  • Madeline looked at him, feeling her mind tremble. Her heart was racing. *Im sorry.* She thought. Hher mind wasnt trying to tell him something. "Im sorry." She said and shakily, bowed her head ashamed. Her large wings were flat against he rback. Her face turned red, although her brain was on overdrive. "I just have had bad experiences with telepathics." She told him, her braids falling past her shoulder.

  • I shook my head. 'No...I should have asked before intruding like that. I'm the one who should be apologizing.' I signed. I placed a gently hand on her shoulder after that. 'So...I'm sorry.' I told her, offering an apologetic smile before I closed my eyes. 'It's just easier for me to talk to you this way.' I added, pushing these words out toward her with my mind and hoping she would receive them.

  • OOC: Once Questy replies, I can reply to Signi and Punch. Just, wait for her X3 I need to let her do her thing with Riven before Nova is discovered and Ever returns with Iris.

  • ooc: I thank you from the bottom of my heart for waiting Kitsu! (Meh computer was on the blitz last night, gosh darn it) I shall now reply to the best of my ability! :)

    ic: Riven
Huh, what do you know? I apparently function as an armrest squared with a snarky sense of humor, and the armrestees knew Filipino and Galician. This could work out.
I reached up with a hand and brushed off one of the twins - Jay? Ah, who knows who it was - with an actual smile. Yes, you have my permission to faint now. Because, really - Jasper's expression was pretty priceless and for the first time since I landed in this school I was having a mediochre time.
"That's me," I summed up with a nod at Jasper, then the twins seeing as I felt waves of confusion literally rolling off Jasper. "'Freak with wings' would equate with 'mutant,' yes?" I added, shifting my gaze from the twins to Jasper, then back and forth like I wasn't sure who to address.
Well... I wasn't. So it made sense. One thing that didn't however, was why on earth did she just randomly pick me up without verifying who I was? It's not like they're amateurs at this... Or are they? Oh, whatever. They found me, so what works, works.
My uneasiness was slowly dispersing, becoming less existent as I started to relax with the three other Avians. It was good to be with people who were like me. I didn't have to hide, or be super careful that I didn't smile and reveal my fangs, or slip up and start shooting spikes left and right.
I mean, yeah, that'd be bad, but at least I didn't have to keep myself excluded from everything, you know?
Then I realized something... The other twin was still in the process of using me as his own personal armrest. Ooookay... Mental issues? Or was this a normal twin-thing? Talk about your personal space.
I shifted slightly to my left seeing as I still didn't believe I was a living, breathing, poisonous armrest, and raised an eyebrow up at the twin who I had neglected to brush off like, 'Really? Since when did my discription include 'armrest for hire?'
Why? Because I like humor, that's why. Deal with it.
I was also mildly impressed that I was recognized as Siri Corvo and The Raven. Which... Well, it shouldn't be too hard now, should it? "I'm Riven, by the way," I mumbled, realizing I hadn't introduced myself since the Mind-Readers Two had already pretty much listed everything about me except my real name and whitecoat's listing's number.
This was about the time things got awkward for me, since I rarely talk and I don't really know if I'm supposed to wrap up the conversation... Or offer something in peace? Like... Ohhh, a watermelon or something? What can I say? Conversation has never come easily to me - especially since the majority of the people I conversed with during the instrumental time of development were hairy, smelly, unstable lupine experiments with a knack for snapping literally and figuratively at experiments like me.
I know - call me crazy!

  • OOC: Watermelon.... XD

    Jasper

The twins, who'd seemingly gotten tired of using 'Riven' as she said her name was, as an armrest, had sauntered off and were now lounging by the couches, giving each other shared looks that could mean no good. I knew they'd probably be testing the 'new meat' to see if she would suffice as their new 'toy' to play with. If they scared off our new member, so help me...
"It's good that out of all the students around, I ended up bringing you here," I murmured. "Well then, welcome to the Flock. I'm Jasper, that-" I pointed towards one twin. "Is Jay, and that-" pointing "-is Wren. Don't feel bad if you can't tell them apart, it takes time. I've been with them since they were little, so it comes easy to me. Also, don't spark their interest; if you entertain them in any sort of way, they'll never leave you alone. Ever should be here too, but..." I trailed off and started towards the window, when a bang against the door made me swing my attention towards it.
I opened the door and look down. There was a boy there, young, maybe 10 or so, with red hair. I stare at him in surprise.
"Oh, ah, um, sorry." What was I apologizing for? The twins appear behind me, peering over my shoulders at the kid.
Before anyone can do anything, Ever waltzes up behind the boy, and a girl dressed conspicuously in a hat, coat, and sunglasses is beside her.
Ever looks down at the boy, then up at me, then past me at Riven, trying to figure out why there is so many people all of a sudden.
I feel exactly the same way.
"Um...who are you guys?" I ask, toward the sunglasses girl and the redhead boy.

