice echoed throughout his ears. Am I being delusional?? the tom thought, sniffling. "Moonshadow?" he mewed, feeling smaller than the smallest kit.
