  • Jasper calmly sat down at the lunch table near the stage, as he did every day at 12:05. His hands clutched the tray tightly, and his eyes scanned the cafeteria - no sign of them. Yet.
Taking a deep breath, the dark-haired boy settled down and began to eat what the school passed off for vegetable soup - or was it chilli? Whatever it was, the kid had no right to complain. His parents tried hard to enroll him in school, and living in poverty meant that he had reduced lunches, unlike most of the boys in his grade.
Slowly, Jasper picked up the spoon and dipped it into the mystery stew, pursing his lips to sip the contents from the plastic silverware - although, the spoon totally missed his mouth as his head was violently smacked by the backhand of a laughing jock.
The boy narrowed his eyes and whipped around, facing the hideous, sneering face of Alec Molkek. The blond boy snicked harshly, although it sounded more like a weasel being strangled.
"Gay boy!" Alec mused, making the three boys behind him laugh mockingly; all had the same blond hair and danger-filled eyes as Alec, but all of different sizes and different eye colors. Slipping into the chair next to Jasper, the bully snatched the tray right from under his hands, for the dark haired boy was too afraid to stand up the the kid - he was much bigger and quick to remarks. "What we having for lunch today?"
He said nothing, only stared down at the table. This had been going on for the past couple days, and yet, Jasper couldn't find his strength to express his feelings. He only shrugged. "Soup or chilli, if I'm right..."
A stout boy with a buzz cut and green eyes hissed, "You don't know?"
Jasper flinched. "I... well, you see... um..." Pause. "No."
The blond smiled smugly and rubbed his hands together. Crap, the dark haired boy thought. Not good.
Alec shoved Jasper to the floor, which caused a loud cheer from his henchmen. As the boy lay there, winded, the blond placed his foot on his chest and pushed so hard Jasper felt like his lungs would explode from his ribs.
"Why are you so stupid?" Alec snarled, pushing harder with his foot. When Jasper didn't reply, Alec spat, "I asked you a question, Gaysper!"

Archer had been across the room, staring at a wall intently. But, hearing Alec's remarks, he looked up. Not only was he against bullying, he was against the bullying of gays, lesbians, etc. That had always made him an outcast. So, this boy with brown hair, walked over. He didn't hesitate to try and shove Alec away, willing to defend the boy on the ground. His face was set in a scowl, and his mysterious golden-green eyes blazed with anger.
" Back off. What did he ever do to you?" Archer challenged in a voice that sounded like a dog growling. There was a threat woven into his words, making the six foot, muscular boy look all that more intimidating. Clearly, he wasn't having any of this.

  • Alec stumbled back when he saw the other boy. His eyebrows knitted into a glare, and he curled his lip, clenching his fist.
"Last time I checked, Archer, you didn't have anything to do with this, so you might as well walk away."
"Yeah." This came from a red headed boy named Aaron, who had turned his attention from his tray to the fight. He wasn't exactly a friend of Alec, but did hang around him during football season. "You might want to go easy, Archer..."
The blond boy fixed his harsh eyes on Aaron. "Shut up, Aaron," he snapped, but when he turned back to Archer, his eyes held amusement. "Let the guy choose on his own."

Archer narrowed his eyes, then glanced down a Jasper. The dark haired boy seemed to be alright, so his golden eyes shifted back to Alec. " Well, see, now I can't because I'm already in it. So I suggest that you back off." Archer said darkly, glaring at him an his henchmen.

Redd leaned against the wall, his dark eyes closed as he heard the boys harass the gay kid. He knew he couldn't interfere. Interfering meant attention and attention meant anger and anger meant violence which lead to expulsion. Every time. He knew he should do something, but that didn't mean he would. He lifted his head up, his eyes opening. Deep golden and brown swirled densely as he watched another boy defend the gay kid. He rolled his eyes. [i]Why must we all defend those we don't know. Am I the only one aware of the repercussions that came with the heroism?[i]
Shaking his head, he dug his hands further into the pockets of his designer jeans, the long fingers on his left hand fingering the cool hilt of the six inch he carried with him everywhere.
