David continued walking for the hunt, and stopped abruptly. Three pairs of footprints, all set deeply in mud. "Guys, look at this." He knelt and examined each pair- the one that didn't go two ways would be the true one.

IC~ Tobin finished washing his feet in he mountain stream. After drying them he climbed higher and got behind a bunch of large rocks. He'd push them down when the others came.

David sized up the area. "By that pile of boulders? It's as good a hiding place as any. Alright then, let's circle around the slope, staying in that patch of underbrush. You bigger people will probably have to crawl much of the way. Heck, I'll have to stoop almost double too. But he won't be able to push us off or crush us beneath those boulders."

With those words, David sprinted up the hill, his sling twirling. He aimed a rock straight at Tobin's chest, trying to break his ribs.
