  • She played with the hem of his shirt before taking it off of him.

A dragon landed on her balcony, "Nocte?" The voice was half startled and completely embarrassed. It turned it's head away and lifted a wing to cover his face, "They need you and Shade at the border..."

  • He got his own shade of red on his face. He put his shirt back on. "Let's go." He saud, shifted, and flew off.

  • Nocte grumbled and adjusted her shirt before following. Her face had been the mixed colors of embarassment and a hint of anger. The dragon led them to the island farthest south.

  • "We don't know. But it's not one of ours." One of the older dragons spoke.

Nocte looked at the dragon. "I don't think it's from any clan."

  • "Most likely." The older dragon spoke.
The dragon that had come to fetch them stood talking to the other three dragons in the patrol.

"Why is it dead on out territory? That's what I want to know." She stepped closer, looking for a wound.

  • The female cast an envious glare at Nocte. One of the males grumbled something that made the other laugh. The one that fetched them shhh-ed the group and cast an embarrassed glance at the group around the body. The elder was looking closely at the body.

Nocte looked at the dragon curiously. She heard laughter and looked up in time to see the girl's glare. She growled and stepped back towards Shade and pressed her side to his.

  • "I'll come back with the Healer when the patrol is done. Thank you for coming out here."

Nocte nodded respectfully, "It's my job." She turned around and glared at the female before opening her wings and leaping into the air.

  • He shifted to human. He needed some time on his own. But in the sky he could see one of the males following Nocte and got a little suspicious.

  • Nocte didn't notice her follower. Her mind was occupied with thoughts about Shade, the dead dragon wasn't important anymore.

The male flew above her, still unnoticed.
