The Kit that has Nothing

    Autumn, the little she-kit who was abandoned at birth, now looks around, wondering what this place is. The kit that has nothing, she thought. I have no one to teach me how to survive, I have no one to take care of me, and I have no knowledge of anything. Her ears lift at the sound of the leaves rustling in the wind as her eyes follow a squirrel running up a tree. Is there anyone who can show me the way of life?

    Fernpaw, a loner soon to join Nightclan, strides up. She was about to pounce, but then noticed how small the cat she was facing was. " Umm... hi, my name is Fernpaw" she said. "What is yours?"

    Her ears and hair shot up, shocked to hear a voice. She swiftly turned around to face a cat much bigger than her. She was so scared she flattened her body against the ground as her ears fell back. Her tail was also neatly tucked under her, not wanting to be exposed. "Please don't hurt me!" she shouted.

    It is okay. I would NEVER hurt a kit. I am lost, like you. Both of my parents are dead. Come with me. I will take care of you.

    A larger cat appears. Even larger than Fernpaw. She mews, "Hi my name is Brookgaze. I am the leader of Mediclan. Soon I am going to go to the Moonstone to get my new name- Brookstar. I will not hurt you either. I am a medicine cat, and I am Fernpaw's friend."

    OOC: I thought Medicine Cats can't be leaders.


    IC: Autumn looked at both cats, scared at the fact that they were both bigger then she is. She managed to mumble, "Wh-what do you want with me?"

    "We will help you train to be able to fight off the harms of the forest, if you would like." replied Fernpaw.
    OCC: Everyone in the clan is a medicine cat, except for kits :D

    OOC: Oh my bad.
    IC: She looked up to Fernpaw, thought for a while, then replied, "That sounds like a great idea. My name's Autumn by the way."

    "You're welcome" said the tabby apprentice. Fernpaw smiled. She didn't know many kits that were loners, and she wanted to protect the young kit."Are you hungry?" she asked.

    Her little eyes lit up when she heard those words. "I'm starving!"

    "Alright, I will teach you to hunt. I know you may not be an apprentice, but you gotta learn someday. Follow me." *Shows Autumn the hunter's crouch* *Autumn catches a plump vole* "Good job Autumn" said Fernpaw. Then, Fernpaw caught a large rabbit. Autumn, Fernpaw, and Brookstar ate their tasty fresh kill. "I have to go do my leader duties" said Brookstar. she left.

    Autumn gazed up at the stars. "Shouldn't we head for shelter now?"

    "Lets make a nest out of this bracken and moss. It will be cold tonight, so I will keep you warm. "

    After a good night's sleep, Fernpaw taught Autumn some more hunting techniques. They also play- fought for a while.

    After having a large amount of fun, Autumn leaned over to Fernpaw and said, "Thank you. I've never had family or friends before."

    "I almost know what it feels like, having both my parents dead" Fernpaw said sadly. "They both died the death of a Warrior, though..."

    Autumn tried to say something but she was speechless so she just let her head droop as her eyes filled with emptyness.
