Nocte sat atop the temple her clan called home in her dragon form. Her dark scales shimmered in the morning light that reached into the cavern and shone on the building. She silently watched as the clan awoke and began their day.
Shade was already awake. His grayish scales seeming to reflect he sunlight. He grunted in contentment, feeling at peace.
Nocte jumped from the building and flew down to the entrance of the temple. She shifted and walked inside.
Shade noted a deer walking by and began to stalk it.
Nocte went to the library hidden in the temple and pulled out an old book. Only the older clanmates knew about it.
Soon Shade returned to the temple with a few deer.
Nocte curled up on the windowsill with the book.
Shade saw her in the window. He turned to human and entered the lobrary.
She looked up from her book and smiled.
Shade grinned slightly. "Hey Nocte."
"Hey, how was hunting?"
"It was okay." Shade replied. He soon sat in the same window but was on the opposite side.
She set the book down and pulled her knees closer to her to offer more room on the seat.
Shade did not notice. He was looking outside.
Nocte looked out the window as well.
"Want to go for a flight or a swim in the lake?" Shade asked.
Nocte nodded, "Sure. A swim sounds fun."
"Okay."Shade said. Ge hopped down and waited for her.
Nocte stood and walked to the door.

Shade followed behind her.
