Esme smiled a little bit at her adopted son. "Jasper." She said in a form of greeting,"How are you today?" It was a blunt question, but it was all that she could think to say. She was relieved, though, to have somebody to talk to.

"It's a bit too quiet for my liking, but I can't necessarily argue since nobody is in any form of trouble." Esme admitted with a shrug.

Jasper nodded in agreement. "I hope it stays that way. Would you like to hunt? I need something to keep myself from worrying about Alice."

Esme gave a small smile,"Alice is a smart and strong independent, Jasper." She said, but she understood his protectiveness torwards the girl,"But, if it makes you feel better, I will happily go hunting with you."

Seth smelled animal blood. He shook his head and followed the scent to see which of the Cullens it was.