  • Shyly, Iris slipped out of the coat and and glasses, leaving her in a pair of ratty shorts and a tshirt. Her stripes now showing, though they looked more like tattoos. Her ears popped up curiously and her tail swished. "I'm Iris," She muttered shyly, the fir along her tail prickling uneasily at being in such a strange place.

  • Jasper

I take in the girl's appearance. Not the strangest thing I've seen, that's for sure. So, I accept the fact that she's a mutant with ease - not too surprising since Ever had brought her here in the first place - and usher her in, past the boy. With Ever and Iris now inside, along with me, the twins, and Riven, that leaves the boy.
Who we may just have to kidnap because of the things he has now seen.
"If worse comes to worse," Jay murmurs in my ear.
"Redhead can be out errand boy," Wren follows, in my other ear.
I sigh. Right. Sure. Our errand boy.
Really? What would stop him from telling the world about us?
I look down at the boy, trying to look nice and non-scary, which, based on Wren and Jay's snickering, isn't turning out well for me.
They've told me before that my forced smiles are even more terrifying than my normal face, and that smiling only works on me if it's real.
    Whatever.
"So, who are you?" I ask, trying not to make the extremely accusatory question sound accusatory, because that's not how I mean it. I'm not trying to accuse the boy of doing wrong by being here, I just need to know who he is.

  • Nova
I blinked up at the girl. "Nova." I answered calmly, my hair going back to its original form because it had been fluffed up with shock-cat thing-earlier. I yanked my hood back over my head quickly, then looked at my hands as casually as I could. Nope, I'm not a mutant freak checking to see if my claws are still out. Nothing to see here. I thought, seeing that my cat-like claws, as usual, WERE out. They were shiny, and especially pointy at the tips, like talons. Rolling my eyes, I shoved my hands into my pockets. Little holes appeared where my claws touched.

I leaned in to investigate what I had thought I'd just seen.
"Nova," I said, smiling softly, one of those real smiles that the twins would definitely tease me about later. "Could I see your hands for a minute?" I held out both of my own hands for him, palm up. In case he didn't want to, I added. "You can trust us, we want to help."
It felt like a line from a bad action movie or something, but it was true. I did want to help people like me, Ever, the twins. People like Riven and Iris.
It wasn't easy being a mutant, and honestly, the more support from similar people, the better.

  • Nova
I carefully splayed my hands on hers to show her. The claws were flexing repeatedly because of stress, so it was a good thing my palms were up like hers or I might've scratched her or something.

  • Madeline sighed. "Your right. Its easier." She said and relaxed. Her mind ached a bit. "I know we shouldnt. But can we go back?" She asked, crouching. Her wings opened before she paused. Where was her jacket? She couldnt go back without it. "Oh shoot." She said. Angrily, she sighed. Her wings tighted to her back.
    (Same not a charri.)
The girl sent in the pictur eto the Blog Owner's phone. It was a picture of two blurry winged figures. 'Please look around' she typed and sent it in, hoping the Owner replied. She sighed. Slipping on a jacket she found.in the woods, she looked outside. She could swear they were real.
(I hope this isnt annoying. I thought 'Hey since they all were gathering, maybe Chase and Madeline find them or something.' And I thought that the picture could be proof and stuff.)

  • I sighed a little bit at her request to return to school, 'Can't we explore a little longer? I want to see if there's anyplace around here that we can make into a secret meeting place.' I told her, glancing around as if that place would be right nearby. My tail, which had slipped out from under my shirt while we were flying, flicked back and forth like a cat's would if it were waiting for something...And I was...I half expected someone to pop out of a bush or something...My feathers ruffled slight, then smoothed back down.

  • Madeline laughed and smiled. "Fine." She said and laughed. "Maybe in trees?" She asked and looked up. The trees had large branches overhead. Leaping into the air, she grabbed a branch and pulled herself up. The air felt crisp as she heard birds singing. "Come up here!" She yelled down to him. Her legs swung as she let her eyes watch the leaves swayying in the breeze.

  • OOC: *stumbles in and collapses* Oh. My word.
I am so exhausted my fingers can barely even type this.
Mom and I went for a walk around the lake at 3:30ish, and about 30 minutes in, around 2 and a half miles (we were walking fast because our dog was dragging us along) I decided that I was getting seriously tired, because I have not slept hardly any in 2 weeks, and at that point, my head was full of cottonballs, I felt fuzzy, I had a blister on my heel, and felt like I was going to pass out.
But mom said that the end of the walk was probably closer then turning around and going back. A while later, we're both become exhausted and: A sign post says we reached midway. Mom calls dad and tells him to call when he gets off of work so he can be at the end of the path to pick us up since our car was on the other side of the lake.
After even more walking, it's getting late. Dad calls and says he's stuck in traffic. Of all the days to get stuck in traffic...
In the end, we walked (well, I limped) 6 miles, 2 and a half hours, around the whole lake, then down by the highway, in the dark, all the way back to our car with our puppy.
    It was freezing too.
Oh yeah, let's not forget my blister (one on the back of one heel and the bottom of my other foot) and half-strained ankle.
Yes. It was quite the adventure. I'm soooo exhausted. I can't feel my feet or arms or anything really.
    =_=

I don't have the energy to formulate a post right now.
It's a good thing some creeper in a car didn't kidnap us when we were traveling by the road in the dark.

  • I looked up as Zarie climbed up through the branches of a tree. 'Maybe...But trees are kinda hard to tell apart.' I told her, climbing up after her as I did so. It was true...And unless we could find some lightning scorched tree or something, I didn't think one of the big, leafy plants would suffice. 'Maybe we can find an abandoned trailer or shed out here...Unlikely but still possible.' I suggested.

  • "Yes. Then when we look in the van, there is slender man." Madeline mocked(actually saw that playing the game). She flicked her wrist, a small dagger sliding out. Turning, she carved into the tree a heart. "Look at this tree. It is surrounded by beautiful trees with flowers. The tree were sitting in are regular trees." She said. "Just look for the ring of flowers." Plucking a flower, she tucked it behind her ear, the golden ribbons shimmering.

  • (Slendy hides in the cars? Uh oh :()

I smirked slightly. 'Right' I replied. I'd have to memorize the place...I didn't normally notice things like flowers. I guess that just made me noticing these particular flowers even more likely, since I knew they were there. 'Question...Why a heart?' I asked, tapping the heart she'd carved into the tree and raising an eyebrow. Was that just what she'd chosen to make? Or did it have a specific meaning?

  • [Aw, I'm sorry Kitsu! You have my sympathy! That sounds awful... And painful... And cold. Yeesh!]

    ic: Riven
I was a tad overwhelmed with the new people. I'd backed up some as the two new girls and the little guy appeared. My breathing was coming quite a bit faster and my head was starting to pound metholodical thumping that made me feel lightheaded. I did my best to conceal it - after all, I've done it for nearly seven years - but the slamming, mind-searing pain did nothing but increase. I inconspicuously pulled up the hood of my jacket, trying to seek at least temporary solace in the shadow. I know that sounds stupid, but it's true. If you were in my shoes, you'd do the exact same thing.
Why was all this happening? My pulse increasing, adrenaline flooding my blood, my face paling increasingly, and pain hammering in every inch of my body?
Because of an experiment that went way too wrong, way too fast with nothing that could be done about it.
A whitecoat named Dr. Darkholme decided it would be a good idea to try to make experiments telepathic. Uh, she was wrong. By a lot. Instead of making me telepathic and able to use telekinesis, she made me empathic - able to read emotions. Except I can never turn it off for as long as I live. Nearly every emotion, or great quantities of it hurt me mentally. Physically - if I can - I'm able to continue on, but the headaches and pain make it hard for me to do so. I can ignore it if I have enough willpower to do so, or build up mental walls - which gets easier the longer I know specific people. But I've found that it's super hard to do that with other genetically engineered Avians.
I don't know why, and neither did Dr. Darkholme.
So, here I am now, standing behind everyone, staring at the back of the twins' heads, wondering if this would continue on indefinitely. Some days are worse than others.
I clenched my fists, feeling the poking sensation inside my wrists that alerted me that spikes were just waiting to come out - minus poison. The poison's a story for another time, but these spikes were pure, 100% blood-and-marrow bone. I glanced quickly at my wrist, even though I figured the others wouldn't give a fig, and saw that the backs of my wrists and knuckles had discolored into a slightly darker shade. I shoved them in my pockets and hoped that this introductory stuff would be over soon. It was fairly easy with three other people in the room - two of which were very simlar - but with more that catch me off guard and are surprisingly unstable?
Hello, Pain. My name's Riven, how may I be utilized as your torture tool?
Again, I listened silently to the others, biting my lip and feeling my fangs dig into the sensitive skin inside my lip. They weren't super long, but they were sharp. Good think my skin doesn't respond to my own teeth, yes?
I listened idly, hoping I'd get some information other than the blog-worthy stuff soon, and almost wondered if I'd be able to stay conscious this time...
    Oh, well. Que sara, sara.
What? You can't expect new stuff from a language buff all the freaking time, can you?

  • Madeline looked up from her carving. She looked at it, blushed, then slid the pocket knife away. "I-its- I mean its nothing." She managed to say. She covered it with her wings and was blushing furiously. She was an idiot. Madeline mentally hit herself. She had been carving that while thinking of Chase. Her face reddened even more. "Just remember that this is our meet up." She said, wanting to change the subject.
She hoped that she didnt write anything in there, and she felt around. Just a heart. Then two letters. Her head lowered as she felt the letter C. What was wrong with her?

  • Iris looked around the shack cautiously. She sat down, cross crossed legs, in a corner and rested her palms against the floor. Her claws slid out and flexed against the floor, her tail bushing out in agitation. She didn't enjoy being in such a small, enclosed space around so many strangers she'd only just met. She had trust issues, given where she'd just escaped from, so naturally she just didn't enjoy being around strange people.
